I will never stay at this hotel again. The room was poorly designed and not easy to navigate, when walking by the second bed to the Bathroom I had to turn sideways because there was no space. The bedspreads had holes in them some of which look like cigarette burns. The television did not work, when you turned it on the screen was pixelated. There were burn makes in the carpet from the iron. The rom had a musty smell. The next morning when we went to the breakfast bar, the room was crowded (I get it lots of people want to eat breakfast), many options were unavailable, when asked for more they would bring one or two out at a time instead of a full tray. It wasn't too bad, I had a late check and received a 30 minute extension on check out. Staff was helpful and polite. Room was comfortable. Only issues were the air was cold all night. If I turned it off, there was an odor and when I switched it to heat, there was an odor. Also, the toilet had a clog and thankfully, I didn't have to do anything serious. read more

Almost certain most of the front desk staff is racist. I would avoid this hotel if you are white. There is no other reason for their behavior. Incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. Had to change rooms multiple times due to the ceiling leaking on me while I was laying on my bed and an electrical problem so bad we were concerned a fire could start. The room keys need to be replaced constantly. Drug addicts that don't stay there ALLOWED by the manager to eat the hotel breakfast and harass guests for food. If you complain, they get angrier. Never a single apology, constant attitude whenever we needed something. The manager was useless. Don't stay here. read more

Maybe I'm feeling sympathetic. This is a decent three star hotel. Maybe two and a half. You wonder how a place like this still stands. It is old but also lacks any charm. Old stucco painted walls of the 80s variety. I mean the entire walls and ceiling. Furniture is chipped. Bathroom tiles are cracked. This is on the surface kind of a dive. But not unlivable. I didn't spend much time here. Only to sleep. In our society we need cheap places for people to stay. They can't all be expensive hotels that price people out. If you have no expectations for greatness but just need a place to rest your head. This will do. Many new rentals are being built across the street. My guess is this place will be torn down soon. It's on its last gasp of life. I'm glad to leave. But grateful to have had it for a very quick stop in the area. read more

By far one of the nastiest motels I've stayed in. I only stayed one night then booked another hotel elsewhere. As soon as I walked in there was a odd smell in the room, and I should have just left when I opened the mini fridge and two roaches ran out. Unfortunately it was late when I checked in and I was exhausted from my dialysis treatment earlier so I didn't have it in me to pack my stuff back into an Uber and search for a hotel in the middle of the night. There was a baby roach in the shower along with someone else's body hair, two of the outlets were not useable due to being loose or having metal prongs broken off inside the outlet. If I'd paid like $40 for this room then I'd expect these conditions but at nearly $80 a night one would think they'd put in a little more effort to keeping the property in clean and appealing conditions. Definitely won't stay here again! read more

stayed here recently three nights. Room rates pretty reasonable room was clean sheets clean nice size room two queen beds pretty comfortable. Across the highway close to Denny's my favorite restaurant. Close to Walmart Target Ross bus service close to Yellow line Huntington so you can get around with no problem leave your car parlay the hotel go into DC Maryland. Really just awful in every way. Dirty, rusty spots on metal pieces in the room. Paint was peeling off the walls, and actually resulted in me leaving the very moment I got in the room to go somewhere else. Horrid. Steer clear! read more

We needed only a place to spend the night, near to Mount Vernon - and this place filled the bill for a very reasonable rate. We found the room (double queen) to be very spacious, and the bathroom area was also quite large, clean, and well lit. The pool was in use while we were there, and even when there was only one older person relaxing poolside, there was a young lifeguard there. He looked pretty bored, but I can't remember the last hotel/motel I visited that even had a lifeguard. The neighborhood does look a little sketchy, but there are security cameras all over the campus and they are monitored. We never felt the least bit unsafe. Overall, I liked our room and the hotel. I would certainly stay there again. read more

Ok, I booked this hotel for two reasons: 1. Free WiFi 2. Pool Now, I was happy with the pool. Played in it for hours. The WiFi, on the other hand, was annoying the crap out of me. I used my data plan for most of the nights spent there. The hotel was about 30 minutes from the national monuments and 15 minutes from my brother's fort. Luckily, I booked with Expedia, so I paid a lot less for the going rate. Otherwise, I would've raised more hell for having spotty internet. read more

This place was a decent 3 star. It wasn't too great, but not horrible. The bed has too many lumps and lots of small pillows, making the sleep a little bit uncomfortable. The breakfast is decent, containing the essentials of waffles, eggs, and fresh fruit. The room has all the necessities, I would definitely recommend this hotel, for a quick stay. You get what you pay for, a decent place to spend the night. read more

All hotels in the DC area was booked so we had to trave the 20 minutes to Alexandria to a hotel, But it paid off, the price was right and the place was very clean and neat and put together, very nice staff and clean rooms. It was worth the trip. read more

The Quality Inn Mount Vernon is an excellent hotel in its category, which I would define as "low-priced chain motel." My room is clean, and equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker. The maid service is polite and communicates clearly. The complimentary "continental breakfast" includes pancakes, waffles, crispy bacon and pre-cooked scrambled egg pucks. I didn't try the eggs, but I was very happy with the cereal, bacon and juice. It's easy to park and I found my room quiet even this motel is only a half block off a pretty busy highway. There are many restaurants and shops along Richmond Highway, making this motel well located if you're in the Mount Vernon area. Oh, and the price is very reasonable! I will gladly stay here on my next visit to this part of Virginia. read more

This place was probably one of the worst places I've ever stayed at. Their were some questionable people staying there. In our first room, the door didn't lock so we were moved to another room. Our second room was better, but we had to squish past one of our beds to get to the bathroom. My bed had stains on the top cover of the sheets and the middle sheet was ripped along the right side. When we woke up the next morning, there was no water at all in our room due to a water main break. This was not really their fault, but just enhanced the bad experience thus far. We were given a key to a third room where we could shower. Normally, when I stay at a place I want to feel safe and clean, and I only want to see the inside of one room. I would never stay at this place again. If I could give this a rating of 0/5 stars, I would. read more

We booked this hotel through Priceline'sexpress deals. Let me just say that when we arrived, I did not like the surroundings so I was a little wary. But that goes to show to never judge a book by its cover. The check in was very quick and the lady was very nice, once we got to the room it was very comfortable and clean, I was a lot better than I expected. The complimentary breakfast was a big plus. Very convenient hotel, clean rooms and all appropriate amenities. Was a pit stop on a road tour for me, had no complaints whatsoever. If you are traveling through the area, I think this is the best quality/price deal you will find around. Breakfast was not too shabby either. Would definitely recommend. read more

Checked in and was told that they only had smoking rooms available thought nothing of it I stay in hotels often so I was to worries seeing that more often then not smoking rooms usually don't smell to bad BUT just opening the door an the stench of stale cigarettes was incredible I travel with fabreeze so after unloading about half the can in the room it was staring to not feel so gross until I checked my beds only to find MULTPLE burn hole all over one beds comforter an weird stains on the other I just decided to suck it up an stay my night but won't be staying here again. read more

Looks more like an old motel. Showing its age. Not that clean, with cobwebs in the corners of the room, stains on the carpet. The staff was friendly. Limited parking. Breakfast area was a converted guest room and could barely accommodate all the guests. $100 a night, which is what we paid, was a bit much for the level of quality. It seemed like it had been about 20 years since it had been updated. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Safe, comfortable, exceptionally clean, and reasonably priced....We stayed here the second week in June. Lots of children around, but seldom heard them when in our room, that is just above the pool. The complimentary breakfast is one of the best I've seen. There is plenty of parking, laundry, and it's located within a block of a Denneys, Taco Bell, and a 7 Eleven. Well, I was looking for the cheapest place the seemed decent and wasn't far from D.C. This is what I came up with. After arriving and checking everything out, I can see why this seemed like a deal. First, the good things: The staff was friendly and helpful. It was cheap compared to places any closer to D.C. It was not a far ride from D.C. It had food, convenience, and gas stations near by. It was a good sized room. I had the one bed suite. It had a couch, coffee table, desk, tv, bed, microwave, and a little refrigerator. They do provide a continental breakfast, I didn't check it out however. They have an outdoor pool and hot tub, but it was not opened yet when I was there. Now, for the bad things: The neighborhood there seemed pretty shady. The hotel did have a security guard watching the parking lot at night though. She was friendly too. The doors to the rooms or outside doors. There is no internal corridor at this hotel... it's kind of like a motel. From inside my room, I could see daylight around the door to my room. Doesn't seem safe or clean. Someone could probably easily kick your door down. And, bugs can easily crawl right through there. They provided plastic cups by the sink. They were in wrappers. But, they were all opened... opened enough were the whole cup can be removed. So, that made me question the cleanliness of them. That's all I can think of. Overall, it really wasn't a bad stay to me. I can put up with a lot to save some money. I'd probably be willing to shell out another $30 a night to get a place that is a bit nicer (and closer) to D.C. if I could find that next time. But, if not, I wouldn't be against staying here again. I was only there to sleep anyway. read more

A three star affair. My wife, daughter, and I were here for two nights to do some sight seeing. The room was clean and up to date. The issue was two fold. The breakfast has got to be in the smallest room in the whole motel. Cramped! Get everyone u would expect at 8:30 AM and forget about it. And typical old food. The rest of the place is old/- rusty signs, etc. next time, we will spend that bit extra for something nicer. read more

Another situation where my wife and I just needed a place for the night. Based upon this motel's review, we stayed here. We're glad we did. For the price of a Motel 6, we got a suite with a king-sized, very comfortable bed in a suite with a separate area with a sofa. The bath had a tub, and there were two sinks. The free Ethernet was very fast. In the morning, the free breakfast included bacon, Belgian waffles, toast, cereal, coffee, various kinds of juice, and yogurt. Everything was clean, and the sundries were complete. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and helpful. Only downside is it looks like finding a parking space could be challenging for late arrivals. We arrived at 10:30 and probably got the "last spot". read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I was booked to stay here about 2 weeks ago and upon arriving I noticed the area was a little sketchy. I still gave it a shot and I quickly regretted it. My room had a horrible odor and the carpets were extremely dirty which I'm sure perpetuated the smell. The tub had rust and the entire room was very outdated. I sprayed the room in and aired it out in hopes of getting the smell out, but that did not work. I checked it very late and at that point, I wanted some rest but the beds were absolutely horrific. In addition to it being uncomfortable they also had a horrible odor and questionable stains which made me and my guests check out immediately. When I expressed my concerns to the front desk they offered a second room which was equally horrible and unsanitary! The front desk receptionist was very rude to me and truly ignored my concerns and began talking about all the awards they have received which was very frustrating because it was well past 2 am when I had to check out. He had a very hostile tone which made me uneasy and when my fiance walked in, he immediately changed it. On top of that he was also lying about their policy and the steps I have to go through in order to her a refund. It has now been 2 weeks since and while I was promised a refund, I never received it. I traveled 30 minutes away and stayed at the holiday Inn quantico that was immaculate. Please, whatever you do- do not subject yourself to that hotel... it was the worst experience I have ever had and I will not be returning there. read more

Our Hotel room smelt of mildew or mold. It smelt like a swamp. One of the chairs was so stained from fluids and ripped that it looked like it belonged on the street corner in a rough neighborhood. The paint was chipping off the walls from humidity, and many of the walls, doors and ceilings were stained from dirt and the like. I was so struck by the filthiness of the room that I didn't even bother to go down to drink or eat anything from the offered breakfast. Just hoping I didn't contract bed bugs from this place. read more

The boy and I were going to a friend's wedding which came up a lot sooner than we remembered, and so found ourselves sitting in a car outside a Starbucks somewhere in Virginia with a laptop searching frantically through the AAA website for a cheap hotel near Fort Washington, MD. After a few frustrating attempts at contacting other places, we finally managed to get a hold of someone at this hotel. She was friendly and helpful, and booked us rooms for $79. We rolled in about an hour later and got settled in. The rooms are not insulated terribly well, and being on the first floor we did hear quite a bit of foot traffic that night. Also, there is a fire station nearby, so be warned if you are sensitive to sirens. The location was great in terms of being close to Mt. Vernon and Old Town Alexandria, and we only wish we'd had more time to sightsee. It is a good choice though if you're on a budget and don't mind being a little outside the city proper. read more
