Queensland Beach NS is one of the many beaches on NS South Shore. 40 minutes from Halifax to the east or 40 from Bridgewater to the south west. Queensand is frequented by teens and families and is guarded by a team of NSLS lifeguards, who are highly skilled and recognized worldwide. Life guard supervision is from 10am - 6pm daily, July 1 til Labor Day Weekend .The waters are very safe, with no strong currents, but do, on occasion, have huge dumping waves. It's a great beach for body surfing and boogie boards and is for the most part one of the warmest salt water beaches in NS.
Parking can be an issue, so arrive early. Be assured that RCMP are around periodically checking for parking issues and alcohol on the beach. Remember to check tide charts for St Margarets Bay as high tide in the middle of the day, leaves very little beach. The washroom facilities are outhouse stalls that are maintained by the province daily. There are no canteen facilities on site. Some would say that that's a drag, but on the other hand, families will pack a picnic lunch, leave less mess behind on the beach, and the kiddies aren't asking for $$'s for the canteen.
