I love this place!!!!! $16 for a full breakfast plate is unbeatable, and they don't skimp out on portions or flavor. I swapped my fries for a side salad with vinaigrette, and it was basically a full portion. This is just what I'd been craving for my Sunday brunch. Everything was delicious and perfectly executed, tastes so comforting! Espresso martini was $14, huge, and well-made. Their cocktail selection looks excellent for such a family-friendly appearing cafe-- there's a bit of everything for everyone. Inside is a bit small but cozy and comfortable. My table of 7 got a slice of chocolate cake and Dutch apple pie to share, and the portions were HUGE, we didn't even finish both. S-L-O-W-W-W-W Service After wine sampling at Turkovich Family Wines in Winters hubby and I decided to have lunch at this cafe before heading home. This is on the corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue, just a hop, skip and a jump away from the tasting room. The restaurant was busy and we had a some wait but the length of time to get seated wasn't as long as the wait to get our food! We were seated in a booth by the entrance to their kitchen and we see our waitress go in and out of that kitchen always bypassing us and not even giving us an update on the status of our orders. I finally had to flag her down and told her that we had to be somewhere soon... she apologized and checked on our food. She finally brought our food out to our table... and what did we order? A BLT and 2-egg combo sausage breakfast. I had the BLT and it was delicious with generous portions of bacon inside. The problem was that we waited so long that I lost my appetite. I ate half of my sandwich and took the other half home. Hubby, unfortunately, did not enjoy his breakfast meal and said the sausage patties were overcooked and came out chewy and rubber like texture. It is unfortunate because this cafe seems to be a destination cafe for folks heading to the wineries and popular among the locals and bicyclists. They have nice outside dining but they have poor internet connection. If you're wondering... yes, Putah Creek Cafe was featured in Season 11 of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (somewhere between January and April 2011). Putah Creek Cafe is a good local spot to enjoy simple foods. The ambiance is enjoyable and very fitting for the town of Winters. Love that there is an option to sit outside or inside. Prices are very reasonable, and food portions are great. Rating four stars out of five due to service being okay. Have visited numerous times, service tends to be better at times. Service can be mediocre and wish it was a little bit more inviting. Food is good, nothing outstanding . Pizza is always a great option, easy to share with the table. The bbq chicken is always a go to. Breakfast items are good as well, I can appreciate that the breakfast items are offered with lunch items in the afternoon. Overall, Putah Creek is a simple breakfast/lunch spot to enjoy on any day! Would recommend & will be continuing to visit. read more

HAVE AGAIN: The Cali burger was delicious as were the fries. The special lemon poppyseed pancakes were really good, but really needed a side of sausage. I had went to Winters recently for a Wedding and rehearsal dinner. One of the Servers had mentioned that this particular restaurant had a great Breakfast and Lunch and Dinner , as well. We opted for a Breakfast and had a large party of 10+. We had called the morning of and they were able to accommodate us at the last minute. Jenn our Server was very patient and really went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. I had started with an Orange juice and wound up also getting a Tequila Sunrise. The other drink I almost got was a Bloody Mary, but after the previous night; it would have been too strong for me. They had a lot of options for Breakfast like Country Fried Steak, Carnitas Huevos Rancheros and Lemon Poppy seed pancakes. I had ordered the Egg White Veggie scramble with fruit and a side order ala cart Pancake. The scramble was a pretty large portion with Fresh veggies and artichoke hearts and roasted Bell peppers and spinach. The fruit I got on the side was also very good. The place was buzzing with the Morning rush but it definitely was a good recommendation. We went on our way out and purchased a few slices of Apple pie and a few ginormous Cookies and a thing called a Wonder Bar which was like an 7 Layer bar but with Almond and Coconuts and Chocolate and it was also gigantic. Too bad we weren't able to purchase a whole pie, but since Easter was the next day; they were not selling whole pies at that particular time. read more

My husband and I took my mom to her birthday brunch around 930am on a Sunday. About a 10 minute wait, which was great and we got a requested table as well. It was a bit loud as it seems to echo a bit but clean, comfortable and welcoming. Our hostess and server was Jennifer who was friendly, accommodating and prompt. I've been here a handful of times and I LOVE their food!! It's our favorite place!! The chicken and waffles are seriously my FAVORITE!!! The mushroom burger is delicious and you can never go wrong with chicken fingers for kids! The carrot cake is the best I've ever had and the snickerdoodle... YUMMMM!! The prices are extremely good the food is great and your glass is never empty Cons: expect a wait but if they tell you 30 minutes expect more like an hour. The staff who clears the table clearly takes their time and then some. The wait would be the estimated time if it weren't for this. First of all the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Very warm. Olivia was our waitress and gave us excellent service. The Carnitas in the huevos rancheros were better than any I've had ever elsewhere. I learned from Olivia that Norma has been the chef behind the scenes for over 20 years making them. In addition to the Eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros, we also ordered a side of the pumpkin pancakes, which were amazing but unfortunately seasonal. The coffee was magnificent. Today we found ourselves in the quaint town of Winters. One of my mom's favorite restaurants was Putah Creek Cafe. This is a must stop when in Winters in my opinion. The food is always fresh and the service is always fantastic. Our server today was Jen who was amazing and welcoming. I had the Corn Pie which I devoured instantly. My wife had the Veggie Scramble which she enjoyed very much. Pro tip - they also have gluten free bread / toast. Their desserts are excellent. Came here during brunch time and got seated almost immediately. Got the Davis Farmers Market sandwich, the tritip hit the spot. the caramelized onions were a bit on the sweeter side, but the French bread was nice. They were also able to accommodate for onion rings instead. read more
