We enrolled our toddler in swim lessons at the YMCA Quakertown branch, and the experience has been extremely frustrating due to poor communication and lack of organization. We drive from Allentown for these classes, so clear and accurate information is important. When registering, the online schedule showed a morning summer class, and the front desk was able to sign us up for it. However, when we arrived, we were told that no summer morning class actually existed. As a result, we wasted our time driving there, and my daughter is now behind in her lessons because of the misinformation. What made the situation even more frustrating was the lack of accountability. When I tried to discuss the issue with the front desk, I was simply told that it was the aquatics department's responsibility. As a customer, I shouldn't have to navigate internal department issues after being given incorrect information by YMCA staff. To make matters worse, the only summer classes available for my daughter's age group are at 6:30 PM. For toddlers, that's an unreasonable time slot, as it is very close to bedtime for many families. I understand that scheduling challenges happen, but better communication, coordination between departments, and more family-friendly class options are needed. We chose the YMCA because of its reputation for serving families, but unfortunately our experience has been disappointing. read more

Quakertown Y is my new fitness center. Moved. I have been working out at the Doylestown Y for many years.Tough to beat Dtown Y as a work out center but I must say Qtown Y has everything I need. I am a Silver Sneaker. The cost of going is covered under my supplement plan. Nice! There is a lot of equipment. I visit two rooms that have everything I need. Did I mention they have a beautiful pool? Well, they do. Parking is ok. I have found parking is much easier than the Doylestown Y. Everything in the building is clean as a whistle. Free coffee. It just does not get any better than this. I did not think I was going to like leaving D town Y but Qtown Y is a nice facility. read more

Tiffany is unprofessional and doesn't know how to handle toddlers... She's so quick to dismiss kids and cant ever redircet them correctly and thinks shes right all the time. Melissa sits on her phone, rolls her eyes at kids and parents all night and doesn't know how to be a proper childcare babysitter... She will also dismiss your child so fast. Maybe the stay and play staff should be more professional and do their jobs correctly or hire the proper workers. read more

It was my first visit as a member with the wife and kids. Jabba the Hutt at the front desk was rude as hell. It must have been close to lunch. Extremely rude to a brand new member not understanding the process. Passes me off to a way more helpful coworker with a smile as wide as the day as long. After making a remark to Jabba's co-worker, she must have had swallowed an Ewok or snickers bar because she changed from the wicked witch of west to the good witch of the north faster than I could click my heels three times. Huge dirty teeth smile and an over the top welcome to everyone else who entered. Otherwise, gym equipment is new and clean as was the changing room. read more

The gym is fine overall, but the woman that works at the front desk in the morning is extremely rude and condescending. All I did was ask about the pool closure and she immediately jumped down my throat about it rather than just giving me the information. That's not how you treat a paying customer! That interaction is making me question whether I should even continue my membership at this gym. Why would you put someone with an attitude like that in a customer facing role? read more

We love the Quakertown y! We've done multiple kids programs, and the gymnastics program is top notch with caring and qualified coaches. The gym has great equipment, though it gets very busy (almost unusable) when schools are off or when they offer free use to non members. The staff are the nicest people, and the facility is always clean. read more

Despite covid restrictions being lifted classes are still limited and held outside in extreme heat, yet they have audacity to charge full price. Babysitting house are cut to 2 hours a day. They also close earlier then they used to read more

I go here everyday after school and have kinda stopped because of how rude and unwelcoming the staff is they are always pushing people to leave and give you looks some of them are ok.but overall is unwelcoming. read more

Every time I go to this YMCA in Quakertown. The employees are rude especially the people at the front desk on Sunday morning. Who does the hiring? and is being rude a must to get the job. In addition, they are paid to talk the on their mobile phone the whole time. read more

If you are looking to swim, this is not the place. Two swim teams most of the year and only 1 lap lane from 3-8:30. After 8:30 is open swim. So unless you like sharing a lane with 4-6 people, this is not the place for you. The rest of the facility is ok...nothing special but not too bad for the price. I have had my child in the Pre-K Program at the Upper Bucks YMCA, and I am presently looking for another facility/program to enter my child. Reasons: 1. They do not have an outside area for the students to play. The students do not spend any time outside. 2. They do not have a bathroom located inside the childcare area. One of the two teachers has to take half of the class to the bathrooms located in another hall. 3. They do not have separate areas for the Before/After School, Kindergarten, Pre-K school children. It is more like a daycare than a structured learning environment. 4. When I had a question about the program, it took the staff that handles all the Childcare programs days to return my call and she was unhelpful, and made it seem I was wasting their time. These are the major reasons why I give the Upper Bucks YMCA one star. If you do not qualify for their financial aide, I would not spend your hard earned money for their subpar Pre-K program or their other Childcare Programs. read more

The basketball court is never open for basketball. If you pay for a full membership you would think you would have more opportunities to use the court your paying for more than 4hrs a week. The floors are always dirty everybody slides around as well. Even for the schedualed days the classes before its open run late and nobpdy seems to care. read more

Love the classes for my daughter who is 18 months (swimming, dance, music, tumbling) and the babysitting. The workout center itself is a little small but never too crowded. Staff is friendly. The pool is great! read more

My family loves all the activities at the Upper Bucks YMCA. They have excellent children after school programs including art, tee-ball and even Zumba. The staff is fantastic and friendly. The youth sports counselor is awesome with the kids and the fitness staff is enthusatic and encouraging. Their acquatics program is great for the inexperienced to experienced swimmer, offering various levels of instruction. My only complaint is that the pool could be warmer :) Their new fitness center is phenomenal. Lots of weight training with a second floor full of cardio equipment. Excellent facility! read more

Overall, this YMCA is a nice place for a variety of things. I primarily use the gym to workout a couple times a week. They have a fantastic cardio selection, however, the weightlifting area is lacking a bit. The weighted leg extension and leg press are terrible. The leg extension rocks every time you bring your legs up. The leg press sticks when you get to the bottom. I've had to cut the amount of weight I can press in half when I use the weighted leg press. These two machines need to be replaced. read more
