    Cocoa Brew
    Chrishawn B.

We had been out exploring near the dam and was hungry. Found this place. Walked in and wasn't sure where to go. You walk into what appears to be a store. Then you see a coffee shop. There was a woman at the counter. She was preparing coffees. I stood there for a few minutes but she never acknowledged me. I watched her take coffees to customers. I saw her go to the back and come back with a pizza box and gave to a customer. Still didn't acknowledge me. I finally interrupted her at the counter and asked where we order food and she said here. Handed me a menu. We both ordered the pastrami sandwiches and Cole slaw. I ordered a large Iced Mocha latte. My husband got the Cocoa Brew. There were quite a few people in there. But still plenty of places to sit. Wasn't too loud or anything either. My husband loved his Cocoa Brew, which has alcohol in it and it did taste pretty good. My Iced Mocha was not the best. Didn't taste any espresso in it. Tasted like a mocha flavored tea or something but it was weak hint of the coffee or espresso. Mocha tasted like a fake chocolate flavor. Made me wonder if it was coffee or espresso in it. Not something I'd order again. Sandwich was not that great either. Meat was very dry like bacon. Had good flavor but dry. Coleslaw seemed old as it was slimy. Not a great value for what we got in my opinion. Two sandwich meals and two drinks over $60! Outside of building was cute and nicely decorated. Not somewhere I'd go again.

Food. Service. Ambiance. We were traveling through and found this We had NC blackened trout tacos and a fantastic burger w/ spicy sweet potato fries and side salad with apple cider vinaigrette and IPA tropical "Soulnation" all the way around Then we played in the game room for a couple hours. We had so much fun

We came in after a 9 hour drive for a quick bite to eat. We were very impressed with the hospitality and delicious food. The bartender recommended the wings with the dry rub and the barbecue sauce over them. I personally have never tried wings like that and I was blown away! So D E L I C I O U S. The drinks were very cold. Large variety of drinks. The bartender gave me a F R E E birthday shot which was very kind. He was very kind throughout our service. He was always chatting with us and talking about all the cool local things to do. Nice spot, great people, the ambiance was very relaxed, everyone was so friendly- we talked to a lot of locals. Always sit at the bar, you always make great friends!

I think part of the problem was they were EXTREMELY busy. So service wasn't the best but my server was trying really hard. I ordered the pork nachos and they were incredibly blah. The interesting thing was they were covered in lettuce with pretty minimal nacho cheese. I felt like I ordered a weird salad. See pic below. I'd come here only for the convenience.

Sweet little spot! Happy to find a new restaurant in this area since options are minimal. Great staff, descent food. Philly was pretty good. Fries have a good seasoning.

I ordered a patty melt minus bacon. It came with bacon. They took it back once I pointed out the bacon and they returned a minute later with the same exact food minus the bacon. Not recommending a business that cuts corners.

This was a very nice pleasant experience. While staying at Fontana Village, we waited for all the weekend guests to leave, we ventured over to this restaurant on a Sunday evening and had a great experience. We brought our medium sized dog with us, sat out on the porch/outdoor area and were treated to water bowl for our dog. We had called ahead to make sure the dog could be there with us and that a water bowl would be provided. We all purchased a beer, on draft, they brought out two beers and said the draft was out on the third beer and offered a bottle instead. I'm not sure if it was reflected on the bill? My Mom paid for us this time, but it should have been if it wasn't. We started out with fried pickles and fried green tomatoes. Both were very good. The pickles came in spears and were very tasty. The green tomatoes were good as well. My husband and I both ordered a hamburger and my Mom ordered chicken tenders. I added a salad thinking it would come out early but all of it was delivered at the same time. I just took back the salad to the cabin bc I didn't get a chance to have it at the restaurant. I ordered a regular burger and my husband ordered the burger with the pork and said it was delicious. Mine was good as well. My Mom had no complaints on her tenders and we were all satisfied. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely go back again before we check out of our cabin. Taking the salad back with us worked out great as we made Tuna sandwiches the next day and we've been able to use it for that as well. I would recommend going for dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Just lettuce. And iceberg at that. Gross. I paid $10 for this? Luckily I was able to change my order.

Staff was great, but it's changed to something else now, menu is much smaller, and a bit pricey, but what do you do!

Limited options for food up here. Had lunch and the trout tacos were decent. Trout was the best part of the meal.

According to me, someone who recently spent a weekend there, can confirm that Robbinsville is indeed a town that looks to be populated with less than 600 people. That being said, food options were not expected to be diverse and plentiful. However across the street from my hotel was a quaint home that was actually a restaurant. Willow Tree: a catering business that serves people for dinner on the weekend. Tired and hungry, I sauntered in and sunk into a very cushy chair in the entrance/waiting room as I waited for a take-out order. I ordered a ribeye and not only did the order came out quick, but the waitress offered me an actual steak knife to take back to the hotel for the meal! "You can return it tomorrow, we have plenty of them!" she cheerfully said. Nothing like Southern, small-town, hospitality. The meal was great. The ribeye was cooked to order and well seasoned, the Mac and Cheese really hit the spot, and the Pecan Pie was a perfect end to an all-around great hotel meal. If you ever find yourself in Robbinsville, you need to check this place out and who knows- it may make you want to become resident 598.

The first time we went to Willow Tree we had the best young server and a great experience with their tasting menu. The tasting menu is gone, but the portions and options are still the same. There is a lack of good places to eat in Robbinsville so it is great to see the Willow Tree finding a new home a up and coming lodge. The trout dip and the fillet were our favorites items. If you get the ribeye, ask for the steak sauce on the side. There is just a lot of it, but it is good. I wish they were making their own Caesar dressing. The one they are using is fine but tasted jarred. Also ask for extra dressing. The grill on the Romain is great, but they aren't putting the dressing between the leaves. I do wish when they were building the lodge they but huge windows that took advantage of the view of the lake. This didn't change the food .

SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!
