The four walk-ins were taken ahead of this poor man with an appointment who now was late for work. Being the only one left in the waiting room a woman walked in. Low and behold she was taken ahead of me with no explanation. When I spoke up I was told she registered and sat in her car until they texted her. Well this is fine but after fasting since 10 the night before and thinking I was next with 2 people waiting in the back for the one employee there to do their lab now I had another person ahead of me which means now I am looking at another 15-20 minute wait. First of all I think I should have been advised that there was a person now ahead of me and WHY TAKE APPOINTMENTS IF IN THE END THEY DON'T MEAN A THING!!!!! After speaking up I didn't want the girl who was not a pleasant person to begin with now taking my blood so I walked out. Also, if they know their busy time would be first thing in the morning why do you only have one person staffing the office. I guess that is their way of saving money. Forget the consumer!!!! The issue is most physicians do not do lab work in the offices anymore and now you don't have too many choices as to where to get your blood work done. Your damned if you do and damned if you don't. I am going to try another Labcorp and hopefully I won't have to go through this again.

This laboratory is an adjunct to the PennMed Medical offices at the same address. My primary care…read morephysician is on the second floor of this facility. As part of my annual physical, blood and urine samples were required in advance of that appointment. What an amazing convenience to be able to have this preliminary work done in the same location, and be confident the results will be in my file, and in my email inbox before meeting with the doctor. Compared to Lab Corp and Quest, PennMed's Outpatient Laboratory maintains all records in house and their appointments are on time. Their phlebotomists are as skilled as the other places, but they also have other staff present for check-ins and question answering, while those other places are always one person operations with a way too busy nurse running around doing everything by herself. This office feels more comfortable, and at the same time, more professional. So nice for something medical to become more simplified and convenient, rather than the contrary in this modern age of medical anxiety and confusion. This office is definitely a major improvement.

I showed up on time with my lab order and the woman working refused to draw my blood, made me act as her assistant to wait on hold and have the office fax over identical information to the order in my hand with zero explanation. I ultimately wasn't even able to get my blood drawn as this employee took every person in front of me as I waited over an hour, surpassing the window required to get the blood drawn (which she was aware of). I spoke to my Dr.'s office who corroborated there were no issues with the lab orders and were equally as confused as to why the lab wasn't calling and instead had me do it. I was even told to go wait on speaker and discuss my medical information publicly because she was so inept, incapable and rude. You can tell phlebotomist's don't need anything other than a high school diploma in moments like these. Unprofessional, waste of time and medically problematic would sum it up. I was there for an urgent medical reason not to buy a lollipop.

So at first I would come early right when they open at 7am and most days they can be a dozen people also there or rarely just me . It is usually busy from opening at 7am until they close at 2:30 pm so I learned it's best to go online and make an appointment , I have appointments now and even if a dozen people seemingly in front of me when it's my time I usually get called in right on time and I get my blood work and go straight home . Make the appointment especially if you want an early morning appointment . Three people that work at this one of many local locations are all really good at drawing blood . Painless good at what they do! They do make check in easy just make sure you bring your Medical insurance card and Pa. Drivers license you must use them to check in at automated kiosk machine .

This location is in a half-dead shopping center, so parking is easy and it's right off route 13. Not far from 276 either. Today there was a slight issue with my doctors lab order. Rather than throw their hands in the air and tell me to take a hike, the employees here did an awesome job figuring out a solution. They saved me from having to go to another lab and ensured I'll always go over to Labcorp in Bristol for bloodwork, bridge tolls be damned.

They over charged me the 2nd time and when I try to contact their business office to ask about it, I always get directed to the voice mail. No matter what time of day I call, their "representative are busy helping other patients". Finally I called their office number (which really doesn't get you to the office but a call center with operators that make appointments for you). The rep tried to contact the billing office with me on hold, but even she couldn't get through. In my mind, this is terrible customer service.
