The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the fire place at night after a long day. My rabbit loving sister especially enjoyed all the rabbit decor. The food was amazing! We loved our breakfasts and the dinner we had at 24 Carat, as well as the drinks served at the snooty fox. The innkeeper, Phoebe Grace, and Kate, are awesome and always accommodating to our requests My wife is gluten sensitive. We told them prior to our arrival. They made several GF items that were above and beyond. Every meal or afternoon tea were accompanied by special GF items and my wife said they all were delicious I again asked foie gras for my appetizer both nights. Phoebe Grace knew a couple weeks ahead. They came through again. Dan, the chef varied the preparations and hit the mark on the second night. Perfect!! The amount of GF thought was amazing. We did not have to remind any staff. They already thought that GF diet restriction through and had items ready for my wife. Essentially, they were 3 course meals. The breakfasts were to die for. Essentially, they were 3 course meals. Menu items change according to season so don't just go with the menu shown on their website. Ask them to email you the current menu. Met one of the owners. Mark sat with us during our dinner and was very very nice. The inn's staff is frequently changing. BUT, the quality of service continues to be excellent. Was finally able to make it here, visited Vermont back in 2021 but the kitchen limited their seating to prioritize guests of the Inn during covid so it was a no go. The complementary amuse bouche was dill goat cheese with blackberry and marcona almond. Next was a roll with carrot shaped lightly whipped butter with black lava sea salt (that the chef brought back from Hawaii). Appetizer - French onion soup with crostini. For my entree I got the halibut with blood orange breurre blanc, finger lime caviar and summer vegetables. Dessert was rosemary pana cotta, rhubarb coulis and berry salad. My meal here was overall very good, the dessert was the most notable as it was a tart and fresh surprise and was happy that I could taste the rosemary but that it didn't overpower. This review is only for the restaurant located in the Rabbit Inn. Have to admit the grounds of the Rabbit Inn are beautiful. The landscaping is well maintained and just so picturesque of what you'd expect a charming Inn to look like. Unfortunately, its award winning restaurant fell extremely short. To begin with my reservation was never recorded but that was okay because there was only one table of 4 in the entire restaurant. As we were seated the waitress informed us that she was new but not to worry she was being mentored. Well, without getting into details everything was just awful. The poor girl couldn't remember anything and everything took forever to come out. I have no idea where the guy who was suppose to be mentoring her was because he never checked on her and we had to flag her down to get her attention to remind her of our drinks, appetizer plates and utensils. Keep in mind there was only 1 other table there. It was painful! We had to remind her of everything. Items ordered: Soup of the Day - very good Grilled Caesar - very good 24 Carrot Winter Salad - not impressed Entrees Pork Chops (stuffed) - very good Scallops - this was a complete rip off! They gave you 4 quarter sized scallops which were overcooked in a greenish sauce (I think it may have been asparagus ). The sauce was very good. This entree really should have been an appetizer. It was that small I didn't even want to give my kids a bite because they both ordered the pork chops. Extremely disappointed especially when they charged me $40.00 per plate. Absolutely ridiculous that the "meal" was just 4 small scallops in sauce, no sides, nothing else. My wife who never finishes her plates was hungry when we left. This has never happened before ever. A visit to Rabbit Hill inn was a just what we needed after the holidays to slow down and unwind. Such a quaint and quiet spot, we felt like we stepped back in time when we entered the main Inn to check in. We booked an outside room that had a beautiful comfy bed, large bathroom, and two chairs poised toward the fireplace. This room screams "slow down, sit, talk, reconnect". No television, only board games, puzzles and books to aid in your quest for relaxation. The afternoon tea offered in the main inn was lovely, and seeing couples and small groups working on the very challenging Stave puzzles in the parlor was nostalgic. The attached restaurant was fantastic. We loved our dinner and the included breakfast was delicious with a surprising array of homemade baked items, granola, fresh fruit and yogurt and a choice from 2 huge hot dishes. We took day trips to a couple of breweries, visited Littleton where we shopped and had dinner on the water, then walked over the covered bridge at night. This area of the country is beautiful, the drive alone was a relaxing experience, with snowy, sunlit hills to admire along 93. This trip holds a special place in my heart and Id like to make it an annual visit whenever possible. read more

Nice little inn but definitely not a top 100 in the nation inn. The room was clean and comfortable and we were told that the tap water was very clean, so feel free to drink it. Saturday's breakfast was disappointing as the scrambled eggs came in a puddle. Saturday night's dinner was a mix. My companion had the fish and she loved it. I got the lamb chops and I was not offered a offered a knife other than my butter knife, so I used the bread knife to cut some of the toughest chops I had ever eaten. We have been to many other inns in New England and unfortunately not in our top 5 by a long bit. read more

Decided we should also get married while there. From the very first phone call, they were beyond helpful with ironing out all the details. They also helped us schedule an ATV tour and provided a generous picnic lunch. You truly get what you pay for. I have never in my life experienced such genuine hospitality. A lovely, well run bed and breakfast! We arrived late on a Sunday (check in was 3-6pm). We arrived close to 7pm and the host was so kind and accommodating. We stayed in the Tiffany room the first night and the Reflections room the next two. So comfortable, loved the fireplace in the Reflections. Big enough to feel like staying in the room! We also enjoyed the common areas and chatting with others. The breakfasts were quite nice as well. Weather was iffy, but what a beautiful area. We ate at 24 Carat one evening. It was lovely, but both of us felt that our food was way over salted. I had the mushroom steak dish and my husband had the ravioli. The service is superb, we felt catered to in a relaxed way. Every exquisite detail has been attended to with the utmost attention. From the cozy decor throughout the property, to the outrageous, NYC caliber breakfasts and dinners, to the warm, welcoming rapport that our hosts Leslie and Brian developed with every guest, this was unforgettable experience, not just a place to stay. A few favorite highlights: the bunny decor scattered around, including one in the room a la elf on the shelf, fire places in every room, spacious accommodations with couch for lounging, handmade puzzles available at all hours, drinks at the Snooty fox pub before dinner, unique and friendly personalities for all employees, turn down service during dinner, silky red robes, little treats left on our pillow each evening, the breakfast - enough said, the lists of outstanding vendors and activities in the area, booking our activities in advance on our Behalf, afternoon treats in the lounge, among many more. I'm not sure whether the rabbit Hill makes the guests the friendliest versions of themselves or if that's the type of clients who go there, but everyone we met were just the nicest people we have ever encountered. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a getaway weekend at the Rabbit Hill Inn. We would not change a thing. We had an extremely relaxing and romantic weekend at RHI, nestled in the snow-dusted Vermont countryside. We stayed in the Music Room, an ample and adorable suite with a gorgeous four-poster bed and glowing fireplace. My husband and I live very busy, technology-consumed lives and it was awesome to put down the cell phones and play Scrabble, darts and chess for the weekend. My husband, who is a sleep-deprived physician, said our night at RHI was the best night of sleep he has ever had. That alone was wonderful. But wait... there's more... Our dinner was amazing. The RHI dining room is gorgeous with a stunning fireplace in the main room. My husband ordered the ricotta gnudi, Chandler Pond chicken, and the cheese plate. I ordered the parsnip soup and pan roasted fluke. Every bite was magnificent and there's something to be said about how nice it is to leave dinner with a full stomach and go straight to your room to relax afterward. Breakfast was equally satisfying. I had an olive/ricotta quiche and my husband had apple pancakes - both were outstanding. It is not often we get lucky with selecting lodging for an exploratory first trip to an area but we were so lucky to have chosen Rabbit Hill. We were staying in Molly's Promise and had selected the "Romantic Getaway" add-on package. Our expectations were low, after all, we had selected Rabbit Hill on the basis of location and viewing their website, not always a clear representation of accomodations. Upon our arrival, Leslie gave us a tour of the inn and our room. The lodge is quaint but warm and geared towards couples. Our room was amazing, complete with a gas fireplace, jacuzzi tub and nice sitting area. Our package came with a bottle of bubbles and dinner. We had scheduled our dinner at 7:30, so we had just enough time to unpack and settle down for a single glass of bubbles before dinner. In our experience, the bubbles included in packages are usually disappointing for us Wine Country snobs, but not at Rabbit Hill; we were surprised by a nice bottle of Cava. We are used to outstanding restaurants at home in Wine Country, so we were a little skeptical of the dinner but we were gleefully wrong again. The menu was intriguing, and the wine choices were good if not outstanding. The service was fabulous and the food was very, very good. We started with an excellent soup of curry and sweet potato; the flavor was amazing! For her mains, Mrs. had the Potato Gnocchi which was served with butternut squash, almonds, chard, "deconstructed" Brussel Sprouts, pomegranate and pecorino cheese. She normally avoids Brussels Sprouts but by serving the leaves separated, her objections were replaced by yummy sounds! I had the Braised Lamb Ragout served with ricotta cavatelli pasta, greens, pecorino cheese, olives, rosemary and harissa. I loved it! We were sated and smiling when the meal ended. In fact, the only criticism is that I could indulge with my post prandial latte as they do not have an espresso machine; aw, roughing it can be such a challenge. When we returned to the room, the lights were out, a hurricane lamp illuminated our bubbles, while candles adorned the mantle of the now lit fireplace and the jacuzzi tub. After we finished the cava, we enjoyed a soak in the tub before adjourning to the super comfy bed where local chocolate truffles awaited us. One night was not enough but our schedule was limited. We popped down for a delightful breakfast complete with mimosas. We left refreshed and happy. We were very lucky to find Brian and Leslie's Inn and will definitely return the next time we are in the area. read more

What an absolutely wonderful Bed & Breakfast run by very sweet people. My fiancée and I stayed here back at the end of March and we loved our time here. The Inn is located in a very nice part of VT and is close to Cabot, Goodrich's maple farm, and a variety of breweries. The owners are very kind people and they gave us full itinerary suggestions that were tailored just for us. The Inn has a quaint little pub in the main part of the house and it was so very relaxing to just sit there with a few drinks and play with the amazing Stave Puzzles (hand-made wood puzzles that cost hundreds of dollars each). The breakfast was very plentiful and delicious and was a great way to start our days! Our room was also quite clean and comfortable and it was just a wonderful experience overall. We drove during a huge snowstorm to get there but it was picture perfect winter scene outside the window the next morning, even if it was -15 degrees out. Had a magically weekend at the Rabbit Hill Inn. The staff was incredible at making you feel totally taken care of but still relaxed down to earth. We had dinner at the restaurant and the food was truly wonderful, using all local ingredient and beautifully prepared. As others have said even though the weather was great and we got outside to play some golf and go on walks, our favorite part was having a drink and working on our puzzle. Where to start with excellence? First I'll start with the owners Brian and Leslie, they are fantastic, she actually said to us, " Let us pamper you". The dining room staff are better than the owners, anything you need is the command. Food is eclectic and great, unusual spices and ingredient in combinations that work very well. Housekeeping, again fantastic. If you leave your room to go to your car, they know. In that 5 minute trip, they've fluffed, straightened and emptied. You think you're in your room for the first time. I asked a handyman for local directions, he did all but draw us a map. As for the rooms and Inn itself, you think you're in the 1800s but with electricity and heat.. The only thing I could find fault with is seeing Rabbit Hill Inn, in the rear view mirror. If you can't relax and enjoy RHI, have your doctor check your relax reflex it's malfunctioning!!!!! read more

We tried this B&B for our anniversary and stayed in the Carline room. It was the 2nd floor in the house next to the main house and no one was on the first floor. The balcony was peaceful and the hosts were accommodating. While we were there, we worked on one of the many Stave puzzles they have. Very relaxing and actually a lot of fun. We actually had to leave when were were midway through a puzzle and we left our email with the hosts to tell the next guests who finished the puzzle to email us a picture when this finished it. And they did! Roughly centrally located in New Hampshire and we were able to drive to many local sightseeing places that we had on our list, plus a few extra suggestions from our hosts. We just wanted to stop and have tea on our way bicycling in lower Waterford from Route 18. We were told in a very haughty tone they only serve their guests. We are from Washington DC but I have known this area a long long time. I was totally turned off and that is the last time I will visit this place. Will go to Sugar Hill in Franconia instead. Bet they would have served us tea. The gentleman who came out the door looked at us like we were not welcome. Absolutely fantastic inn. If your looking for a quiet weekend getaway where you can literally forget the outside world exists, there is no better place to do it. We stayed for two nights in the Cedar Glen room, which was a very comfortable and spacious log-cabin-style suite that felt instantly like a home away from home. When you first step into the room they have the lights on low, the fireplace running, candles lit by the whirlpool bath, and soft music playing in the background. From there, you can sink into the luxury of the giant hot tub like we did, fall onto the massive king-sized bed covered in soft pillows, or just sit by the fireplace and read a book. The stress of your day-to-day humdrum just vanishes. If that wasn't enough, the food is truly world-class restaurant quality. The breakfast dishes were huge and filling (their homemade sausages and hash are fantastic) and the dinner was fine dining at its best. If you want some pre- or post-dinner drinks, they even have a full service bar just a few feet from the dining room, ready to serve up any cocktail concoction you can dream of. Once you've had your fill of food and drink, you can meander back to your room without ever taking a step outside in that chilly Vermont air. As for the activities outside the inn, I can't speak to the winter sports (though I've been told there is plenty of that nearby) but if you're planning to do any shopping, you can just skip St. Johnsbury and go straight to Littleton, NH. The downtown area in Littleton is significantly more varied, with better/larger shops and a candy store with the BEST fudge ever. The fudge alone made the trip over there worth it. I could keep going on about the inn, but honestly, just go there. You'll be glad you did. read more

First of all - the rooms are beautiful (we stayed at Top of the Tavern). The attention to detail is picture-worthy. The area is gorgeous. The breakfast is exquisite. And the Stave Puzzles (these are $1,000+ puzzles free to play at the Inn) are addicting. What deserves extra recognition, however, is the hospitality of Leslie, Brian, Don, and staff. Coming from the busy, unforgiving streets of NYC, I was immediately taken aback by the warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring demeanor of the entire Rabbit Hill Inn crew. Because of this, I genuinely ENJOYED staying in. I was sick after my first night, but I didn't mind dragging myself to a 5 star breakfast catered by some of the nicest people I've ever met. I didn't mind taking my time to wind down and work on a puzzle. They offered soothing teas and hot water that seemed to hit the spot. The whole place catered to a perfect relaxing experience, even when I felt under the weather. The Northeast Kingdom had so many sprawling mountains and lakes to explore, but I'll remember their service among our hikes, tours, and fine dining. We'd read that Rabbit Hill was the most romantic destination in the Northeast. Truthfully, that accolade had us a tad worried. Would it be cheesy? It's anything but. We had a fabulous -- and yes, romantic -- honeymoon at Rabbit Hill where everyone goes out of their way to celebrate and pamper guests. Our room, large and luxurious, gave us the feeling of seclusion. The fireplace, candles, champagne delighted -- so did the little imaginative (and extraordinary) treats left in our room each night. What really makes this inn remarkable, however, is the food. The three course fixed-price dinners rival any five star restaurant's in taste and aesthetic. Between each of the courses, we were indulged with surprises from the Chef. We loved hiking in the White Mountains, taking a Vermont tasting tour, visiting quaint towns, and returning to play Cribbage in the pub. Truly extraordinary. Truly romantic. My girlfriend and I made our annual New Year's visit to the Rabbit Hill Inn. As always, the service, accommodations and dining were excellent! Each year there's a different theme on New Year's Eve. This past year (2018-2019) was amazing as always. It was a Mexican Fiesta! Most folks were dressed in the appropriate attire to enhance the evening and ring in the new year! It's the only night of the year the inn features entertainment by a DJ. He was terrific as always, playing a wide variety of music to suit everyone's taste. Our latest trip to Rabbit Hill Inn was awesome!. We were once again "welcomed home" and it felt more like family than just a place to stay. Brian & Leslie are superb Innkeepers - they lead and directed their impeccably trained staff, but were also personally involved with every detail of our stay. This stay was in a room we'd never stayed in previously, Turnabout. The room is in the oldest part of the Inn, and is full of charm and romance. Tasteful, elegant furnishings, a king-size 4-poster bed, and a large bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a large shower. This room is also ADA compliant. As usual, we solved several of the beautiful Stave puzzles during our stay. The Snooty Fox Pub houses the puzzles and several tables, and is a great place to meet other Inn guests, indulge in an afternoon pastry, or enjoy a cocktail in the evening. Free WiFi is available in the pub area, and also in several of the rooms that are nearby. The food was, as always, incomparable. The chef is very creative with use of local produce, and combines color, flavor, and texture in ways you wouldn't expect at a country Inn. The desserts were especially wonderful! Breakfasts are included in the room charge and features a choice between a sweet dish (pancakes, waffles, french toast, etc) and a savory dish (eggs, quiche, etc), plus a buffet of pastry, fruit, and homemade yogurt and granola. Dinners are an extra charge, but are completely worth it. The area close to the Inn had bountiful activities. One day, we took a guided ATV tour, riding on back roads and trails and seeing parts of Vermont we could never otherwise see. Another day, we went on a hike that was recommended by the Inn staff. The hike brought us to a secluded mountain peak with an incomparable view of the mountains. These were exactly the kinds of activities we were looking for during our stay. We have stayed at the Inn about a dozen times previously. Each time, we set our expectation levels very high, but they are always met or exceeded. Every detail is handled with style and grace. Prior to our wedding, my husband and I went back and forth over what to do for our honeymoon. Planning the wedding was stressful, and it was hard for us to get excited for a big international trip. Fortunately, my husband had heard of the Rabbit Hill Inn, and as soon as we saw the pictures and read the descriptions on their website, we were sold. We signed up for the five-night "Do Not Disturb" Honeymoon Package in the Jonathan Cummings Suite, and it was everything we could have possibly hoped for, and more. The inn was the perfect place to unwind from the wedding, celebrate our new marriage, and take a break from our lives. Every morning, we drifted into the dining room for a truly sumptuous breakfast, and every afternoon, we wandered into the parlor for tea time. On the nights that we had dinner reservations, we were treated to really delicious, sophisticated dining. When we got back to our room in the evening, all the lights would be turned down, and the candles would be lit, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The innkeepers, Brian and Leslie, and the staff are so friendly and kind and accommodating. They did a fantastic job of anticipating our every need and generally making us feel like we didn't have to worry about anything (which, if you know me, is quite the accomplishment!). When we felt like an adventure, we went hiking or touring. When we felt like staying inn, we cracked into their delightful collection of beautiful Stave wooden jigsaw puzzles. The most charming B&B with wonderful, warm, attentive staff and friendly guests. Our every need was attended to by Brian and Leslie along with every member of their team. The food was to die for, the room (Turnabout) was country quaint and so well kept by all the staff from linen to turndown service. I would recommend this Inn to anyone looking for a warm, peaceful, romantic getaway within a short drive to Ski Hearth Farm (snow shoeing) and Bretton Woods as well as the White Mountains. Rabbit Hill Inn is an amazing bed & breakfast. Brian and Leslie as well as the entire staff make you feel right at home immediately. They have exquisite attention to detail. The rooms are great with everything you need in them. Leslie makes wonderful local recommendations for whatever your interests. And I love the Stave puzzles! This is one of the B&Bs I have tried in my life. The attention to detail is extraordinary. We came here to celebrate a big wedding anniversary. The location is a bit remote (about 2 hrs from Burlington VT), tucked it in the little town of Waterford next to the border with NH. We stayed at the Samuel Hodby room - one of the luxury rooms in a building dated to the 1700s. The room was spacious, warming, inviting - more than expected. The Inn provides breakfast and dining to their guest in their 4 stars AAA rated restaurant. What was interesting is that it caters their guest. Breakfast is at a set time and offered a buffet area with fruits and pastries, also 2 kitchen selections - which changes daily. The dinners were fantastic as well. To avoid overcrowding and give you special attention, they will let you know at what time to show to the restaurant. While you are at dinner, they will go to your room and provide turn down service. The entire experience was magical. The inn keepers were very personable and ensure everything was perfect. They also provided with places to visit around the area. I can't wait to go back. read more

If we lived closer, we would treat ourselves to at least an annual visit. Even though we live clear across the country, my husband and I hope to return again in the future. We enjoy bed and breakfast type inns and this one far surpasses any we have stayed in. Brian, Leslie and entire staff are incredibly personable and friendly. The Inn was full to capacity while we were there, and yet they knew us by name and were attentive to our every need the entire time we were there. They offered great suggestions of the variety of things to do in the area depending on what our interests were. Fabulous breakfast. Make sure you have at least one meal there for dinner. Great attention to detail in every respect. A couple of weeks after I had made the reservations, I had a personal concern so I called Brian to inquire. As the time grew closer to our arrival, I considered calling to remind them, but then I decided it really wasn't that big of an issue and that we would deal with it. Brian must have made a notation, because the concern I had was addressed to meet our needs and to assure that we had the most pleasant experience. read more
