Wonderful atmosphere, friendly people and incredible food!! My wife ordered the salmon which was well prepared and very tasty. The cream sauce that it was served with was a nice compliment to her salmon. The sautéed veggies were perfection! They were not over-cooked nor greasy. She also had small potatoes baked in butter. My dish is hard to figure from the photo, but I can tell you for my taste it was excellent. It is promoted as the specialty of the house. I was pleased. The meal is a veal steak with a Madeira wine reduction sauce and an Azores cheese sauce. These two sauces did not compete but rather complimented each other very well. The stack you see also contained creamed spinach (delicious preparation), and potato slices similar to scalloped potatoes. We had the House red which turned out to be amazing. Jamie W and I spent a busy morning traipsing through the Chiado and Bairro Alto districts, so the al fresco option worked for us. We decided to share the 10€ Mixed Salad, a pretty standard mix of lettuce, tomato, shredded carrot, red onion, and beets (Photo 9).
