I have used cowells ( bobs ) for 20+ years and I have to they are by far the best butcher I have ever used. Staff are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Meat is of the highest standard and there made in house sausages are to die for. read more

The business was founded by Irwin and Helen Dickson who put all their capital into opening their first shop in the 'Nook' in South Shields. What do I love about this place? Their meat pies, love the chunky meat ones. Bought my first one must have been back ohhh over 2t0 years ago. Fantastiic Chunky Beef individual pie. Packed ssolid with meat. The Butchers Shop iis still there, same shop, same family. If you ever visit Guidepost it's a must try pie.
