R.H. Smith is a long deli-style counter packed with meat, eggs, pies and pasties, milk, butter and a wide range of cheeses. It also sells juice, bread, condiments and a range of other essentials. As a vegetarian, I can't get particularly enthusiastic about the meat section, but the cheese section was certainly rather tempting! R.H. Smith is one of those quintessential market stalls and it appears to take a great deal more pride in itself than some of the other stalls in the market, which can poorly-signed and a bit haphazardly stocked. It has a huge shiny blue sign proclaiming its name to shoppers within eye-shot and is very well stocked with everything neatly labelled. With reasonable prices R.H. Smith is a great place to go if you want to support an independent retailer that has much more character than a faceless supermarket chain. Oh and they accept cards...which is a bonus! read more
