Front desk is always rude. Don't think of checking in before 3pm because every room is occupied until then. I have stayed here multiple times for work and they always are awful to foreigners. Rooms are fine nothing special. read more

The elegant reception and the friendly staff were a good start. Our room was a bit smaller than we'd imagined, but the bathroom had neat space-saving sliding doors and the mattress was very comfortable. Breakfast was served in a nicely decorated open space where you could see the chefs preparing what was no doubt not only breakfast but also lunch items to enjoy in the fine looking restaurant. While the fish and weisswurst (the special sausage reminding us that we were in Bavaria) made for a very good breakfast selection, the coffee was undrinkable - perhaps also reminding us that we should've been drinking beer. One of the nice reception staff tried to answer our question about the name of the hotel with a reference to three Moors that was somewhat contradicted by what we later overheard in a tour in the Cathedral. While I still don't quite understand the connection between three monks and a hotel in Augsburg, the current hotel evidently wishes to make some historical connections to a place that was once located here but destroyed several times - and uses the leitmotif of the three Moors present in the hotel's design to this effect.

The place is clean and the front desk staff is generally inviting. We found that not all the staff that work in the hotel are courteous. I don't know if it's because we were pegged as americans or what. We mentioned it to our local friends and, unbeknownst to my wife and I, they called the hotel and complained about the service at breakfast. We did not know he had contacted the hotel until after. He felt embarrassed about our experience. My wife and I didn't take it personally. We had the worry that we would get to the hotel after hours but were told that if we knew we would be late we would be given instructions on how to get in the door and that our keycard would be waiting on the front desk. We found that quite nice. The room was a little smaller than expected but that was our fault for not paying great attention to the online pictures and descriptions. Would we stay there again on our way through Augsburg? Probably not. But four stars regardless.

When we first arrived to the city of Augsburg and saw the hotel from the outside, i though "where…read morethe hell did we get ourselves into" small, and not very inviting from the outside; however, having a cranky toddler in need of getting out of the car, we gave it a try. Upon entering the hotel, the host was very welcoming and accommodating to our language needs, as our Deutsch is "einbischien ". When we got into the elevator and staircase, i thought, my god this is tiny, but walking into the room we noticed they really maximized their use of space because everything was very spacious. Their breakfast buffet was DELICIOUS and with a large variety. Definitely recommend this hotel
