I really wanted to like this place. I was so excited to find out there was a Serbian restaurant nearby. That's not really really let me explain that but it's not really. I tried to order some Serbian dishes, but it was told that they no longer had them even like the bread bread. They haven't had it for months. I am used to having made fresh every day so that was kind of strange to me. I did end up having the car which was OK but nothing special again I was more disappointed that Serbian restaurant I didn't have any other Serbian dishes that I wanted For a sports bar, it's awesome. This is a really nice spot! don't let the outside fool you you can't tell much until you step inside and it is a sports bar heaven plenty of room seats at the bar or table top or a regular table. A group of us went to the new location in St.John to watch the Indiana Pacers game and they didn't have the game on and it's the Eastern Conference Finals. Manager put the game and sound on then someone put touch tunes on and music started playing. Staff said they couldn't turn the sound back on even though it's the Eastern Conference Finals. One of the parents in the group asked if they understood it was the Indiana Pacers not the Indianapolis Pacers. So, for the 2.00 they made in touch tunes we left and they lost 200.00. Why advertise you have 50 TVs if you're a music bar and not a sports bar. Idiots! read more

The food here is decent. It's a great atmosphere for what you call a sports bar , but works well with the great service. I whole heartedly expected it to be busy , but it wasn't. First time and I had a decent experience. It was a Friday evening and the phone rang busy for almost an hour straight. Friendly voice on the other end took my order and told me to give about an hour. They were very busy. Understandable. I went over to pick up my order and waited just ten extra minutes inside so I know it was freshly prepared and wasn't sitting waiting for me. The apps were great bar food appetizers: onion rings, fried pickles & wings (Thai Chili). I ordered the Lake Perch Dinner. My son ordered the fried chicken tender meal. Lake Perch was a little on the dry side. But boneless (plus!) and good flavor. The fries were excellent and it came with tartar & Cole slaw and some amazing garlic bread! Chicken tenders were a bit dry too. But the fries were excellent. The apps were fantastic too. Maybe we needed some fried food? Either way they were fresh and hot. I would want to get the French fries every time now. So tasty. I definitely want to go back and try more sandwiches and dinners too. read more

I have tried the Cevaps (Serbian sausage, usually made for beef or beef and pork) before, however this time, taste was like I was at a Serbian picnic. Great Taste! My group of three ordered the *Gypsy Platter". The menu stated it serves 4, however I would say easy 5-6. Only other extra menu item ordered was Sopska salad (Serbian salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and feta). If you have never had Serbian food, come here and try. We go to R Bar quite often for dinner. They have different specials every night and the food is definitely above average for bar food. Wednesday night is burger night and that by far is our favorite option. They have plenty of beer options and plenty of tvs to watch the games. Thursday night is bingo night and the place gets packed. The waitresses and bartenders are always attentive and around if you need something. Definitely will be back again since we live in the area. read more

We had a previous negative experience while celebrating a friends graduation, where we had to seek out our own napkins, condiments, and boxes since our waitress was rarely at our table in a near empty restaurant. However we decided to give it another chance. We went in to eat and were told that there were no tables available, they were all reserved. The restaurant was once again nearly empty. I have passed R-Bar for almost 3 years and finally tried them out! Boy was I missing out the past few years! R-Bar takes carry-out and curb side orders. We ordered a ton of things - the pick three starter combo (we ordered wings, jalapeño poppers, and potato skins), Garlic Gouda burger, black 'n bleu burger, fish tacos, and molten chocolate cake. Even when taking the food home, the fries that came with the burger stayed crispy as well as the chicken wings! Everything was delicious. The burgers were huge and the best part they were flavorful! ordered 14" heavy soul and the toppings were hardly there and they were at least 2" in from the edge. Two slices did not have any sauce and the rest was light on the sauce. Asked for some extra sauce to add to the pizza and they charged us for the small cup of sauce. We live close by and been to this place a few times and it was always good and we felt it was worth the prices. But it seems like their quality and portion have both gone down. I came here with my girlfriend in hopes for a cool and tasty, local spot. There are a few doors up front. To enter, use the door towards the left. We waited a bit at the front to be seated. It was really dead in there, which was good, because I don't care for an experience when it's jam packed. I ordered a Diet Soda and a Deep Eddy's Lime Mixer. We ordered the Southwest Egg Rolls as an appetizer. We got the Classic 1/2 lb Burger, cooked medium rare. I chose Fries for the side. I added a side of the Kajmak spread as well. We also got the "R" Stuft Burger with pepper jack cheese. We wanted to get both and share. The Diet Soda was good. The Eddy's Mixer was pretty good for the most part. It was definitely interesting, but for me, one was good for tonight. The Southwest Egg Rolls were freaking awesome! The sauce even took them to a whole other level of greatness. The Classic Burger was pretty big I'd say. I really wasn't expecting it to be. It was cooked just right and kept me going until it was gone. The Fries were great. The Kajmak spread tasted almost like butter. I didn't have too good of items to bring it to the true potential it may have had. The "R" Stuft Burger was a lot larger than the Classic Burger and the pepper jack cheese seemed as if it was this Burger's soulmate. I dang near ate half of it myself, even after I finished the Classic Burger. The service was steady throughout and she managed to check up on us periodically. She brought us everything we needed right after we asked. I don't have any complaints in terms of service from our waitress. Overall, I really enjoyed all the food. I'd say the items should be a bit cheaper on the price scale. Next time, I'd like to try a whole new list of items to see what else they have up their sleeve. read more

Great place we've been for Taco Tuesday and Friday chicken. Both were great and very reasonable Drinks where also very reasonable. Will say busy and very loud Friday night. My rating isn't about the service or food. It's about the Cop that walked up to my nephew and his friend, this past Saturday, within 3 seconds of walking in to tell my nephews friend to "take his hoodie off." It happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to react, as the adult in the group. My nephew's friend complied, but he shouldn't have too in this situation he was doing NOTHING WRONG. This cop didn't walk up to everyone else wearing baseball caps and tell them to remove them. There's NO signs anywhere inside the restaurant that say "remove hoodie from your head." So why did this happen. Was it because you saw 2 teenage black boys come in? Or is this a legitimate un-posted Rule inside your establishment? Wow, if you thought a sports bar was just a bunch sports fanatics hollering and screaming at the TV you will be pleasantly surprised at R-Bar and Grill. Everyone was friendly and courteous. There are plenty of shows to watch and included on taco Tuesday free bar bingo with a caller making it fun an using the time to hone his standup act ( I think). Food was great with a variety of options including authentic Serbian cuisine. We really enjoyed our visit to R-Bar. I could see it becoming our go to sports bar and grill. read more

In town for a swim meet. Used YELP! to find a sports bar where we could watch the beginning of the NFL games, grab some lunch and a drink before heading to the school for the meet. I noticed the Serbian food on the menu and it struck me as a funny combination (sports bar and authentic Serbian food). We decided to visit, and I am so glad we did! You can of course have your beer, nachos and football, like any other sports bar. The place is large, clean, staff is trained well, dressed well. But make sure you sample some of the Serbian fare. It is excellent! Try the cevap platter to get an idea of the flavors you will be in store for. Can't wait until next year's swim meet so we can head back! read more
