I couldn't be more pleased with the chance to relax before a 12 hour day of traveling. It was exactly as Shaylyn Dee's review five years ago. Today was my first trip to O'Hare airport using Peoria Charter company from ISR at the UIUC campus. I am so very pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoying the drive as I write this review. I completed a UIUC campus visit yesterday, 2/23/25, and being a student 46 years ago I was bracing for the worst as I was acquainted with greyhound bus service - grim. Instead, I was greeted with a smile and quiet confidence by Jim Downing, the driver who immediately identified me on his list of passengers he had. He told me he wouldn't have left and would have waited for me as I had to hustle from waiting inside ISR. Note: the bus parked in front of the Faculty Center, and not iSR. He immediately stowed me my two pieces of luggage, and confirmed that they were free of charge upon boarding. I took the front seat which had a shelf that served as a very practical desk. The coach was uber clean, temperature comfortable, and on time to the minute Jim gave me a courteous and warm orientation, including Wi-Fi password and charger cable outlets, He related to me that there was only one stop Downers Grove and then a mall before O'Hare. We discussed student dynamics where there were 66 students on Sunday and only 22 on Monday - the day I'm traveling. This was a very useful piece of information. He also told me to be careful of high student volume during Easter, spring break and end of school. With this information, I will use this transport in the future to go back to O'Hare on Monday. I am shocked by the negative reviews but will take precautions in learning the pick up point in O'Hare till then. I spoke to Jim on where to pick up Peoria Charter bus in O Hare and will research the location as I have time at O'Hare.. Perhaps I got very lucky with the driver Thank you Jim Downing!

Like others have said, it usually involved a random stop at a hotel parking lot in the middle of nowhere and we would switch shuttles and/or drivers. Shady, awkward, inconvenient. 2.) My then-boyfriend had an early flight in Indianapolis, and I booked him a ticket on a Lex shuttle because there were no other options for a 2 am departure. He was the only passenger, and the driver was a pregnant woman. As soon as they got on the highway, he noticed her head bobbing. He asked her if she was okay, and she told him that she was really tired and ASKED IF HE COULD DRIVE WHILE SHE SLEPT IN THE BACK. WHAT. IS. THIS. My boyfriend obliged (...) and drove the shuttle all the way to the airport. Hahahaha! When he pulled the shuttle in to the airport, the lady thanked him and was on her way. 3.) Yes, I have taken Lex even after that. I missed my Amtrak train at Union Station and needed to get to Champaign that day, so I called Lex. Lucky for me, they already had a shuttle on the way. There were a few other people, probably students, riding with me. I was sitting directly behind the driver and could see his hands and face in the mirror. During the whole trip, he had his cell phone in his lap or on the steering wheel and was texting. I mean, come on. I don't even want to know what sort of subject matter caused a 50-something guy to be glued to his phone like that. Just kidding, I totally tried to read the texts but couldn't. I do know that he was an awful texter and driver. He kept veering out of his lane just a little whenever he was looking down. Lex really needs to get their stuff in order and screen their drivers. And yes, their hub is also a jacuzzi showroom or something. It's strange. The only good thing I can say about Lex is that I can usually bribe the driver to take me directly to my house instead of the hub. I've never taken the buses, only minivan-type shuttles, so maybe those are better. I only take Amtrak now-- I'd rather deal with long waits than crazy drivers.

Next morning, it's 4:35am and no taxi. I call their number, there's a pause, which tells me he totally forgot about me, and says "my car broke down, let me see what I can do, if my sister can come and get me, I can pick you up with the truck (?), I can probably be there in 30 minutes, I'll call you back in 10 minutes ..." OMG! I have a flight that starts boarding in 50 minutes, and he's calling back in 10 minutes! I gave him the benefit of a doubt as there's no other way to get to the airport ... no Ubers this early. Nothing. You can guess how this ends. "Sorry, not gonna make it" I guess I should have been dubious when he didn't ask for a name or phone number upon scheduling the pickup. Long story short, I woke up hotel manager and he drove me to the airport in his own car ... and I gave him the money that this taxi company was going to charge me. I made my flight with 15 minutes to spare. Perhaps if you need a ride to the grocery store, this taxi company will be fine. But I certainly wouldn't use them for anything important like trying to make an early morning flight. Life is too short for this type of aggravation ... and what's the point of supporting a business that's not reliable?

Same thing happened once before, but they were accommodating , and made arrangements to pickup myself and another stranded passenger. I have used their service three times and had problems twice. BTW they do not refund ticket funds.
