I was looking pretty shabby after delaying getting a new haircut by several weeks, so Esmerelda helped me out while I was on vacation the other day. I've been getting my haircut here for almost a year and I don't plan switching up any time soon.

I have never left a bad review on Yelp. This review is not because of a bad cut, it is because of the way I was treated when I thought $75 charge was excessive. The cut was good, shorter than what I wanted, but I can live with that. Problem was when I asked for her to style it, as I didn't want to walk out with wet hair. I guess I should have asked for her to just blow it dry which I'm still not sure if that was included in the $16 wash & the $16 cut. No way did I expect a $40 charge for what she did. She spent a long time blowing it dry into a Princess Leia type shape, that I would have never asked for, especially if I knew there would be a $40 charge. I called back & talked to Hector? and he said they charge $5 for a wash. All I asked for was the return of $20 as I would expect for a $40 style I should have been "wowed". Lesson to be learned for me~always ask what they are charging & what is included. Lesson for the beautician~be clear on what is included, and ask for customer for input for the style. For $40, I want it my style, not your style. read more

The barber named Francisco, he does really nice cuts! He will cut it how you want it! From a low fade, taper, and even shaved! Never disappoints! Tried this place for the first time today. Came in looking a little rugged, left looking like Mount Elbert. Somehow I'm leaving even more uneven. These $4 barbers really don't give a damn about you. This is probably the least personable staff of any business in DHS. They were rough when combing and cutting my own hair but the final straw for me was when they left welts on my son's head and neck. I came in to get a trim as in half a inch cut off my hair. The reason I told them half an inch is because I was unfamiliar with this place and am very picky about my hair. So to be on the safe side, I told them half an inch just to start. As the bright red-head girl is cutting it, I notice inch size pieces being cut off my hair and ask her again to confirm that she is indeed cutting a half inch off and she says yes. I was still skeptical but she seemed to understand that I wanted it layered and since I had also told her that I had cut some of the layers myself before coming in as an indication to not cut more and that I didn't need any off the length either. She didn't listen to anything I said and ended up cutting all my hair off. When she asked me to look at it, it seemed she had done the bangs and the back (poorly) but she didn't do anything with the sides at all so I asked if she could angle the sides since it looked like she hadn't cut it at all. She asked if it was okay if she could cut more and I said yes considering she hadn't cut any of the side at all. I didn't think it looked as bad as it did when I was in there because often times they ask me how I like it and I just tell them it's fine because I never really know until I go home and style it myself on whether I think they did a good job or not. I knew she had definitely ruined it to some degree and taken more off than she should have but after paying 40 dollars (which should have been 20-30) because she didn't ask me if I wanted my hair blown dry or not, I got to my car and realized she had cut about 3 or more inches off. I've had quite a few really bad hair cuts in the past especially not having the lady who was doing it for five years, but at this point I honestly don't even feel comfortable going out in public and I'm going to have to wait at least 3 or 4 months just for it to look decent. I did call and they said they would see what they could do, but I won't be taking this down unless I get a full refund. If you don't know how to listen, you shouldn't be employed in a customer service job. Update: I called again and was at first told I was going to speak to the manager but I don't think he was interested because I ended up continuing to talk to one of the employees and he was very nice about it but basically said that because it wasn't an "uneven" haircut, I wouldn't be able to get a refund and made an excuse for her stupidity saying she got "scissor happy." I don't care if it was uneven or not, you don't turn the chair so your clients can't see what you're doing and cut all their hair off when they politely asked you for a half inch multiple times. I was just given the worst haircut I've ever had because an employee either doesn't know the difference between a half inch and three inches or clearly doesn't care about what customers ask for. He told me it was her fault, not the businesses as if that's how businesses work. polWhen an employee screws up an order, it's the businesses responsibility to correct it. I would have been okay with a 10 or 20 dollar refund but was made to pay 40 dollars for no hair because their employee doesn't know how to listen. read more

I took my boys here to get their hair cut on Saturday, August 24th. This was not our first visit I think we were pushing haircut number 4 and had been satisfied until this point. So I tell the barber, the last one on the left side, to give my baby boy (4yrs old) a zero, I like his hair cut low. Well, my baby was unhappy with his cut, when a 4 year old says "I don't like my hair cut" you know there is a problem. When I saw his hair I flipped out, how do you not know how to cut hair. This child was not moving or being antsy yet, he has patches of hair all over his head. Then chick had the nerve to get an attitude and start talking crazy to the next customer. Talking about she asked for zero. I don't care if I said 0, 1, 2 or 3 the cut should be EVEN all over. I tried not to go there with her, trying to set an example for my children but, I admit, I failed that test. I did use some foul language and I didn't pay for that cut and will NEVER pay for another cut at this establishment. I will go somewhere else, maybe a place that understands low fade or just take off a little or cut it low. Not what number you want. Seriously, learn real barber speak. Also my oldest boy didn't get the cut I asked for either and both the barbers cut up my boys' necks. This posed a question, how often do barbers nick customers and not clean their clippers? Neither one of them cleaned their clippers before or after servicing my boys and you cut them both. I had to really clean their necks, hopefully they don't get an infection. read more

A friend of mine (who ALWAYS has FAB hair) gave me Teresa's number.....Okay so I make my appointment for the usual cut and color...when i arrive i was welcomed and offered water...i waited about 10 min before i was in her chair...i told her what i always did with my hair,she agreed but also suggested some balyage hilites...also she gave me a cut that gives me so much more volume. This is the WORST PLACE EVER!!! I have no idea where these stylist went to school but I should find out, go back & ask them how the hell did they let these people get their license! They ruined not only my hair but my sisters, my daughters, my cousins & their mothers hair! We needed our hair done for my brothers wedding & it was so dissapointing to have payed 55 dollar for something that lasted 10 mimutes. They didnt know how to do anything. They asked us to get a couple of books & choose our hairstyle & when we did they said they didnt know how to do it. So why the hell are they asking in the first place? Where shall I begin. It is very hard finding a barber or stylist who can cut bi-racial hair or multi-racial hair ethnic Spanish hair. I assumed that the bi-racial child who was standing in front of his mother's car with the hair cut I wanted for my child got his hair cut here. First, when someone says I do not know how to cut this type of hair and my son's hair grows out straight like a Mexican, that should not have been an issue. If you cut hair, you cut hair. So the other stylist did his hair who did a botched job. She lined him up to the point of receding. A line up is shaping the hair up around his face. This went past his hair line like some black men who have a receding hair line. She then tried to swoop it to the side. I asked her to keep his curls. She cut it down with a 4 blade but instead of going straight back, she cut is hair off in the pattern of a maze. I am thinking no problem he has "good hair or what is deemed as good hair". Now he has not a curl and his hair is straight and thick like a Mexican. His signature was his curls, and then she had the audacity to put gel in his hair and tell him this is good gel. I showed the woman the pictures, and the lady I wanted to cut his hair was the one who said she couldn't cut his type of hair. Can anyone in this desert cut hair? The only thing good about this experience is I know the type of hair cut he wants. Just disappointed. I love the sign they have posted, no refunds on service. I paid another method and even tipped.
