I have been wanting to get a gate for many years. There just always seems to be something more important at the time. So we decided that we were going to finally take the plunge and get one! I had heard of Quality Fence - I used to drive by the shop every day on my way home. It's a local business, a small business, and I decided to give them a call. They came out and measured and we had a conversation about the type, color and all the other details. He gave me a "Ball Park" idea of the cost and said he'd get back to me - which he did in just a couple of days. I wanted the gate to be ONE gate across the driveway, from wall to house - more than 11 feet. I didn't want to open two gates every time I open it. And I wanted a "Door" inside the gate. Because my kitchen door is on the front side of the gate, I didn't want to have to open the whole big gate to get through to the back every time I went that way - which is many times a day sometimes, and I didn't want to just leave it opened. That defeats the purpose of having a gate. He suggested that I take a picture of a gate in the neighborhood that I like and they would design one like it. The price was right around where we were thinking and decided to just go ahead and do it! We got a schedule and wanted it to be done before Christmas. It took about a week and a half for the installation. First they came out and installed posts on both sides of the driveway - one big one to support the gate. And a smaller one to stop it from swinging and to latch. A few days later the came with the gate. I have to say, "IT'S a WORK of ART!" It's absolutely AWESOME. The gate FAR exceeds my expectations. Its very sturdy with 2" steel frame and 1" steel rails - and powder coated white. The top is arched and decorated with what's called "Imperial." The inner door is taller than I thought it would be - which, again is a PLUS! I have to say that this gate FAR EXCEEDED my expectations. It is awesome.
