The structure overall is passed it's prime, and possibly to be phased out in 2030, so they're not going to throw any more money at it than they have to. Just be aware that much of the facility will have that older, institutional vibe to it. Mainly my intent was to comment on the provided meals. Maybe change DGH name to Gloria McClusky Hospital as she has done great things for Dartmouth over the many years in office. I have been to this hospital for hello visits to lift people's spirits. to say goodbye sadly to folks in their last days, and have even been there to watch the Super Bowl. Full disclaimer.. I really dislike hospitals. They don't have many good memories for me, and to be honest, the smell still haunts me any time I think of it. But not trying to focus on the negatives.. there is a lot of great people in these buildings, working around the clock to make the place keep ticking. So many times I have seen nurses willing to bend the rules, or work the system to try and help a patient in need and it's those kind of people that make these places bearable for the rest of us. These people are the reason I give the Dickson building such a high review. These people make this hospital a place that people that have to come to, a place to at least be able to stand. I thank each and every nurse and doctor whom I have come across for the work they do, I know I couldn't even imagine doing it myself.

Thanks to corporate lobbying no one has ever tested positive in Canada for these serious medical issues & just like the UK, (any imaging charts done read in Barcelona Spain) any proper tests & reading thanks to corporate lobbying & corrupt politicians who have no problems finding minions who will go along in the medical system, (quote Dr. Timothy Riding, "We are not suppose to ask questions!") prefer to keep it that way. You have to go out of country to have proper tests done & read. Dr. Christie ordered the Dixon MRI tests solely due to the fact that after Dr. Roger McKelvey & Dr. David Bond admitted it was undeniable that I did a better job self diagnosing after I quit going to my previous physicians, (mortality of certain social groups especially those CCI etc. well below average) After responsibilities as a caregiver ceased I went to the Clearwater Florida to have a DMX, (Digital Motion X-Ray) & fMRI. Contrary to what Dr. Sean Christie proclaimed these tests were vastly superior to anything in Canada because they take things like function, gravity & a CCJ Complex open mouth shot into account. In automotive terms it's like thinking you can test your starter, charging system with a static voltmeter instead of a functional current draw test. Current N.S. & Canadian non open mouth static tests are medieval by comparison when testing moving components of the cervical spine. The doctor in the USA who did the DMX explained before the test was done what should be found based on the symptoms I told him I had before the test. The eight page report showed Left 7.6 MM & Right 8 MM C1, C2 overhang due to irreparable CCJ Complex ligament damage. The neurosurgeon that looked at the charts & seven minute movie of which I have a copy of each told me the measurements were taken when the frames were froze in a conservative position & the actual measurements were just under 9MM left side & just over 9MM right side. The maximum both sides combined before surgery is recommended is 6.9MM. The neurosurgeon who saw me informed me he operated on as little as 3MM one side & as much as 11MM per side. At just over 18MM combined I am almost three times the combined total for an operation. I was also suppose to have an fMRI done to deal with the Chiari Malformation & CSF Flow redirection symptoms along with sudden failing eyesight & testing positive for Glaucoma shortly after the DUI MVA responsible. However because the clinic involved in the USA has something called protocols & ethics it could not be done due to a piece of metal in my forehead that even though documented by Valley Regional shortly after the DUI MVA in question has yet to be removed. Within days of coming back to Canada after the DMX & failed fMRI & Dr. Christie ordered no more tests required for a second time I was suddenly informed by Dr. Christie to go to the Dixon Centre for a non open mouth, static X-Ray. This type of X-Ray would be about as useful as an X-Ray on my foot. No mention about removal of the piece of metal in my forehead. I found out the hard way that proper gold standard rule of law testing is not the forte of Canadian Medicare & the same applies to MV58A protocols when hit by someone completely on the wrong side of the road doing 80KPH plus while impaired in the province of N.S.. Facts are due to the National Socialist reality that is Canada people like myself would be better off if Medicare was abandoned ASAP! In Conclusion anyone suffering from CCI, Chiari Malformation, CSF Flow redirection issues after trauma etc. is far better off getting a private sector open mouth X-Ray & eye test for Glaucoma etc.. If test is positive go to the USA etc. to have a DMX & fMRI & have it read in the USA by board certified specialists! Any test done by the government with taxpayers money is done for the benefit of those lobbying the corrupt politicians in power. That's simply the way it is in Canada! John F. Dorey

I didn't even take off my jacket. after, I asked to see if my ankle is worse due to cartilage lost and a new pain I haven't felt before and all he said is i should "take rest because i'm healing slower" when I referred again to the fact it's not a sprain, it's worn down cartilage (that will not heal or regenerate) he doubled down that I simply need to rest more than previously. it all felt like a huge waste of time and effort. I would've preferred waiting 8 hours in an emergency room to see a doctor who will actually check me out so that I can confidently know if I was fine or not. I will not be going ever again. Already as a black woman I must advocate for my own health time and again because people do not believe me or take me seriously, this was one of those moments.
