Fast to order and not long to have the food ready! Ordered at kiosk and prob in 10 mins we had the food brought to our table. We were hungry but not too hungry. Ordered sushi tacos, chicken and the crab meat. We agreed both delicious. Also the shrimp tempura appetizer which was piping hot and flavorful. Fast, convenient, and pretty good ramen in the heart of college park. I dropped in on a Game Day Saturday, ordered at the kiosk, and had my food less than 5 minutes later. The Qu Ramen was okay, the broth was super flavorful and there was plenty of mix-ins. If you're in the area, it's worth a try but not a place I'd go out of my way for (like Jinya) Heads up, there are only about 4 tables inside so be prepared to take it to go if they're full. read more

We came here since we wanted a quick dinner after moving our boys out of their dorms. This is an order up at the counter place, with several tables and some seating at a counter. It was clean and the menu items were in several areas for people to see. TBH, I am not a ramen fan but the rest of the family are. Two family members ordered the A6, which is a beef and ramen dish, one family ordered the chicken teriyaki with ramen, and I did a custom order of hibachi, with chicken and soy sauce, vegetables, rice, a spring roll and a side of yum-yum dipping sauce. The A6 ramen was a hit, with a tasty both and perfectly cooked ramen egg. The family member that ordered the teriyaki chicken said that the chicken tasted like salmon and gave his dish an "alright" rating. My hibachi dish was really salty. Yes, I realize I ordered it cooked with soy sauce. I guess I'm used to using low salt soy sauce. At least the veges weren't over cooked. As for the spring roll, it was doughy and unappealing. So, since I'm not a ramen fan, I doubt I will be a repeat patron. read more

A great quick service restaurant in College Park! I really enjoyed the hibachi meal quite a bit, which came with ample protein, great sauce, and delicious vegetables too! The egg roll and dumplings weren't great, but they were pretty tasty! The Oreo mousse cake was a great way to end the meal. This must be loved by College students because I was not impressed. It's close to their campus and students probably don't have much experience eating years of legit ramen. To them; it must be amazing. To me? This tastes like sink water. It was just not good. I always come for lunch and get the hibachi with chicken and steak with the fly lice, sometimes noodles if I'm feeling naughty. They give good portions too. I was feeling under the weather because of all the changes in temperatures, so I thought a nice warm bowl of ramen would get me back on track. My new favorite spot is in Columbia, but I wasn't feeling up for the drive and I'm out of range for delivery. Of course I search Yelp for the best Miso ramen in my area and Qu Japan had the best reviews. I placed a delivery order for their Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Chicken Gyoza, and a the steak and chicken Hibachi. Once everything was delivered, I was disappointed to realized their miso both for ramen is the same miso soup they give for the hibachi rice dishes aka, the miso broth is thin and pretty flavorless. The pork was juicy and flavorful, so that made up for the broth not having a lot of depth, but overall that made the dish less then filing. Also, the noodles didn't taste fresh at all. The gyoza were pretty standard. Even though they were pan seared, they didn't have a crunch on them like I was expected. I can't speak for the hibachi entree, because someone else ate it, but I can say that it didn't come with any yum sauce even though it was on the order ticket. Decided I wanted ramen for lunch and figured why not check out Qu Japan. Who says you have to eat ramen just when it's cold out?? I got the Signature Ramen which has all of the things I love. I waited a few minutes and my order was out in about five minutes. I enjoyed my ramen, it had plenty of all of the various meats and was flavorful. I wish there were the additional seasonings given like at other restaurants to make it spicy but it was still good. I'll definitely come back here next time I'm craving ramen. My badminton team and I (about 14 people) came to this place after our matches. There were enough seats for us that Saturday afternoon, so it wasn't packed at all. The interior was really nice and decorative. They had a ramen menu and a hibachi menu. Employees were kind and welcoming. I got the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen that came with five pieces of cha sui (roasted pork), soft boiled egg, fish cake, bok choy, and bean sprouts. The noodles were cooked nicely Al dente, but broth was VERY bland. I did not taste any tonkatsu richness from it. It seemed like they watered down the broth because miso is very strong, but I couldn't even taste that. The pork was decent as was the egg. I also got their matcha cheesecake for dessert. It had a good matcha flavor which I was surprised. But it was overly sweet and tasted a lot like white chocolate for some reason. Overall, I didn't think this meal was worth $18. I was disappointed at the broth's blandness, but the amount of meat was good. I probably wouldn't come back here again. read more

ORDER Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen - This nice size bowl was filling and delicious. They have the right amount of noodles and broth. Some ramen places don't give you a lot of noodles but the legit ones do. The broth was yummy. The chasu, fixings and egg was also yummy. Great customer service. They also have a create your own ramen which is nice option to have. Qu Japan opened four years ago. Their hibachi is good but their portion sizes are a little small. I'm very picky about my ramen and tend to be too crucial, so I'll share my friends' thoughts... TL;DR: Interchangeable ramen shop, thin broth, good portions, relatively cheap. Ramen shops in the US that mostly make variations of tonkotsu or miso ramen are extremely common, and Qù Japan falls into that mold. It doesn't usually make for a spectacular bowl of ramen, but you kind of know what to expect. That was the case here. I ordered the tonkotsu miso ramen. I could taste some miso flavor, but very little of the tonkotsu pork base and the broth was very thin. I'm skeptical that they make their broth in house, since I didn't see any giant stock pots on the range. Noodles were a little overdone and didn't have much bounce to them, despite being your typical alkali noodles-in-a-bag affair. Could've used more menma bamboo shoots, and the bok choy was surprisingly underdone. The portions are large and I was surprised to see five thin slices of pork belly chashu. The chashu wasn't anything spectacular, but they probably had the most flavor punch of anything in the bowl. The whole thing came to $13, which isn't a bad deal for what it is. Service was fine and quick, the interior similarly so, other than the image of the oiran courtesan on the wall that I found myself staring at as I waited for my bowl. Note: A possibly cool bit of information is that I suspect the owner/workers are Chinese. As such, the pinyin rendition Qù Japan means "Go to Japan." Alternatively, it could be saying "Cool Japan." Either way, I would love to go to Japan right now, but I'm more responsible than the IOC. read more

My picky teen says 5 stars! Our original plan was to go to Bentleys for my nostalgia, but we ended up here instead. A happy choice. We both got make your own hibachi. For her, chicken teriyaki with snow peas, broccoli and carrots and white rice. For me, beef teriyaki with pineapple, onion, broccoli, carrots and snow peas. I tried both the yum yum sauce (tastes like the typical sauce from a Japanese steakhouse) and the ginger sauce (my preference). Both dishes were delicious and filing for under $20 total. We didn't realize they come with fried egg, since you don't choose that. She picked hers out, but it was very good. Small, cute place and friendly service. Soft rock doesn't match the Japanese bits. Staff utilization is also minimal, order and pay at the counter, pick up when your number is called, bus your tray when done. I went with the eponymous Qu bowl. Good sized portion for $12 in this high rent area, and includes a number of toppings. That appealed to me, since many noodle joints will nickel and dime you on those. Nevertheless, I found the food tasty but not exciting. The broth was very mild until I stirred in the spicy flavoring, and while the noodles were fresh and al dente they did not pick up a lot of flavor even with vigorous slurping. The toppings also lacked the extreme freshness that characterizes Japanese cuisine. I suspect a central prep kitchen as there's not much room for cooking here.
