We booked an executive king suite and also paid an extra $A 109 for an early check-in as our flight from the U.S. arrived at 6:30 am. We were able to get a room around d 9 am which gave us a chance to freshen up before heading into the city after our 24-hour journey. Our room at the end of the hall on the 6th floor (654) had a curved wall of windows overlooking T2 of the airport and couldn't have been any more convenient. The main uber stand was just across the street as was the airport sky bus into town. Our king bed was firm and comfortable and the room was very quiet with a lot of blackout shades. The single sink bathroom had a tub and much too small shower with no shortage of water flow. It was perfect for our brief visit and we booked breakfast with our rate and the generous buffet ($A50 if bought ala carte) had a wide variety of hot food, juices, breads and cooked to order eggs. I am so thankful we found the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport, and their wonderful team. We can't thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism. From the moment she was in their care she was safe, secure, comfortable and happy. Above and beyond doesn't even begin to describe the service they provided. They handled her bags, escorted her to her room, made sure she was comfortable, and arranged room service. Mum said the food was outstanding! She could not say enough good things about her experience, and the wonderful staff. And they helped her to her flight the next day! We can't thank the staff enough. There rooms have air conditioning, Television/DVD player, tea and coffee making facitilies and a bar fridge. there is no microwave in the room. There is not too much that surrounds Ciloms. There is a shopping centre a couple of kilometres down the road and last time i stayed there they offered us a drop off pick up service to the shops which was extremly handly as the last time i went it cost me $25 return in taxi fares. the shopping centre has a woolworthes and other specialty stores. The Hotel offers room service and have menus in each room. There is a restuarant/bar on site as well so you can sit in there and eat dinner. I haven't found too many businesses that deliver food around that area but Melrose Pizza has always delivered to Ciloms for me. The food on the menu isn't all that great. they have a pool, sauna and gym on the property for guests as well. Most rooms come with a balcony as well.

Needing a nice place to go big enough for our extended family to celebrate our daughter's fifth birthday, we decided on The Roxy. Booking at this place is serious business and you're required to pay a deposit of $15 per person which was a surprise to me, but I'm all for organisation so that was fair enough. I did get a bit frustrated though when I realised I'd missed a message from the booking coordinator, the week of my daughter's birthday to confirm if we were still going. I even had a timeline to get back to them, and frantically called them back a day after the deadline when I finally listened to the message. Considering I'd paid over $200 as a deposit, we were definitely going to be there! The staff are fantastic though and the place runs like clockwork. Pity my family and I don't. We were booked in for 7:00pm and bookings went for 1.5 hours so we had to vacate by 8:30. Unfortunately because there were so many of us and because we paid separately by the time we were seated it was closer to 7:30 so time was limited. The bistro offers a buffet style, International all you can eat feast. Being sceptical of large buffet's and how fresh the food is, I was truly impressed by the taste, variety, flavour and quality of the food. Not one of our 20 guests complained and we all went up at least three times. From pizza and pasta, Chinese, seafood, roasts, salads, Mediterranean dishes and then on to desserts, tea and coffee - The Roxy is the perfect place to please everybody's tastebuds! I was delighted to see how often the food was turned over and fresh food brought out; and each station was manned by it's own Chef and servers making the occasion even better. I must say we were all disappointed by the lack of time we had because the food was that darn good, we didn't want to stop! The only downside to the evening was when the Waitress brought out my daughters 'surprise' birthday cake right out in front of her before we were ready; which was a shame considering the same girl had done a terrific job hiding it all night. A magnificent place to eat, drink and enjoy the company of good friends and family. The bathroom is a bit small and awkward (mirrors are outside of the bathroom/shower unit, and the sink is on the other side of the room), would have been nice to have a power outlet beside the bed as I use my phone for an alarm clock. Just a word of caution there is no elevator if you have large bags, but I think if you have to make an early flight this is probably the best option when on a budget.
