I can say, hands down, that Hall Green School is the nicest I have ever worked in. Pupils are polite and respectful (well, they were when I was there) and there seemed to be a mix of able bodied and disabled pupils who all got along fine and looked out for eachother. It was like being in another world and I would have loved to have gotten a long term placement there, even though it took me forever to get there each day from the Jewellery Quarter.

The teaching staff are friendly and on the most part really approachable. Whenever I have had questions or concerns I have always felt listened to. Indeed, any small suggestions I have made have been welcomed and I feel involved in the school. I would say that if there are any areas for change it would be on improved communication about every day information and lesson content. I also feel that more formal opportunities for parental involvement might work well in the future. There are a lot of parents out there who would like to be more involved but who aren't sure how to go about it, so maybe the Wheelies PTA needs to be more prominent. Overall though, a good school that has really happy children, which I think is the most important thing in the end because if your child isn't happy, they won't learn.

The school went through a couple of headteachers whilst i was there, mrs Yea and mr Jelly. It comprised of and still does have reception, years 1,2. And primary section comprising oy years 3,4,5 and lastly 6. They have a nursey on site too. The school has two playgrounds and a play area with various bits and bobs for children to play on. Not only was it rife with pretentious bullies who delighted in destroying fellow pupil's self-esteem, but the teachers would *join in*, yep, you read that right, the teachers would also delight in flinging personal insults and abuse, without naming names, this included a senior geography teacher, two female PE teachers and a home economics teacher. If your kids are introverted, or have some kind of 'issue' such as being slightly overweight, shy, wearing glasses, having a mild birth defect (Bell's Palsy) , or made the damn-awful mistake of being considered "less attractive' (in the shallow opinions of the stuck up little guttersnipes that populate this place) then go ahead and send them here, round out their education will full-on emotional abuse and ensure they need therapy for years to come! *Also, stealing is rife, because the popular kids have been dragged up like monkeys by their nannies. Don't bother bringing anything even semi-valuable or unusual to school as it *will* be stolen by entitled "popular" kids, because hey, they can get away with it. Some of the teachers lacked in discipline and even let pupils get away with cheating in exams! The I.T. department was dreadful, with us pupils knowing more than the teachers at times. The best departments were the art, history and textiles departments. The teachers always had innovative new ways to teach us and most lessons were a joy. The school dinners were not nice and I spent the last two years of my time there going home for dinner. The school did receive a very good OFSTED report whilst I was there and I hear that it is continuously improving under the supervision of the great head mistress!

The…read moreteacher in question has claimed that she has absolutely no knowledge of the issue at hand, despite being told by my sister herself, some doctors, and my mother (over phone, video chat AND in person). Three meetings with child services were attempted which the school representatives simply did not show up to. After this the teacher in question felt it necessary to contact my mother directly and demand that she be allowed INTO HER HOUSE to talk about the problem. I'm assuming that anyone reading this cares about the safety of their children, so it would be of use to know that the school does not!
