We were seated by Cash and our waiter was Israel this visit. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had some nice cocktails with our brunch that were well made. I had the salmon avocado toast which was a very generous serving and delicious. Will definitely be back!

This place popped up and in my area and looked like a great breakfast and lunch place. We went around 1pm and the wait was about 15 to 30 minutes but turned out to be less than 10 minutes. We were greeted pretty quickly after being seated by Kia. A fantastic person and super fun to talk with when she has time! There's actually some cocktail offerings and mocktails which were actually pretty good! The decor felt like something I would see in a downtown eatery but around the corner from a local HEB. I had the prosciutto sandwich with the signature potatoes and we also ordered the smash burger and a club sandwich. Everything tasted local and fresh. The bread tasted home made and that made it more savory for me. The smash burger was perfect and everything was great. It's a very enjoyable spot but you have to find the right time to go because when you go during peak time it's pretty busy. There's outside seating as well and that alone feels like an Austin feel which is great for the cooler days. I want to go back and try more stuff!

In a bit of an odd location rather than a standalone, P&S doesn't lack on insta worthy shots (both in food presentation and decor). The usual trendy vibes, with the usual brunch foods. What stood out to me, and made the adventure worth it, were the service and variety of gluten free options. We happened to have the pleasure of being the only ones sitting outside, but that didn't mean we were forgotten! We received excellent and friendly service which made us hang around for a little longer than we normally would have. Many items on the menu are either gluten free or can be made gluten free and the server seemed to have good knowledge about what contained what, always a good sign. While I can't rave about the food (I know, there are only so many ways you can mix up avocado, toast, and potatoes), drinks were great and I wouldn't have a problem coming back to try something different!

Delightful open space, lots of greenery. Very clean and crisp environment. A bit noisy, but you can have a conversation. Extensive menu of both food and beverages. Many seasonal special items. i went with an angus benedict - very tasty with wonderfully seasoned sautéed mushrooms. Fresh taste and delightful appearance. Hubby chose the pastrami on rye and was very happy. Both of us enjoyed the large serving of fried potatoes. We both had some leftovers. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. The iced tea was fresh- brewed and fabulous! Nya took very good care of us and brought more tea twice and even a to-go cup. Her helper brought a new glass of tea and noticed I had lime - she proceeded to go get me a fresh lime section for the 2nd glass! We were greeted upon entering and told there was a short wait - we were seated within 10 minutes. The military discount was appreciated.

Had never heard of this place but friends took us there. Great place! We had to wait for 30 minutes to get a table, so points off for that. I can also report that the syrup- even though it is in a maple syrup bottle- it is not pure maple syrup. But the syrup was good. Pure maple is an upcharge. We had breakfast and everything was good. Food was fresh and service was good. Friends bought us breakfast so can't say for sure, but seems like it was a good value for the price. Recommended.

First time at this restaurant. Wow it was so busy ! If you go on the weekends, make sure to join the waitlist on their website. The waitlist ca be overwhelming, but be patient- 40 minutes went pretty quickly. The food was delicious, I recommend this place for sure ! I came on a Sunday. Food does take some time to come out to the table so be ready to order once the server gets water and coffee -

Stopped in at Pür & Simple for an early morning breakfast on my way to Austin and was pleasantly surprised. It's a cute, upscale diner with a fresh and modern feel -- definitely a step above your typical breakfast stop. I was recommended the Ray's Extravaganza Bowl, and it did not disappoint. The spicy hollandaise was so tasty and really brought everything together. The bowl itself was hearty and filling, perfect fuel for a road trip. I also ordered a smoothie, which was refreshing and a great add-on. Service was lovely -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming even first thing in the morning. Overall, I would absolutely stop here again if I'm in the area. Great food, great service, and a really charming breakfast spot.

A pleasant surprise! After working out, we were starving and looking for a good brunch spot near the gym and found this spot. Plenty of parking and very clean esthetics is the first impression. As I walked in, the interior was very bright and cute. The menu had ample breakfast/brunch/lunch options! They had a seasonal menu with the carrot cake stack and I had to get it! I also wanted something savory so I got the Nordic Benedict. Everything came out super fresh and fast. Portions were generous and everything tasted amazing. The poached eggs were perfect and the potatoes were delicious. And of course, that carrot stack pancake was amazing! It was basically layered carrot cake with less sweetness topped with a fluffy cream cheese maple cream. This is a must get! Definitely will come back!

I really enjoyed this restaurant, the food was very tasteful and unique. We came during brunch hours so I dint get my usual breakfast go to so I decided to try the smash burger. It was delicious and the portions were perfect. My wife got the Philly bowl minus pesto and that too was delicious, the potatoes were cooked perfectly. The service there is awesome, great hospitality and on it. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. Initially we were told our wait would be 45 min l, we went on a Sunday about 1045, we were seated within 5 min so that was a nice surprise. I definitely think this is one of the top breakfast spots in San Antonio.

Expect a long wait on the weekend, but you can plan accordingly and get on the wait list. When the host sat us, he suggested we try the fresh squeezed OJ since they change out the oranges monthly, and during our visit, they were Valencia, which is slightly sweeter. When our waiter, Gino, came to our table, we asked for a sample. It was delightful, so we ordered a cup, which was a good size. We opted to share the Black & Blue. The food was good, especially the potatoes, the pancakes okay, but imo overpriced. We really enjoyed the ambiance and decorations. Our waiter was great. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and would return.

Finally had a chance to check out this spot for brunch with my gym friends for a post-holiday get together. I was starving and none of us had ever been here. We were checking out the menu and Maryanne was our server. She asked if we had any questions and gave us a few minutes. I was in the mood for savory and protein so I chose the Corned Beef Bowl with a poached egg. My other friend had the same but with an over-easy egg. The other friend ordered the Xplosion which includes 2 HUGE pieces of French Toast topped w/strawberries, bananas and Nutella. My other friend just ordered an omelette(I think Ham) with their house potatoes. Our food came out within 15-20 minutes and we were all surprised at how huge the portions were, esp. the French Toast which was very thick, but with a soft texture even for the crust vs. being toasty. I loved the Corned Beef Bowl, though as it had chunky pieces of beef, tasty potatoes which weren't flat tasting and I'd say the sides of Hollandaise weren't needed, really. My friend and I asked for the Hollandaise on the side and they gave us one regular and one slightly spicy in a ramekin. We assumed we were going to share it even though I said I just wanted the regular? I asked for the red onions on the side because I thought they were raw so my friend asked for me to have them on the side and she'd eat them. I think the manager was the one who came by to ask who wanted the red onions on the side and if I also wanted the bell peppers also on the side? I told him that I only wanted the red onions on the side for my friend. They were sautéed so that was good to know. My friend asked if I liked the Hollandaise and I tried both. They were okay and I told her kinda cheesy tasting vs. a traditional flavor w/some lemon. She thought it tasted cheesy as well. I added some Tabasco on the side to dip my potatoes in but the dish was already flavorful and didn't need anything else, IMO. I couldn't finish my dish nor my friend so we took our leftovers home. Service was attentive when we first arrive and Maryanne would check up on is if we need anything or if we were finished and needed any boxes. The manager who I assumed was the manager as he was the one who asked about the onions and how we were doing, also came by. One of my friends was taking longer to finish her meal as she was talking so Maryanne was attending to other tables. When we were asking other employees for the check, they'd tell us they'd notify her. It took awhile for her to come by and we waited maybe another 10-15 minutes until we asked another employee and were ready to just go to the front desk to pay. She finally came and knowing it was busier but other servers were sometimes behind the front counter, perhaps Maryanne could've given us our individual checks when she gave our to-go boxes. I ended up paying with cash and my bill was $18.94. I gave Maryanne, the waitress $25 in cash. ($20 bill & $5 bill). She only gave me 5 $1-dollar bills but didn't include the change from the $20($1.06). That should've been returned as well as my receipt. We had to go so I just left a tip. It's unfortunate that this is what happens when you don't pay by credit card. I'll be back for the Corned Beef Bowl but be mindful of how I pay next time.

I heard about Pur & Simple opening in our area. It's a Canadian restaurant that started originally in Montreal. San Antonio is the first U.S. location. The menu is springbound, so there are many selections for everyone. Most of us had the House Coffee, and Dad had the Hot Chocolate with the fancy whipped cream and chocolate chips. Dad and I shared the Sweet & Salty Crepes with scrambled eggs, bacon, ham & sausage mix, cheddar & Swiss blend, and famous potatoes. My sister-in-love had the Corned Beef Hash Bowl with corned beef, red onions, red & green peppers, cheddar & Swiss blend, green onion, and Hollandaise sauce. My brother had the Avocado Bacon with 2 poached eggs, avocado, seasoned guacamole, bacon, cheddar & Swiss blend, tomatoes, green onions, snow pea sprouts, and potatoes. Hubby had the All-American Combo with 2 eggs, bacon, a half waffle, and potatoes. The food was fantastic and the restaurant was full of people. Alexis was our attentive server.

It's so nice having a breakfast/brunch restaurant near by. It's got a very a nice staff. I love the decor and vibe. My husband ordered the Chicago Benedict with potatoes. Yum!! He loved it . I ordered the power bowl with grilled chicken. I really enjoyed it. We both left feeling satisfied and not overstuffed.

The red cabbage was also very undercooked and completely lacked flavor. Overall, I personally did not find the food authentic or representative of true German cooking. What truly saved this experience was the outstanding customer service. Our server, Joseph, was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. The receptionist went over suggestions on the menu on her outdoor podium. Cornbread in the shape of Texas, shareable items like Dino ribs for $82, plus Pork Shank and ice tea completed our order. Everyone was very friendly. We had an exceptional view and we had more than enough food that we had to ask for take out boxes. My favorite was the Mac & cheese though I'm usually not a fan. This dish used cork screw shaped pasta and it was moist and not stuck together. I had to share a photo of it with Sweetie who is in Tokyo right now. Doc liked the pimento for the cornbread. As it was almost 9 pm we decided to pass on the boat ride but just walk on the other side with shops and more eateries. We're back on the road again tomorrow to Arizona.
