For nearly three decades I have paid my premiums on time and have never filed a claim related to a car accident. The only claim I ever filed was about 26 years ago, when my parked car was vandalized on Halloween night. As my policy renewal approached in March 2026, I began receiving offers from other insurance companies interested in gaining my business. However, before considering a switch, I decided to speak with my Farmers agent, Sapphire Ivory Dooley, to ask if there might be a better option or a loyalty-based adjustment available after nearly three decades as a customer with a clean record. Unfortunately, the conversation turned into a very disappointing experience. As soon as the possibility of leaving was mentioned, the response I received was unexpectedly hostile. I was essentially told that I was free to "go anywhere I want," that all companies are the same, and that it would make no difference whether I stayed with Farmers or went somewhere else. After 28 years of loyalty, this was shocking to hear. What troubled me even more was the tone of the conversation. Instead of feeling like a valued long-term client, I felt like a schoolchild being scolded by a principal for asking a simple question. It was uncomfortable and frankly disappointing. Twenty-eight years apparently mean very little. I always believed Farmers Insurance valued long-term relationships with their customers. Unfortunately, this interaction left me with the opposite impression. Yes, I will most likely be moving to another company -- one that treats long-standing clients with respect and appreciation. This experience left me not angry, but deeply disappointed. I truly expected better from Farmers.
