We were looking for a lunch spot on New Year's Day and lots of restaurants were closed, but we did find that Quaker Steak & Lube was open. It was packed. The wait time was about 15 minutes to be seated. And we were told that there were several large parties there not to give up on the server, but we would be served as soon as possible. We waited for our food for about 35 to 40 minutes, which we knew it would be a bit longer, but since they have TVs all around and there were sports on, it didn't seem like that long. They communicated all along where we were in the process. Which it's always helpful when they let you know they haven't forgotten about you. The salad was a large proportion. The cheese curds were out of this world. This might be my go to salad each time I come. All in all we spent about two hours there and the place had emptied out by the time we were finished. I have to give kudos to this restaurant for going out of their way to make my order right. I ordered a salad for pick up and got home with missing items. I called, they made not one new salad but two for me to make things right. The salad there is actually one of my favorites so I came away a very satisfied customer. We've done all you can eat wings here with friends since 2012. I've always said when you have a good server and good runners this is worth $20-$25 easy rather than the $15 it's priced at. The reason I bring price into this is because I've never eaten all you can eat somewhere where I genuinely feel as if they don't want to serve you what you paid for. Now over the years we have met servers we liked and we requested them over and over and always tipped them great for the hard work. But lately I feel as if after 12 wings they start coming out slow, taking your order slow, and just overall don't make you feel welcome. I do wish they would figure this out as this is the only thing myself and a lot of people I know come to Quaker for. If they were to lose this they would lose a lot of business. I know you stay open to make money so if needed raise that price $5 but in doing so you need to make sure you are staffed correctly on Tuesday's knowing the fan base that only comes in for that special. Also Milford's manager was awful to my friend who simply asked for better service or a comp and she comped him and said goodbye. So she lost a table full of cash rather than saying "sir as the manager I'll run the orders out personally" I mean that's just one line she could of used to save the bad reviews and get money for the business. Tacos at QS&L? Yes! QS& L has the most amazing and delicious shredded chicken tacos. They are flavored to perfection. You can get either 2 or 3 served with a side rice, black bean & feta cheese. This is my order every time I go. I am not a bone in wing fan so this is perfect for me! They are packed full of flavor, crunch and topped with sour cream and pico de gallo. Mouth watering and satisfying for sure! You can also order this with fish instead. The bad: They are messy. I'd never paid much attention or thought about visiting a Quaker Steak & Lube, but when we were looking for restaurants, my wife mentioned here and said she'd been a long time ago and really enjoyed their wings. I had never been, and even though it's a chain, I'm always interested in going to new restaurants. We knew we wanted to get some wings, and ordering a large (24 wings) and just getting a couple different sauces seemed like the best way to try a variety. It did cost $0.99 to get three different sauces on the order, which I thought was a little unnecessary, but the price was a little below what we'd pay at a Buffalo Wild Wings or similar anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. We decided on trying the Louisiana Lickers, Golden Garlic, and Kentucky Bourbon. This gave us a nice assortment of spice, sweetness, and just general strong flavor. Our order didn't take very long at all to come out, which we were happy about, and it was plenty of food for both of us to eat our fill and have some leftovers. The Louisiana Lickers had some heat that I wasn't expecting, but was very tasty. The Kentucky Bourbon had a lot of flavor and countered the spiciness of the Louisiana very nicely. But the Golden Garlic had to be our favorite. Intense garlic flavor that paired beautifully with either the ranch or blue cheese dip that came with the wings. I will say that the wings were only warm, not really hot when they came out, but it certainly wasn't too bad. They weren't cold. Overall, I would certainly compare the experience to a Buffalo Wild Wings: not on the same scale as a five-star restaurant downtown or local gem, but definitely a good evening and somewhere that seems great for a larger party. read more

It had been years since we had eaten here, so we decided to give QS&L another try today for lunch. The place was almost deserted. I originally had decided to get the nacho platter, but after finding out that it was $14.50, I decided to pass. They had a Monday burger special--any burger for $6.99. That was quite a savings, so we both got one. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was great--the burger was very meaty--best burger I've had in a while. I also had a bowl of chili which was kinda small, but good. We wanted fried pickle spears but those have been at least temporarily replaced with pickle strips that look like thick French fries. They were OK, but I would really have preferred spears which have less breading comparatively. I liked the jalapeno ranch dressing that accompanied them. I had a side salad instead of fries with the burger--it was huge and, again, with the jalapeno ranch dressing. Note that they have coupons in Reach magazine, but the daily specials are excluded. We saved more on the burgers than we would have with a coupon, anyway. read more

Then another server came to our table and we told him we had already ordered and it seem like he had an attitude about it. He never really check back in with us to refill drinks or bring us the check I had to go to the bar to get someone to get our check. They are not trained properly as servers and it seems like floor managers don't care and are nonexistent on the floor to monitor these young servers. read more

Super friendly service and okay greasy food joint. Hubs had never been and we were in the area so why not. Let's start off with my toddler, because she had the most fun here. First off, she killed our appetizer of cheese curds & chips. I can't blame her because they both were delicious and the portion was huge! Typically curd portions are small but not here. Choc milk and the meal came in an adorable racing car box that she loved with free goldfish crackers. She scored. Mama scored with $1.99 kids meals on Mondays. Next was hub's Monday Burger night butter burger for $6.99. Comes with chips but substitute fries for $1 more. He didn't realize this is a half pound burger until he got it. Also the butter burger is literally burger + bun + butter. Once he realized his mistake, he asked for a slice of cheese and our waitress happily obliged. He wasn't overwhelmed or underwhelmed, just kinda blah. I mean, half a pound is a bigggg portion tho... too big. As for me, I went with the buffalo chicken dip with house pita chips. It's served as an appetizer so I ended up bringing 80% of it home. The pita is awesome, crunchy yet soft. The dip was great, cheese was super thick. I've had better blue cheese but it was still okay. I loved the celery pieces on top, though. This is a first for me with the celery and the crunch really hit the spot. I would definitely get it again. We also managed to get in there during happy hour. I couldve sworn the waitress said appetizers were half off but our bill did not reflect that. Maybe they're only $2/off during happy hour. The entire restaurant was absolutely filthy and most of the waiters were on their phones. Food was subpar, the cocktails were terrible without any ice in them at all. And, it was overpriced. A lovely Quaker Steak and Lube location. It's just as nicely themed as all of them. If you like old cars, mechanic things, racing, or motorcycles, you'll probably love it here. There's usually an old school car in the parking lot most days in warmer weather (and inevitably, some idiots parked in the motorcycle parking spots with their cars). Food came out super fresh and super hot. Our waitress was really attentive, and she checked back in often about getting us new drinks. Beer was served cold. Our favorite is always the wings and french fries. Both are amazing. We don't usually deviate from that - and they excel at both of those things at most of their locations. We have been doing birthday dinners at Quaker Steak for the past 10 - 15 years. Tonight was a table of 13 people for my birthday. It was cold - 6 degrees outside. Somehow the staff managed to convince my party that near the back, on a wall of windows, was the warmest place in the restaurant - wrong. Initially the apps and drinks came out fast, then our waitress disappeared. When we finally ordered it took a long time for the food to come out. The first wave of food came out, and then we waited another 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come out. When it did, food was delivered cold, missing items, no plates or napkins, and no waitress in sight. I had to go to the bar, where my waitress was talking with a friend and request plates and napkins. Then my granddaughter had to go to the bar and request water because the waitress never came back. I finally went looking for the manager. I explained to her that it was FREEZING where we were sitting, food was delivered cold or not at all and we had a really bad experience at the restaurant. She told me she would be back and let me know what discounts would be applied to the bills. WRONG - the manager never came back. The waitress came back and delivered the bills. Only 2 bills had discounts, and there were still items on the bill that weren't served. When the manager came back, she didn't like the fact that I still had a problem and accused me of being disrespectful. I'm sorry, you're bothered by the fact that I'm still being billed for something I did not receive? The bills were delivered once again and had discounts. This by far was the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant, and I'm 67 years old. The waitress told us QSL is under new ownership, but I could find no record of that. The waitress and manager had differing stories about the entire situation, so either one, or both, were not telling the truth. In any event, after all those years, QSL has lost long time customers. read more

Not going to lie--This restaurant is more about the sports pub and Grill and the racecar decorations throughout the restaurant more than the food. However, anyone who goes into this restaurant needs to remember that it is a sports bar and grill--think Buffalo wild rings with a NASCAR/dirtbike theme instead. I walked in and not really knowing what to expect, but it only took a few minutes to look at the majority of the crowd of people, as well as the environment to realize that I had just stepped into a sports bar. I honestly checked this restaurant out due to having some gift certificates. I was craving a good old fashion hamburger, and unfortunately, it just did not hit the spot. It was okay but there are so many great restaurants that feature burgers in the area... Definitely a little greasy, but perhaps equivalent to most sports bar and grill hamburgers. I think they are more famous for their wings, so I'm sure those are definitely more of a crowdpleaser. On a positive note, they had a nice band playing outside on the patio. It was pretty loud, so we chose to go inside... But if you were looking for a place to hang out outside on a nice summer day, the patio is definitely large enough. Bonus, if you could drive a motorcycle, you will fit right in! They had specific parking spots for motorcycles, and I'm pretty sure they do some car shows throughout the summer. This place has lost it. The restaurant was dirty, and the food and service has gone way downhill. We recently got nachos. it looked like a three-year-old threw some stuff on a tray. the chips were burnt, and the cheese was not melted, not even sure how that happens. To top it all off, when we sat at the bar, we had to ask the bartender to wipe the bar down. Then had to ask for a menu. Then had to ask for a beer. Then napkins. Well social distancing is null and void tonight. Drunk Patron's hanging on everyone. One woman was passing her baby to the hostess and other people at the bar......no masks. Most of the time the outdoor hostess did not have a mask on. Bartender...no masks. Someone sneezed and an employee off the clock was yelling "gotta keep the corona going". I'm sure the people who died of corona virus would think that's funny too. My wife stopped the manager and asked what protocal was she said "all employees are to wear masks". I asked her why the ones outside weren't and she said "it's hot", and walked away from us. I asked the hostess if the kitchen staff are wearing masks, and she said " they are supposed to", ans shook her head "NO". I have been going to there since they opened, very disappointed on how its heading. I'm not overly scared but I'm cautious since my wife has 2 autoimmune disorders. Great patio for eating outside with friends. Regularly scheduled car shows make this a popular spot for car enthusiasts as well. Food is average and service can be slow. Our waitress on this visit however did a superb job of keeping our drinks refilled. Fish and chips were moist but somewhat flavorless. Onion rings were very good - nice size and juicy. Nachos are a pretty good sized dish although we didn't like that the cheese was melted cheddar instead of normal nacho cheese like you would expect. In the last couple years though, aside from Bike night, our experience there is sub par, when it comes to service. No matter where you sit, at a table, at either bar, whatever.....the service is HORRIBLE.! They seem well versed with the menu, but they're not friendly, they just set your food, drinks plates, etc down and race away. They always seem busy accomplishing nothing. It's so strange. Even at the bar. They're constantly moving, and yet everyone is waiting for the refill, everyone is asking about the food...and then sometimes when you're sitting there with an empty beer, the waitresses start chatting, and ignoring the customers.
