Beautiful spot to enjoy a meal. The service was great, and we had live music during brunch. The pot stickers were not my favorite, but my wife loved her risotto. The drinks were also very nice. We had coffee an a fruity lemonade.

If you're looking for a higher end dining experience with entertainment and ambience in San Miguel, this is it. I dined here in the evening with dim tabletop lighting, a dj, someone played a violin and even a tightrope walker, not your typical dinner. Our group was large as we were in town for a wedding so we were sat at two tables next to each other. While the brides table had excellent service, our table not so much. It seemed like there was a mix up about who was actually supposed to be taking care of us. Some dishes were tastier than others and my drink was nice, however I've had much better fish dishes elsewhere. The wine service was very nice and the ambience was very beautiful. There are both English and Spanish language menus as well. Overall it's a beautiful place.

What an impressive restaurant. Service is spectacular, not just great, but a step above! The entertainment was more impressive than anticipated. But the best part was the food! I ordered the filet salad. The meat was tender and the serving was about 6 ozs, more than ample for a salad. The ambiance is upscale. I recommend Quince completely, FIVE STAR!

We went here with a group of approx 20 people. Our reservations were for the following night, but today's other restaurant wasn't prepared for us, so we ended up here. The management was able to give us two large tables in front of the wonderful show. I had the shrimp, perfectly prepared. Their wine list is extensive, and reasonably priced. EVERYTHING was just the best!

Went to this restaurant based on recommendations but was not impressed with the service or food. The host was nice but waited 45 min for a table for two and when we were seated we found the rooftop restaurant half empty. There was not a dedicated server and the service was slow for our drink orders and food orders. Since we had arrived at 2pm and ordered after 3pm there was a special discount on sushi and margaritas. When the bill arrived the discount was not applied so we had to request that. We also were told by multiple other people in town that they had similar experiences at Quince so just be aware. The view from the rooftop at Quince was beautiful but would recommend going to the rooftop restaurant right next door called "the rooftop at Selina" which had impeccable service, food and the rooftop view.

Superb rooftop restaurant with an amazing views and food. The grilled octopus is a must! The rolls are very good too, as was the sea bass, and everything with steak in it. And if it's someone's first day, they give a free ice cream dessert topped with fruit and a sparkler on top. It is best to set reservations, especially if it's a large group.

My favorite city on EARTH! God bless San Miguel. This is a super romantic spot to take in the views of the city. You can see the church, town square, and look down on the beautiful cobblestone streets. My group came here to celebrate a birthday and they brought out sparklers and the whole she-bang. It was a COLD March night. Como que.... hace fríoooooooo. The wait staff was very accommodating, turned on all the heaters they could, and brought us blankets. Food was amazing. These lamb dumplings were so different from anything I'd ever had before. Drinks are good, music is fun, people watching is perfecto. There's a ton of good dining options in San Miguel, but if you're really looking to impress somebody, this is a show-stopping option.

Food was really good, probably the best we found in San Miguel. Our server Antonio was super nice. The view was amazing and the entertainment was super cool!

It may be the most beautiful rooftop dining spot ever. The views are incredible. And, the atmosphere is fun, with a live DJ, violinist, and a tightrope walker! Our server was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. And they love celebrations as you will see from my photos. We started with special drinks, a dragon fruit mezcal concoction, a gin basil and lime, and a Black Forest mezcal drink. Very delicious and nicely presented. For starters we had the Rock Shrimp Tempura, Lamb Dumplings and thinly sliced tuna sashimi with jalapeño and avocado. It was all very delicious. For dinner we had Aji pepper risotto with sliced beef filet, fusilli with lam ragout and braised short ribs over humus. Everyone loved their meal. We ended with a slice of corn bread cake with berries, and their traditional birthday desert (forgot the name). This comes with a cool sparkler. I highly recommend this restaurant for celebrations, date night, or any fun occasion. We loved it. Also the staff is bilingual. So there were no issues with communication.

Heads up: Quince allows smoking during rooftop dining--despite Mexico's federal law banning it anywhere food or drinks are served, even outdoors. We had a couple less than an arm's length away smoking cigarettes while we ate. The smoke blew directly at us, and staff confirmed it was allowed. No mention on the website, no signage, and no heads-up at check-in or when we made the reservation. We had to move tables, and even then the wind carried the smoke back during his second cigarette. It really soured the evening. That's unfortunate, because the vibe and ambiance at Quince are great. The lamb barbacoa dumplings were amazing. The Frida roll--a refreshing aguachile-style sushi--was another favorite. The braised lamb had great flavor, though it came out room temp (not warm...). We ordered the molten chocolate cake, which takes 25 minutes, but were later told it was burned. They did the right thing and comped it, but after the smoke issue and no dessert, it left us disappointed overall.

Me n my wife had dinner their last night for our wedding anniversary. The table reserved for us had the spectacular nighttime view of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel. Our server, Leonardo was exceptional. He recommended a locally produced wine that was delicious. He was also accommodating in a slight variance we requested on a plate. The restaurant topped off the celebration w a complimentary dessert. Our experience was nothing less than excellent. We look forward to dining at Quince again someday!

They even have freaking wire / cable walkers and a lady playing a violin with a light saber as extra entertainment!

We ran the gamut of bars in Zona Centro, and this spot made a fitting finale since it was the most high-end spot we visited. Only a half-block from the social epicenter of Jardin Allende, it provides a nice view of the top of the parroquia from their rooftop terrace where we were seated (Photo 3). The restaurant definitely had a more refined ambiance than the previous four places. We could tell it was a popular spot among wealthy American expats because the ambient voices sounded more like Chicago than Mexico. No Spanish, just English. The cocktail was a tangy treat though, a Tamarind Margarita (Photo 8), and the Jicama Taco was a satisfying veggie ending to our evening (Photo 10). However, the staff didn't make us feel that way since they gave us the table with inarguably the best view of the city during the most photogenic time of the day, magic hour at sunset (Photo 3). How did we get so lucky since we made our reservation just the day before? And what better way to start than with a pair of MX$340 Carajillos, the Mexican version of espresso martinis (Photo 7). The use of Licor 43 lent a welcome sweet spiciness to the deep espresso and fit the moment perfectly. We were happy to receive a complimentary serving of warm Focaccia topped with a wedge of liver pate, olive oil, and chives (Photo 10). It was a nice surprise quickly devoured. Our first shared dish was the MX$365 Ensalada Luna, a hearty and enticing mix of greens, stracciatella cheese, speck ham, fresh peaches and figs, and quinoa in a citrus and vanilla vinaigrette (Photo 4). Our entree was the MX$406 Tacos de Lechon Rostizado, a trio of roasted suckling pig tacos with crispy skin cracklings, red onion, and fresh green salsa (Photo 5). The pork was fork tender. Nestled in a flour tortilla, the soft pulled meat stood in nice contrast to the crack of the skin. We went for a second drink, but this time a mocktail, the MX$195 Chilate, a refreshing alcohol-free blend of cacao, rice, cinnamon, and raw cane sugar in a coconut shell (Photo 6). While awaiting our dessert order, we were surprised by a complimentary Happy Anniversary dessert, a bit of a head-scratcher. We didn't say we were celebrating anything, but hey, we didn't complain. The sparkler was already lit and the staff was harmonizing. It was a chocolate ganache cake with blueberries atop puffed rice (Photo 8). That didn't stop us from enjoying the crispy-sweet MX$289 Churros with cinnamon ice cream and champurrado chocolate sauce (Photo 9), while entranced by the nighttime view (Photo 2). She went to this particular traditional restaurant known for their signature dish, Molcajete. The term first refers to a Mexican mortar bowl made of basalt volcanic rock standing on three stubby legs. The same term also refers to the food inside. It's quite simple because it's all about the ingredients and the execution. Jamie W and I ordered the MX$550 Mix Volcanic Bowl where they grilled large amounts of arrachera (skirt steak), chicken, and cecina (cured beef) while heating up the molcajete. The meat was then layered in the bowl along with nopales (cactus), green onion, chiles, peppers, and queso blanco cheese. A spicy green chile verde sauce was drizzled all over the gluttonous mix (Photo 7). Fresh guacamole and creamy refried beans were served on the side (Photo 4). A stack of freshly made tortillas was provided in order to gorge on all of the hearty indulgence which continues to stream well after its arrival at the table. The total amount could've easily served four ravenous people with both the arrachera and nopales the delectable standouts. Out of blissful ignorance, we both ordered salads as if the volcanic bowl wasn't going to satisfy us. Jamie had the MX$135 Mixed Salad with lettuce, grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion, pasilla chiles, mushrooms, and a rosette of avocado slices (Photo 8). I went with the MX$200 House Salad with lettuce, hearts of palm, cubes of chihuahua cheese, green olives, grape tomatoes, and red onion (Photo 9). Both were more than freshly satisfying as we were filling up on housemade tortilla chips with red salsa and fresh pico de gallo (Photo 5). The space was cavernous with plenty of room for large parties as families converged on this place. We could totally envision live music performances in here, especially with a long, fully stocked bar beckoning. Although I've seen mocajetes on random Mexican menus around San Francisco, I agree with Pati that this type of place would be quite successful stateside. If you're planning a trip to San Miguel de Allende, I recommend following Pati's advice. From our third stop, Le Pegaso (review: https://yelp.to/rmPAJsgLVf), we had to cross the cobblestone streets around the central plaza, Jardin Allende. Down home, streetwise…read moreand Mama's way of putting viands together, from the aromas, the décor, the atmosphere and the service extraordinaire!. This obscure place from outside, when you walk in becomes what appears to be a Hacienda along with a patio, Terraza and balconies all around and cantina where you walk in! Not only was this place beautiful in the most traditional of Mexican styles, with tiled and wrought iron stairs to upper balconies, built in shelves and niches withing stone, wallpapered and muralled walls, a typical bar inlaid with the structure with magnificent woodwork and an excellent bartender I might add, clay flower pots galore hanging from the balcony flooring, and an incredible full skylight, wall to wall, but that's not the best of it. The food. The food was magnificent. I have had many a meal in Mexico, I have tried many, many styles of regional cuisine, but I had never ever had the specialty of this house - the Enmolada! The unique specialty of the house at La Cocina Café del Viajero are Enmoladas which are a dish consisting of tortillas in mole sauce... stuffed with fillings of almost any inkling! Enmoladas are a established indigenous dish made with corn tortillas that is coated in mole sauce. This is what I had to have. First let me mention that the food here is incredible, overall. We obviously started with bottled water, a couple of okay Margaritas and some Modelos. As is the custom, we had the Guacamole, which was extraordinarily excellent, with homemade chips, really, really good chips. Someone at the table ordered the Enchilada Capital with Mexican rice - extraordinary and very picoso! To make a long story short, my order of the Enmolada was exquisite. Most folk like me, were only familiar with enchilada sauce, but Enmolada sauce is unique. The enchiladas are smothered in mole sauce, offering a exceptional merge of flavors that stretch from spicy and sweet to savory and smoky. Totally overwhelming the palate, as your tastebuds go in a freefall. They compacted shredded chicken, then rolled it, then garnished it with fresh toppings of crema and cheese. Wow! Needless to say, this was an experience! An exquisite location, excellent service, terrific atmosphere and one of the most life changing taste adventures I had in Mexico. Try an Enmolada, maybe here, it's terrific.
