After an assessment of the job by Five Star's, Adam, we received a quote detailing reasonable pricing. The job was scheduled, paint was delivered and we were informed when to expect the painter. The unrelenting heat and humidity caused us to wonder whether having a painter work (inside and outdoors) in the heat was a good idea. Scheduled to arrive at 7:00 A.M., Leroy arrived twenty minutes early to get started. From setting up for work in both areas, to finishing and cleaning up all the prep and protective covering he hung in the bathroom, Leroy completed his work carefully and efficiently. The ceiling in the bath looks wonderful. Two coats of black paint on our front doors have given the doors and our home a fresh appearance and reflect the work of a master painter. And go over the quotes very carefully. I didn't and on painting day found out what I was expecting was not what the painters had planned. They did work with me and got started. But then needed more money because they needed more paint. Shouldn't the professional know how much paint is required for the job? I spoke to another paint company who was shocked I was asked for more money after they were half way through the job. Do I have the option to say no? Not really, I need the job done. Also the communication between the scheduler and the painting team seems faulty, as I expressed clearly about fragrance allergies causing migraines yet no one seemed to care and arrived with cologne and scented clothing. So 5 star painting please fix that, a migraine is no joke. The photo attached is the "corrected" crown molding ... this wobbly line at the bottom is after I asked it to be redone and it's just getting worse because the guy added more caulk over the mess made before and immediately painted under it. Now I need to hire someone else.

Christian himself came out the next day and gave me a reasonable quote and paint samples to choose from. I decided on a paint color and Christian started immediately that week. He first handpainted the whole house after he covered all the windows, doors, and fixtures- then he sprayed the whole house- then hand rolled the whole house again. He…read moretalked me out of it insisting that this new flat paint is better, it won't stain, it's mold resistant, etc... It streaked, stained and looks like garbage. He sent some guys over that wiped down the bathrooms, which made it look better for a couple of weeks and then it came back. I now have to have these rooms repainted with semi-gloss - LIKE I ASKED FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE! They did a decent job otherwise, except the paint spots in the bath tub. Our neighbors across the street saw that we used these guys and so they used them too, same results. When a painter won't use the paint that you ask for, consider it a big red flag. I don't know if they were trying to save a buck or what, but I would not recommend these guys.

Barry, the owner, made an appointment to meet me to give me an estimate. He arrived on time and I walked him through what I wanted done. He took notes, discussed some options with me, and got back to me timely with a detailed estimate. His prices were very reasonable and less than what I had been quoted by someone else. When we scheduled the appointment for Barry and his crew to come out and perform the work, they arrived on time, worked diligently, and did a great job. These guys have been working together for years and it shows in their final product. They completed the job on time and Barry was definitely aware of working within my budget and making sure I was pleased with their work. I also received a follow up call from him to make sure that I was satisfied after the work was completed. I will definitely be calling him back when it is time to paint the exterior of my home.
