I've had great interactions with the staff. Usually the lady who checks you in for breakfast remembers you and your room number day-to-day. The reception is very robust: open 24/7, takes many credit cards including AmEx, attentive to your needs to enter the parking lot, etc. Regular room cleaning, including replacement of toiletries, is available. The shampoo is a bit odd as it is the same as the hand soap but with a different label. If you have space to bring your own hair care products, I would.
Parking is free for guests in a courtyard behind the hotel. Desk staff have to push a button to open the gate for you which is uni-directional. I believe the parking lot isn't big enough if every guest brought a car but that'd be unusual.
One drawback of this location, compared to other more central Pau hotels, is that the block leading up to the hotel to the West can be a bit dicey at night with men smoking, drinking, asking you for money, etc. If you're a solo traveler, consider this safety aspect.
This hotel is within close proximity to shopping, the park, and restaurants. The city is very walkable. If you arrive on the train, you may have trouble walking to the hotel if your luggage is large and instead may use a taxi.
In general, the facility looks a bit 1990s and can use some renovation. The size of the rooms is sufficient, and the breakfast options are plentiful. This Quality Inn is not to be confused with the closeby Quality Suites which is extended stay style. read more
