I needed a smog for my registration and I called the shop and the owner Pierre picked up and since it was my first time doing a smog I asked him what the process is. He told me because it says I need a "Star" smog check that it was a little different then a regular smog but he said he'd take care of me. So I went out to the shop and him and another employee greeted me with a lot of respect and appreciation. They took care of my smog in less than 15 min and that was it. He said the computer automatically sends a copy to DMV and he also gave me a copy as well. He's a very honest person and you can tell within a minute of talking to him. Definitely a hard working man. 10 STARS if it were possible! I originally called one week ago, and Pierre told me he had a family emergency and therefore to come back on Monday. I went back on Monday, and he asked me if I had just serviced my car. I told him, that I JUST literally came from the BMW dealership, they had performed an oil change, and I came straight to him for the smog check. He told me that I need to drive the car for a few days since the dealership had reset all the settings. He COULD have taken my money, and I would have failed the smog check. I followed his instructions. I went back today, and he told me what needed to be done. He could have charged me an additional fee, he could have failed me, charged me the fee and then told me what needed to be done. However, this is not Pierre's style. In conclusion, in my brief encounter with Pierre, he is rock solid. He is genuine. He cares, and he runs a clean, smooth, and efficient business. I live in Sherman Oaks, and even though he may be a short drive and there are other smog check stations, he is 110% worth the drive. I have a few cars... they will all be going to Pierre from now on for their smog checks... and I will most certainly be telling all my friends to support this small business owner. Super cool guy. Probably the best smog test place I've gone to yet. The owner was very nice and fun to talk to. I wasn't just sitting there twiddling my thumbs while he worked on my test. He warned me ahead of time that with my check engine light on there was a good chance it was going to fail the test. He said that if it failed, I could come back and only pay a small fee to have it re-tested. I said to hell with the risk and went ahead with it anyways. Turns out, her was right. I failed the test, but as I drove away the light turned off. As I cursed myself for not waiting another 10 minutes before doing the test I went back and he redid my test and I passed. I would definitely go back here again and I would recommend others go here too. read more

Really quick, friendly and professional! Came in for my smog check and was in-and out in less than 15 minutes. Pierre was really great about everything. It shares a plaza with other auto services like tires and rims, so if you're having trouble finding it look for a big black gate with a tire shop. It's also right across the street from Pollo Campero. Not necessarily a big thing, but when it was done Pierre backed my car into the spot so that I wouldn't have to back out when I left. I searched Yelp for all Smog Check stations in the San Fernando Valley having no bias at all and chose Quality Smog because of the Yelp profile and reviews. I called, asked what the best price he could do. He gave a good discount just for calling. Call ahead and you'll get a discount. I waited 5 minutes for Pierre to finish with the car in front me. He acknowledged me quickly and knew my name from the phone call. It took about 15 minutes and we mostly chatted about car stuff while he did the work. Can't get much better overall! read more

What a great place to get one's car smog tested! I called to ensure quick availability...Pierre gave me the green light! Ten minutes later he is testing the car and seven minutes later I am on Sepulveda busting a bitch to get home! I drive a 2009 Honda Accord and he explained to this ignorant woman all she needed to know about why she was here and what he was going to do. What a pleasant experience! Pierre is exactly what everyone says he is. I called and there was no initial answer, so I decided to wait a bit before I called again. He beat me to the punch and called me back within a couple of minutes and was very helpful with all of my questions. I mentioned Yelp and he said he would give the discount so from then on I was off. Usually going to any sort of shop in my neighborhood is tough because there aren't exactly displayed set prices and often sleezy scumbags will raise the price once they see me because I look white (I'm not). Pierre however was fair and we had a great conversation while he conducted my Smog test. Didn't pass the smog test at another place so I brought it here to be fixed. Pierre asked for my docs to see where I failed. He wanted to charge me $55 dollars for a diagnostic (when my check engine light was not even on) and an additional cost for all repairs (which I didn't mind). Seemed a little fishy (the diagnostic part) so I called another auto shop and the mechanic told me what the problem could possibly be just by reading him the info over the phone!!! Went in for a smog check today... Actually had my smog test done here two years ago, as well. Service was really fast, and Pier was very friendly. Talked to me about his shop and some of the differences between what he does vs those fast/cheap oil change places. I'm typically a Firestone person, however after chatting with Pier for a bit, I ended up having him do my oil change, too. Said he doesn't use recycled oil like they do at some of the other places (that's why it's so cheap!)... although his oil change wasn't expensive either -- $35, but it's going to a nice, honest hardworking company instead of a mega-chain. I'll definitely be back next time my car needs serviced! read more

BEST SERVICE SMOG CENTER. I called one late Saturday afternoon to inquire about a smog check for my car. Pier answered the phone and was very polite and professional. I ate my lunch in the waiting area which has 6 comfortable chair while he did the smog check. I was out out of there in less then 20 minutes.
