I'm a very big fan of PVR Research. I've been participating in their taste tests for years. They typically pay $45 to $75 for a 60 minute study. They have you sample food from a variety of national fast food chains, and you use their laptop computer to provide feedback. It's a great way to get a free meal and earn a prepaid Visa card. Sometimes they have more extensive and time consuming studies. I've earned $100 to $200 through testing products at home and conducting one-on-one interviews at retail locations. Incentives for taste tests usually run from $45-75 (lasting up 45 mins to an hour and a half depending on the study), and up to $200 for more extensive and time consuming studies. This is my second time here and the staff is very friendly and organized. Check in at the front desk, fill out a waiver, and wait to get moved to a room filled with rows of tables with laptops. The people conducting the studies are great ambassadors for their clients. Parking is easy and plentiful. I've heard of this research group from a friend of a friend of a friend. I was very skeptic that I'd get any incentive for participating or if this place was even legit. A couple years later, I have been part of 3 taste tests and it was all a wonderful experience. The staff was professional and courteous. They also have other survey groups, focused discussions on a certain brand/topics. I have never done those yet but did taste tests for upcoming menu items from familiar food establishments. Cant say which as it is part of the confidentiality agreement but it was fun tasting food that aren't available to the public yet, then weeks+ later hearing it being announced on the radio or seeing an ad about it - makes me like a giddy kid "heeyyy thats the one we taste tested!" lol how exciting was that! You are directed to a room filled with tables and computers just like going into a computer class. They have waiters/waitresses who will then serve you food and you're given a time to taste or eat them all if you like, then answer a questionnaire on the computer. Their facility is at the same building as the Johns Creek police dept. So yes.. not a scam lol You won't always get qualified though because they often seek certain groups for specific tests such as people from lower/higher incomes, work industry, race/culture and even age groups (yes kids to test kids products). Depending on the research, incentives range from $45-75/hour. I've also seen $200+ for longer studies with extra in-home interviews. Very disappointed in PVR tonight. I was scheduled for a taste test but had a mandatory meeting at work that I couldn't miss. I called twice, two hours before the study and left a message telling them I couldn't make it but please keep me on the list. At exactly 8:15, (time of study) Kathy called me and was VERY short and rude to me. I told her I had called two hours earlier and she said thanks and hung up. I tried calling back to let her know the reason, of course, no answer again?? I have been going here probably 15 years and this is the first time I had to cancel. If you don't have any dietary restrictions PVR Research is a great way to earn easy cash. Numerous food companies partner with PVR to find a group of non biased individuals to try out different foods and sometimes even non edible items such as silverware. Depending on how long the study is and what they are requiring you to do will determine how much you get paid. To get started you have to go to their website and sign up to be a part of the research studies. Once you sign up there will be emails sent to you on a weekly basis on different studies. You have to pass a series of questions to be a part of the study because these companies look for very specific answers. I would definitely recommend them! A great place to earn a little extra cash every few months for giving personal opinions on up and coming restaurant dishes. Do you have an hour to spare? This is a taste testing research center. Once you sign up on their website, participants are often called for taste focus groups. There is usually a little raffle for an extra visa gift card if you arrive a few min early.
