I called the company that our HOA recommended but never heard back. Called Precision and they promptly gave me a quote, helped me out a little on the emergency pricing, came out, fixed the issue, and got our buildings sprinklers back on. They were so kind, professional, clean, and courteous, so much so that I asked our HOA management to consider them for future annual inspections. Really grateful for the speed they handled everything.

Based on their performance, it is clear Precision Fire Protection respects none of these things. But you don't have to take my word for it... Below is a summary of our two-month ordeal resulting from engaging Precision Fire Protection to conduct a full sprinkler head replacement in our building. If anything is unclear, or you have questions, please feel free to contact me. I'll gladly explain anything that helps someone else make a better, more informed choice. In early October 2023, we were collecting proposals to have 300+ sprinkler heads replaced in our building. Precision Fire was about 30% higher than some out of county competitors, but brought the amount down so we could buy local. We were very happy with this, so we signed a proposal on 10/12. On 10/13, their Project Manager Tom Wilson was to come by to walk the site with a superintendent. He was a no call, no show. He apologized and rescheduled for 10/17. I was stood up a second time. No call, no show. Tom finally arrived the morning of 10/18 to walk the site. He said everything looked good and that we could begin the following week. We had another large interior construction project going on, so I gave Tom the contact information for our site coordinator so that they could brief Tom and the folks at Precision Fire on our site security protocols and procedures and make sure neither Precision Fire, nor the other contractors we had on site got in each other's way. Tom assured me they would make contact. They did not contact our site coordinator. Instead, Precision showed up on Monday the 23rd unannounced. They did not warn us or our alarm company, so they set off the alarms when they drained the system. They left our doors open, so unauthorized members of the public wandered on to an active construction site. During the head replacement, Precision did not properly cover office furniture, leaving black stains and debris on workspaces. The left black stains on the exterior of our building and on a custom hand-painted mural. The flow switch was not properly set upon completion of the job, so staff was called back at night when the alarm went off and the Fire Department was dispatched. Escutcheons and old sprinkler heads were left in piles where they were taken off. Precision took a 15 foot ladder out of our storage, used it, and left it in walkway for our staff to put away. They tossed around furniture and expensive art pieces that had been packaged and stored during the construction. A rented scissor lift has been left on site, covered in boxes of old sprinklers and escutcheons, for the past 49 days. Dear reader, that rented scissor lift is STILL HERE blocking our doors as I write this in December. We have had to call Precision Fire back out several to clean up their messes and to finish the job. We signed the proposal on 10/12, and it is now 12/11. We are still not done. As part of our agreement, we paid to have a five year certification done (it's listed on our contract), but we have nothing to show for it. One of the escutcheons (that we can see) that we've been "waiting on a part for" finally arrived, but it appears that meant they finally found some scrap metal to fashion it out of (photo included). I have phoned and emailed the owner, Art Galindo, and have received no response. As a result, we have no faith in the quality of work completed by Precision Fire Protection and will need to call in another provider to do the inspection and complete the 5 year certification. I will update this account when that is complete.

As the owner of VC Backflow, I am sharing my personal experience with Rudy, the owner of Cobos Fire…read more& Safety, and the circumstances surrounding his conduct toward my business. While performing backflow testing at a commercial property, I was approached by representatives of the company operating at the location. They asked whether VC Backflow could replace a valve or recommend someone who could perform the work. I was informed that Rudy had been given approximately three months to complete the job, but the work remained unfinished. I explained that I would look into the request and get back to them. Unbeknownst to me, the company subsequently informed Rudy that his services were no longer needed for that particular job and that VC Backflow would be handling the work. Shortly afterward, a one-star review appeared on my company's Yelp page under the name Rudy C. The review contained serious allegations about VC Backflow's licensing, insurance, qualifications, and business practices. Rudy made these statements without having knowledge of our insurance coverage, internal operations, business relationships, or who performs our contracted work. After receiving the review, I contacted the company at the job site to ask who Rudy was. They identified him as the individual they had previously hired and subsequently informed that VC Backflow would be handling the job. I then contacted Rudy directly to discuss the review. During that conversation, he made threatening remarks toward me and stated that I should not be taking other people's jobs. He also refused to remove the review. The review was originally published under the name Rudy C. on July 25, 2024. The same review subsequently appeared under the name Jennifer S., after the reviewer's Yelp display name was changed. I have preserved screenshots documenting both versions of the review. Following this incident, several positive reviews of my business were reported and removed from multiple platforms. As a fellow business owner, I find this entire experience extremely disappointing. VC Backflow was approached by a customer who needed assistance with an unfinished job. We did not solicit Rudy's customer or interfere with an existing agreement. The customer made its own decision regarding who it wanted to perform the work. No business owner should have to deal with damaging allegations about their company simply because a customer decides to hire another contractor. I believe professional competition should be based on the quality of work, customer service, and the ability to fulfill commitments--not on making allegations about another business's qualifications and operations. I am sharing this experience so that other business owners and prospective customers can make their own informed decisions about working with Cobos Fire & Safety.
