Came to Queensyard because I was meeting up with some colleagues who worked in Hudson Yaards. Place is in the mall and looks out over the vessel and the river if you want a view. Decor was generic 'this is a nice restaurant'. Service was alright if a bit stiff; they also refused to put in appetizers/entrees separately which is straight up bizarre. Drinks were very pretty however results varied. Jordy was very good (fruity, foamy whiskey cocktail) whereas the Worth the Risk was not actually worth the risk (citrus whiskey cocktail). All were very Instagrammable though, with gold leaf or a portrait of Queen Elizabeth. We got a slew of appetizers, including spicy tuna crispy rice, Brooklyn Burrata and prosciutto, steak tartare, oysters, jumbo shrimp cocktail, tuna sashimi, and octopus. The oysters were fantastic as is, and the spicy tuna crispy rice was a good rendition of what is becoming my go to where ever I see it. Shrimp were gigantic however XO sauce with them was less than ideal. Steak tartare was very good if a bit heavy on mustard. Tuna sashimi was ok but overkill with the crispy rice version. Didn't try the octopus. Can't believe I'm saying this, but the burrata was the dumbest presentation I've ever seen; components were fine however the whole burrata ripped into pieces with massive slices of bread makes zero fucking sense. Hard to eat with 2 people, let alone 10. For my main I go the branzino. Branzino was well prepared by grilled, and the salad on top complemented it well. Problem was there was no side otherwise, so it was kind of an incomplete entree. The salsa with it didn't taste like much either. Other folks seemed to enjoy their entree. Most of their desserts are deconstructed which is annoying, as this is an easy way for chefs to be lazy. I got the deconstructed carrot cake; components were good, but again, why not just make a damned carrot cake? Deconstructed toffee cake was similarly good. Ended the night with some port, very good double espresso, and headed out. Not world beating however pretty good food overall. Would not hesitate to come here again if in the mall and wanting some place fancy. Really though, if I'm going someplace fancy then I'm getting as far from Hudson Yards as possible. And also why am I in a mall in Hudson Yards? If you're a tourist or you work here I get it. Otherwise I kind of don't. read more

Queensyard exceeded my expectations. For a bustling restaurant in Hudson Yards, the ambiance, service, and food quality was impeccable. Our experience started at the door with the very personable host (with the hat and great mustache). We were escorted to our table along the windows facing the Honeycomb and immediately served our choice of water. We had a variety of options for our group which consisted of: vegan, protein focused, and me - with the appetite of a toddler lol. All of us were able to order mocktails, wine, and items of our liking. Our server made honest suggestions, which was appreciated. All of agreed our food was well presented without sacrificing the quality. We all agreed this is a great spot for a variety of instances, (ie date night, a great start to a girls night, or sitting solo at the bar). It's just a welcoming atmosphere. Decent salads, fries, and burgers here. They used to have a good fish and chips but it's off the menu now - wish they would bring it back. Not a huge fan of the shrimp cocktail, which sometimes come uncleaned and not fully deveined (but they are quite jumbo). The burrata appetizer was pretty decent. Wine selection is also pretty good. Had a sit down lunch today at Queensyard and tried something new. I had the Caesar salad with chicken. It was good but I was thrown off by the bits of fish garnish it had. I do understand that the dressing has anchovies, but I am not a big fish eater so if you order this salad ask them to Not garnish with actual bits of dried anchovies. We also ordered that Mac and cheese which is always a favorite. Another friend ordered ten bolognese and gave it the thumbs up. But we were too early, it doesn't open till 5pm I think it must be Very touristy, I noticed people next to us wearing Chanel Fendi Dior( crazy rich Asians) so the espresso martinis $21 reflects the classy ambiance. They had the gold standard Martini w valhorna chocolate powder so good.chocolate n espresso! Perfect combo. As we were leaving I took a peek at the Rose room, tons of fake roses beautiful chandeliers, smaller than expected. Been there done that no need to go for the uncharged martinis. Rainy Saturday night, Party of 6. There are no 6 top tables close to the window. Those are only for 2 & 4 tops. No worries- even with the rain we had a decent view of The Vessel. Queensyard decor is beautiful- great photo ops for sure. The service was spotty however. Some items took forever to come out but we had few complaints about the food. The flavors were spot on although the plates were smaller portions than we are used to. The cocktails however were very inconsistent. Some of us ordered the same cocktail and each glass tasted different. Because of that experience we all went to our regular 'go-gos' for the second round of drinks rather than their specialty cocktails. This was a fail too. How could 3 Hendricks & tonics all taste so different? We were celebrating a birthday and even mentioned it on the reservation- there was no acknowledgment of that. Our server and the service were exceptional all night. We were undecided on which wine to split, so she brought us samples to try until we found the right one. The cabernet we chose was smooth and light. We even had our silverware changed to match our meals. I ordered the bbq ribs because the server said it had more to it than the lamb chops I originally wanted. I was pleased with the amount and the flavor of the ribs. The sauce wasn't your typical bbq flavor, which made it unique. Each rib was tender, and the crispy onions were equally delicious. The truffle fried were crispy and the aioli sauce paired well. Met up w/ friends who work in the building her for HH. The 1st thing you notice is that this place is gorgeous! The colors and decor are lush. The view of the vessel is lovely. We sat at the tables that were closest to the bar w/ the teal couches. LOVE IT! I can only tell you that the French fries were fresh and tasty. We stayed with the cocktail menu. I had a gin cocktail called the purple lady...sadly it wasn't on the HH menu, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. This was recommend during our visit to the Hudson Yards on a rainy day. It was a very nice atmosphere! There was a lot of picture opportunities leading to the restaurant and within the restaurant there were two beautiful murals. The staff were all kind and very knowledgeable about the menu and everything they could offer guests. All of our meals were fantastic. Everything arrived perfect and it tasted just as good. The pancakes were just the right thickness and the dulce cream was on the bottom. The truffle fries were also a hit with the right flavors and crispy lines. The bartender did disappear for a while, which made it take longer to get the check. One thing I didn't really like was that they didn't have food available until 5. I have been to Hudson yards before but never dined here. It was recommended to us as a place for an intimate celebration. Before you enter there are a few places to take pictures before you enter. Some pretty rose walls and archway. The restaurant has an intimate look and feel. Though the group next to us was a bit rowdy, which is not the restaurant's fault. The service started slow but improved as the night went one. For started you pay for the bread and butter. There are no freebies here. With that said we had oysters and the burrata for appetizers. The burrata was perfect, not too mushy or watery. We both ordered the lobster pasta. It had a good amount of seafood in it. The drinks were well made and tasty. As for price I think it is a decent price when you think of the average prices in NYC. We looked into the Rose room before we left. It is very small. It is curtained in and near the restrooms. It does have a lot of floral decoration but it was packed and you couldn't get a good picture in the dark either. read more

You're paying premium price to be here--why not make the most out of this Insta worthy opportunity? Our waitress was not in a mood. Very brusque. She was annoyed with everyone and everything, so I was glad that we did not have to interact with her for much. Busboys were incredibly helpful and efficient. The manager helped us to move to a better seat, when our waitress was not in the mood/did not have the energy to do so. Huge thanks to the manager and busboys for making our experience worth it. The food was a delicious surprise. Yes, the prices are steep. You are paying for the location and the atmosphere. But I have to admit--everything we ate made us happy, and I would return to try more items on the menu. $29 grilled octopus was stunning. The truffled scallion kimchi, nduja, and seared cippolini onion created a perfect medley of flavors that highlighted the delicate, supple octopus. Definitely worth a try. When I saw the price for 28 OZ. PORTERHOUSE for two, I nearly skipped a beat. For $145, I did not feel like the 28oz portion was enough for two, but maybe that was because we both enjoy meat, and my companion inhaled the steak faster than I could cut it. The meat was well prepared. Was it worth $145? Eeeeh, questionable. Go to any nice steakhouse and you will get similar satisfaction level from this dish. The unexpected star of the show turned out to be the  truffle scalloped potatoes, with which the steak was served [plus a baby lettuce salad]. I am not a fan of potatoes, but that was some elevated treat, thanks to the truffle oil and ample cheddar & raclette. One of the best sides that you can possibly dream of. I'd enjoy it just by itself and be happy [again, I do not consume potatoes in my daily life, so I am not addicted to starchy carbs, unlike most of society today]. $20 Sticky Toffee Pudding with chocolate crunch and orange ice cream is a great option to split. Good portion size. A stunning dessert that we relished till the very last crump. Not too sweet, which is often a challenge for sticky toffee puddings. All the flavors were very well balanced. The draw to this restaurant is the decor and the view. Facing the Hudson River, it's a very pretty restaurant. Went there for a work event - and I have to admit the service is slow.....very slow. So much so we had to ask for the waiter to start taking orders, we had to ask for the waiter to bring dessert and we had to ask for the check - very slow service. The food was ok - but each of my courses didn't taste like I expected. I started with the shrimp cocktail and the sauce had an aftertaste to it. For my main I had the squid ink pasta with lobster and mussels - again I've had this dish before but this one had a funny taste to it. It didn't taste bad - it just tasted different. For dessert I ordered ice cream - I believe they got mine mixed up and gave me gelato because it definitely didn't taste like ice cream.
