Being a bit of a magpie, I prefer sparkly, eye-catchers. For me, I prefer to buy my jewellery from boutiques like Swarovski but for every day wear, they have some nice pieces. The shop is really light, bright and airy and full of spotlights that makes everything look just that little bit more exciting! As well as catering for women, they also have a selection of mens watches, perfect for the man in your life! Their collections are diverse and range from the new Jazz collection to the funky, city chic Chicago collection.

If you've got a wad of cash to spend on jewellery I think you could find something nicer for your money...and if you're looking for fun kitsch charms, Claire's Accessories or even Accessorize would provide similar for a fraction of the price (though obviously not in sterling silver or featuring semi-precious stones!).

There is a range of jewellery items on offer - rings, earrings, necklaces and so on - all reasonable and ranging in price. From what I saw there appeared to be a decent mix of the more modern style pieces and some vintage styled (or at least appeared to be) pieces, which is great as it covers a range of tastes. Not being so fond of the modern kinds of jewellery it was nice to see some items that suited my tastes too. All items look beautifully made and of a good quality. This shop is great for browsing for ideas and will certainly offer up some lovely gift items for birthdays and ocassions etc. If you're near by I'd suggest a quick look in the window at least, even if you aren't shopping!

Plain to see, on the front of their shop, is that sign. Surely the treasury aren't that desperate to reclaim the gold reserves that they so hastily shifted a few years back? (Ha ha) In any case, Grandma's 9ct gold earring aren't going to fetch much for your efforts. Other than asking for gold, Graham Jewellers also sells watches, cufflinks, passion beads and a range of women's jewellery. Their window seemed to cater mostly for men, since there was a huge range of men's watches and cuff links and more, on sale when I walked by. At the time that I was looking there was a sale on most of the watches, a lot were at half price, which meant that there was certainly a few really good deals. As for the ladies' jewellery, I was a little less inspired. There was a lot of shiny sparkly diamonds, amber jewellery items and again a few good offers, but I guess no one item special enough that really made me want to go in and enquire. The large range of watches are again quite unassuming and traditional in style, with larger-faces and chunkier straps for men and daintier styles for women. The best place to browse their jewellery is at the window, as there isn't much more inside, only a small range, which personally I find less attractive than the bits and bobs in the window. Inside are the clocks and ornaments...the clocks again have a classic, timeless (haha!) look to them, not particularly stylish but not hideous either and I wasn't too keen on the ornaments...a bit Argos catalogue for my taste, but each to their own. This shop seems to appeal to someone who isn't looking for something particularly striking or unusual and may just want a watch or a clock that works or a simple piece of jewellery to accessorise an outfit...and for such wants it does the job fine...but for those looking for something with a unique look you might be disappointed.

I love my second hand pre-loved jewellery so for me this was a disappointment. If you're tempted to have a peek inside you'll find mostly clocks, watches and cuffinks on display. If you like a classic understated style you may find something you really like, but if you're expecting to enter and find an as yet undiscovered treasure trove to explore, you're likely to be disappointed.

It's mostly because I am always on the lookout for a new shiny bargain, but it's antique jewellery that is my mostest bestest favourite. As with most antique jewellers, their best offers on show are usually in the window. There are the odd few that have a few more treats inside, but I'm sad to say, I've never found extra treats inside R W Rundle. So, I stare at the window. There are plenty of antique items to catch your interest, earrings, necklaces, brooches and so on, but the items I have seen mostly are watches. They do have some very exciting pocket watches in the window. However, the thing that I have noticed about this shop is that not a lot changes. In the past few months there has been little change to the window display so I am beginning to develop an immunity to looking. Besides that, the prices for some of the items are a tad higher than other antique jewellers I have seen. All in all, what began as an exciting relationship, has now effervesced out into barely even saying 'hello'. I'd say we're still friends, I have nothing against the place, but unfortunately I have nothing much more to say.

They always have beautiful and inspiring second hand vintage jewellery on display in their window, often at discounted or competitive rates. Usually there are ring boards which cover all the precious stones - rubies, sapphires, opals, emeralds, diamonds, garnets, amethysts and so on. Those alone are enough to make me stare for ages! As well as this there are a number of chains, necklaces, pendents, cuff links, watches, ornaments and all other associated items - many more of which you can view inside, with lovely patient staff to help you. They have a glass cabinet full of vintage ornaments, many including their original boxes and mostly animals. One memorable piece was a Humpty-Dumpty sat precariously on a wall with a comically aghast expression! Some larger ornaments sit on shelves at the back including some quirky dogs with bizarre yet lovable faces. The shop is small but packed full of glistening goodies to suit a wide range of tastes. The staff are friendly and helpful but are more than happy to let you browse at your leisure. Their product range is diverse and in addition to the items listed earlier, they generally seem to specialize in anything that's unusual with a bit of history, including medals, trays and pocket watches. A wonderful place to find unique items if, like me, you go for things with character and delight in the fact that a piece has been pre-loved in a mysterious past life.

The kind of thing a real actual person might splash out on for a special gift for a loved one. In addition to jewellery there's some interesting accessories here too, including a collection of evening bags, clutches and handbags which adorn a full wall, and are likely to make girly girls get giddy over the prospect. There's also some charms, photo frames, scarves, gloves, cards and gift wrap, which are all beautiful in their own sweet way. As Rachael and Susan said, the staff is where Soignee comes in to it's own, super helpful and friendly without being ridiculously pushy and commission driven.
