I've been wanting to try PP for a long time and I'm so happy I did! Went in for brunch on a Saturday without reservations and was able to grab a spot at the bar so I'd recommend making reservations in advance if possible. All of the food was 5/5. Flavor and quality was there. Service was excellent. The bartender was very attentive and friendly. I was disappointed that the Rainbow Kisses frozen cocktail wasn't available but I ended up trying the frozen calamansi and loved it! Decided to get a to go cup and added champagne when I got home. Overall ambiance was great and I'll definitely be back!

Yum Yum Yum! Delicious spot with so many Filipino options. Staff was nice and they got our food to us in a timely manner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside is super dark and very much a vibe, outside is your clean typical outside seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I've been to Purple Patch in DC each time I've been here and it NEVER disappoints. Ube treats are a must-try here. I love the sweet breakfast options (I've had Ube French Toast and Pancakes in the past) and the savory egg platters that taste great without swimming in oil. I've also had crab torta(?) in the past, which I really enjoyed but haven't seen again since I first came like four years ago. Purple Patch is super popular, so if you don't have a reservation I'd recommend getting there right when it opens. Even about an hour after is okay. The earlier the better, though. I always have gone on a Saturday or Sunday and called beforehand to check if they had room. Parking isn't too difficult to find, but it WILL be street parking and you may need to walk 5-10 minutes to the restaurant.

Started off with Mama Alice's Lumpia Can't go wrong with the crispiness of the outer roll. It comes with your classic sweet and sour sauce and a vinegary sauce that I like. The spicy adobo chicken was amazing. The spiciness of the chicken balances well with the salad, rice, and the sourness of the pickled veggies. Last but not least the desserts were fire. I really like the soft texture of the pudding and the after taste of the ube pie. We were going to try the cheesecake but they didn't have it :c I hope to try it one day!

We came in without reservation and got seated pretty quickly. Great service and hospitality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice seating indoor... nice and cool decors around and very pleasing to eyes as you enjoy eating some food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tried the following items: Mama Alicia's lumpia: it's similar to spring rolls but it's filled of chopped carrots, pork, and something... but very crispy and juicy... I like it with banana ketchup dipping as it balances the flavors so it wasn't overwhelming. I'd love to eat this again. Ube pancakes with lechon kawali: Ube pancakes were amazing with coconut syrup or maple syrup! Soft, moist bites! Wasn't too dry then paired with lechon kawali (pieces of fried pork belly), pretty good and different than I've used to as I like braised pork belly... it was fried and crispy but little bit dry for me, still enjoyable to eat tho! So much on menu that I'd love to try! Only if I could have a bigger stomach to try more!

Purple Patch the restaraunt that you are! I don't get nearly as many opportunities to eat Filipino food as I would like but getting to eat at Purple Patch was truly a worthwhile experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance of the restaraunt is so cozy it almost feels like I'm in someone's home and they're welcoming us for dinner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was nice, waitstaff were helpful and accommodating. My friends and I got a few different food options to share for the table. These included Alice's Lumpia, Pancit Bihon, Ginger Pork Belly served on flour noodles (one of my faves), Alimasag Fried Rice (comes with garlic, soy sauce, onion, and lump crab over rice), and Eggplant Adobe to name a few. I was very impressed with the vegetarian options offered in general. We also ordered the ube pandesal buns (served with strawberries) which were a perfect sweet but savory complement to the main dishes. For cocktails, I ordered the spicy calamansi margarita which combines my love for spicy margs and calamansi juice. It was very tart yet flavorful. I can't wait to come back, maybe for brunch next time!

I came with a couple of friends and enjoyed it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is much larger than it appears and the staff was helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of my friend had the chicken and waffle, she thought it was fine but they forgot her ice cream at first. I had the spicy adobo fried chicken and honestly did not love it. I thought the chicken was way too salty. I'd like to come back and try something else that hopefully I enjoy.

OH MY GOSH. I have never really had filipino food before and this was an amazing introduction to it. We went on a wednesday night, and there were a good amount of people there. That just proves how good the food was. All the employees were very kind and understanding, especially since me and my friend were gong back and forth on what to order because EVERYTHING looked so good. I wish I could've gotten everything...which just means I need to come back asap. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside felt very homey with a touch of modern dc.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chicken Adobo 8.5/10. The tenderism was crazyyy. The meat fell off the bone and was so juicy. Crab fat pancit canton 10/10...holy crap. This hit every flavor taste bud in my mouth. But don't get me started on the Tocino entree. The pork was perfectly sweet and savory with tanginess. Like i'm dreaming about the Tocino right now writing this. The perfect 10/10. Teh ghost face manilla was yum, a little plupy but still great. The palawan... the best cocktail i think i have ever had in my life. Need that again.

First time actually getting an authentic Filipino dish and it was so good! Service is decent. Staff is friendly. Stopped by Purple Patch to check out their Filipino dishes and had a great time. The laing was a very tasty coconut milk stew with dried taro leaves and other spices. We opted to add pork as our protein. It overall was well-seasoned and coconut-forward but some of the pork pieces were a little too fatty for me. If you like creamed spinach or palak paneer like me, I think you'll enjoy the laing! We also got the spicy adobo fried chicken since it was Chef Patrice's winning recipe. The chicken was tender and juicy. While I liked the abobo sauce, I just wish the chicken was crispier. I enjoyed how the rice had a lot of green scallions. We skipped appetizers to make room for their desserts! The halo halo was delicious! With the ratio of ingredients, I really liked how it was ube/coconut-forward, instead of fruit-forward. The ube ice cream and halaya were solid against a background of ice drenched in sweet condensed milk. The other toppings were hidden underneath and I liked the coconut slices, jelly, and leche flan. Again as someone who doesn't love fruit and beans, I liked how there was enough to balance the flavors but didn't steal the spotlight away from the ube/coconut. Staff were polite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a spacious restaurant downstairs with an upstairs area for take-outs. Good variety of seating options with some big tables that can accommodate large parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the accents of purple!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My wife is Filipino and wanted an authentic experience. After some research we found Purple Patch. From the outside it looks like a small house or cafe. Once you go inside the restaurant opens up and is spacious enough where we didn't feel cramped with other diners. The staff was caring and attentive. We ordered a variety of different foods that I myself cannot name correctly, but my wife knew how to say it perfectly. After tasting all of them, I could say that they all were delicious and my wife felt like she was at home at her family's house and was eating a homemade meal. Portion sizes were great for the price and we were full by the time we left. Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend anyone who wants authentic Filipino food to visit this restaurant and give it a try.

A quaint Filipino restaurant that makes the most of its space in a small underground hallway, although they also have an upstairs dining that I've yet to see. The staff are very attentive and caring and go above and beyond. They are known for their hot cocktails (their hot apple cider is incredible) and their brussel sprout starter that is superb. I quite enjoyed their pork belly adobo, however the portion size was smaller than I had expected and the sauce slightly saltier than I would have liked. However, the meat was very tender and the rice was well cooked. To end the meal, I would recommend their Halo Halo dessert (Filipino version of a shaved ice) or any dish served with Ube ice cream since it tastes delicious. Overall, great dining experience but the main entree left me wanting more. SECOND VISIT: Came back a year later and wanted to try some of their other dishes. Their spicy fried chicken and sizzling sisig are delicious with great portions, but their noodle dishes (Pancit Canton or Pancit Bihon) weren't as good. Their potato adobo was delicious though. BRUNCH: Also really love their Ube waffles and fried chicken as well as their sinangag. Still find their prices to be a little steep, but food quality is up there!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is the cutest little restaurant and I'm glad I finally made my way out to Mount Pleasant to try it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the lechon kawali to start and it was very well-balanced. The sauce and papaya salad cut through the fattiness of the pork, while the pork itself was crispy and juicy. For mains, I tried the spicy adobo fried chicken entree and the sizzling sisig. The portions were massive. Both were delicious for different reasons. The spicy adobo fried chicken was well-balanced as a whole meal with the papaya salad and dressed greens balancing the chicken, but I wasn't a fan of the rice it was served with. The sizzling sisig was superb and packed with flavor, but I think it would've been too heavy if it was the only entree I was eating. For dessert, I tried the ube bread pudding and it was yummy but nothing mind blowing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the meal was warm and cozy, what a delightful gem![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Vegan options for brunch and dinner?

We have a variety of vegan options for both brunch and dinner

How busy is it on a Monday morning? They aren't taking reservations but it's far from me so I'm nervous to just show up and not get a table.

Usually they aren't really busy on a Monday. I wouldn't worry about not getting a table!

Are they open for dining on their patio?

    Yep!

Is brunch reserved for the weekend? What are brunch hours?

10am-3pm, with reservations for larger parties.

    Do they serve suman here?

This is not a typical Filipino restaurant, they catered more Western/tweak version of most Filipino restaurant I’ve ever had.

How much is the Kamayan Feast and how many people should I go with?

$65/person with groups of 4+. Need to make a reservation

How do we order the Kamayan Feast? Is that something we need to request in advance?

I would suggest you call in to request it, definitely something that needs to be done in advance since it's a preset price per head.

Do they still have halo halo? I do not see it on the menu but see it referenced in several reviews.

My friend ordered it off the menu when we went about a month ago for dinner!

As tourists, we had no idea how intimate the space was (or that reservations are recommended even just for drinks!), so we felt incredibly lucky when a staff member took pity on us and offered an outside table. I wish I could remember his name--he truly made the experience. He brought so much energy and personality, setting the tone for the whole night. After scanning the QR codes on the "records" for the menu, we each ordered something different. I went with the Take Me Out--a mix of mezcal, pineapple, amontillado, tamarind, mango, coconut, and lime--and I was not prepared for just how delicious it would be. It was layered, refreshing, and completely memorable. The presentation and attention to detail were next-level. My drink arrived with a perfectly round ice sphere and was paired with a sugared, vegan mango gummy that added a fun, unexpected twist. Our host also elevated several of the drinks tableside--adding custom tinctures and even creating a smiley face with drops of oil and basil in one cocktail nearby. It felt thoughtful, creative, and a little theatrical in the best way. We spent the evening outside, enjoying incredible drinks, easy conversation, and a warm night under the stars. It was one of those experiences that just sticks with you. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to D.C.--and Press Club Bar of Record will absolutely be on my list to revisit. Highly recommend, and maybe make a reservation!

I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward.
