Great location: by itself, along the water with great views. It has a patio area, but we sat inside. I hate to tell staff that we are in a hurry, but we were, and they were fantastic about accommodating us. Our server moved SO FAST! Even though, place was busy, (lots of other people were inside, avoiding the rain), he was still attentive and made sure we got everything quickly. Drinks: Messina beer (local brew): ok, but I'm not a beer drinker. Similar to Peroni in taste House red wine: Very Good. Of course, the house wine was that good. Food: Fresh bread Prosciutto con melone: Excellent. When your cantaloupe is this sweet & ripe and prosciutto this salty & savory, there are no words. Sicilian Pizza: topped w/herbs, onions, olives (with the pits, beware) tomato sauce & strong cheese. Excellent. Wish I had more room in my stomach to eat more of this. Focaccia: seasoned w/olive oil, anchovies & fresh olives. My choice & Excellent. Exactly what I was craving. Primavera Pizza: Very good, but my daughter's choice (meaning, meats & cheese). Spaghetti Bolognese: my son's choice. He loved it and angrily peered at my daughter and husband, who kept stealing bites. Although we had to jog to our next location, we had fantastic service & food to make it all possible. Great pit stop!

We miss it! This is…read moreeasily one of the best places we've been on this summers Road Trip in Italy. We stumled upon it more by accident. We planned to meet our Airb'n'B hosts here. We stayed in nearby Nicotera and didn't even know that there's a beautiful beach nearby. We ended up coming here every day - four in a row. Here's some reasons: Beach is nice, clean and quiet (even in high season). Seems still to be a secret or people might not travel that far south. Then there's the hosts of this Beach Bar. Friendly, helpful and going further than the extra mile for their customers (more of that later). Beach chairs and umbrellas cost as little as 8 Euros (two chairs, one umbrella)...for the whole day! And our dog was even allowed on the beach. And ultimately...the food. We really didn't excpect anything from it. And turned out to be wonderful fresh, daily changing fish and seafood. Perfectly cooked by the host/owner. Some of the best meals on this trip. And we've had many. At first sight the menu seems short and not very special (Spaghetti Ragu and Carbonara for example). It's because the best meals only come by request. Just ask what they got today! Can be cozze (mussels), Calamari, fish cakes, vongole etc. And it's all NOT on the menu. Luckily we've seen other locals eating it. Portions are big and quality is high. The anchovie fish cakes were delightful, fresh and savory. Vongole and Cozze fresh as well....huge plates of fantastic seafood. Few ingredients, but perfectly cooked. Calamari were fresh as well, crispy and tender! Every day we also got served some antipasti...and every day the portions got bigger and the bill got smaller! Salumi (different meat cuts) were a great choice as well. Dried and in oil preserved tomatoes, eggplants and other veggies. A realy feast. Fried potatoes with Calabrian Chillis....awesome! Drink some "Dreher" beer with it.....perfect match. Together with the chairs and umbrellas we never paid more than 40 Euros. For everything....rent, food and 6x beers! And like I said, every day we got more food for less money. They didn't have to do that...they knew we're not locals, just some tourists that might not come back for quite a while. But they did. And had some good chats with us. We really felt so welcome, almost felt like being at home with family. Great people, great food....a great experience. One of the places this year that really touched us and we miss a lot. Highly recommended!

Although they are missing out on the broader selection of English on tap beers and ales they make up for it with the accouterments of decoration the music blasting through the restaurant/bar area the decorations and styling is of a true English pub even down to the inlaid ceilings. The small menu and the tough service does remind me of being back in Wales or some small pub outside of Manchester but I will be honest to tell you the goulash was better than any goulash I've had in all my trips through the British Isles. You find yourself pressed to order at the bar and when your food is ready they ring a bell so you're not sure if it's for your food or someone else's so its a little bit of fun of lottery to the experience. If you're really into peanuts they have small tins that you can pick up near the front and you de-shell your own peanuts at your table while you chat overfriendly beer and a hot bowl of meat soup. And of course no authentic replica of a British pub would be complete without darts which are located in the back and plenty of big screen Tv's showing English football live in action. This may be the only location in the small Italian village that's open until 2:00 in the morning and still serving food so if your hungry and out with their friends late at night this would be the place to hit up.
