Luckily, her husband did the filling-up task. I paid at the pump. I had no problem inserting my Petro-Points card, 407 ETR discount card, and my credit card. I filled up my tank and all was good. It wasn't all that busy when I got there. However, it was when I left at around 5 pm. Weird! Gas prices in Peterborough are significantly lower than those in the GTA. I filled up at 105.6 cents a litre. Back in the GTA, it was at 116.9 cents a litre. I lucked out. This gas station is roomy and clean. No complains here. (419)

As I drove into the part of the city that I needed, I noticed that gas prices were significantly cheaper than in the greater Toronto area. It was 157.9 when I had left the GTA. Most gas stations were at 148.3. During our late lunch, my friend suggested a number of gas stations to visit. My tank was half full, so topping it off on a road trip was necessary. I found this Husky close to where I was. I had no problem pulling into the station. The gas pumps are older. It was a throwback to a simpler time. You couldn't insert your payment card. You had to prepay for gas by going inside the convenience store. It was kind of nice to deal with a human rather than a modern gas pump. The woman in the store was cheerful and helpful. She asked me how much I wanted to prepay. I went with $30. I asked what happens if I don't use up my entire $30. She said that the difference would automatically go back on my credit card. If it were a prepayment in cash, I'd have to come into the store and get the difference. I learned so much. I rarely prepay for gas. I swiped my Husky rewards card first. I then tapped my credit card to prepay for gas. Done! I thanked the woman and wished her a good day. She reciprocated. I then headed to the pump to fill up. $30 was perfect. I had a full tank of gas. In this area of Trent Hills, there's this gas station and another one across the street. I naturally went with this one that involved making a right turn into the gas station and readily pulling back onto the road. I was the only person at this gas station just after 8 pm. There was a male staffer in the convenience store. I paid at the pump. I had to do it twice, though. For some reason, on my first attempt to pay for gas with a credit card, my transaction got cancelled. With this particular credit card, the company does fraud checks. I thought that it may have done it here, but it was not the case. I think the payment system was acting up a bit. I tried the transaction again and it was approved. I went ahead and topped my gas tank up. I didn't need anything from the convenience store. It's nice to know that if you do need snacks or windshield washer fluid, you can get some here. You can earn Journie rewards here. I don't drop by Ultramar enough to warrant signing up for rewards. I'll need to do more research there to see if it's worth signing up.
