We went on a busy Saturday afternoon, and it was just over £5 for skating plus skate hire, so pretty reasonable for an afternoon out. The skates were so old and cheap, i reckon people were wearing these back in the 70's. The rink is quite big, although on a Saturday it does get very busy so it does feel a little cramped sometimes. Especially as you cling to the side and there is a hundred other people doing the same thing. The play some tunes while you skate so you can bop away, although who am I kidding skating is hard enough on its own- adding dance moves is too much. What I didn't like about this rink was the despite the fact there was signs everywhere saying "No Ice Hockey Skates" during the general skating, there was a large amount of teenagers clearly in their ice hockey skates. This wouldn't be a problem if they didn't chase each other around, unbelievably quickly I might add, or chip ice at each other. I saw them knock over a couple of people and there was a few times I almost fell over thanks to them speeding past me. It just felt like there should have been some stewards to stop it, but then they joined in with them as I guess they are all hockey buds. This ice rink really deserves 3 stars due to it being so outdated and the fact you can enjoy your skating without getting run over by a teenage boy, but the fact its the only skating rink for miles around earns it an extra star.

Although I do remember skating round the rink to Robert Miles and watching some other awesomely skilled ice skaters do their thing, and thinking I'd be keen to learn to ice skate properly, because it just looks so graceful and amazing if you can do it properly. Anyway, I suppose the concept of an Ice Rink is fairly self explanatory, so if you fancy a day of icy, slippy, fitness, then Murrayfield is the place to go. If you're into ice hockey, you can also watch quite a few games here. I also once attended a disco skating night here, where again, I skated about posing and checking out boys, but at night time rather than during the day. I have absolutely no idea if they still run such a night, because I'm about 15 years too old to have a clue now, but I remember at the time thinking it was brilliant.

The club is one of the main institutions in the area, and generally the fans have a good reputation in the game. The last time I saw Hibernian was when they beat Celtic at Parkhead when they came from behind and scored in the last minute to win two - one! This team is on the up, and locals and visitors to Edinburgh should pay a visit to Leith to see this team!

There's the dance machines, the motorbike arcade games, the slot machines, the frustrating 1p and 2p machine where the coins some how defy gravity and never fall off, air hockey machines and loads of other little games that keeps you entertained for hours, let alone any kids! The amusement hall is on the beach front and when it's warm an ice cream van parks up by it, offering lots of tempting treats. If you want to go for the full on traditional seaside experience, then about 5 minutes along the promenade, there's a whole series of fish and chips shops.

Heriots is one of the oldest, proudest and largest clubs in the Scottish rugby system (bar the big professional Glasgow and Edinburgh franchises) and the set up here just reeks of tradition. This year, Heriots celebrate their 125th anniversary, such is their history in the sport in this country. I've been here twice now with my son's team, Biggar RFC, to play against the Heriots U15 team. A fine team, well coached and disciplined, and that extends to their hospitality. Heriots is a great, friendly and welcoming club to all, visitors and opponents alike. Our game this weekend was played on the main pitch in front of the impressive stand; it just seeped with history and felt like somewhat of an honour to be part of the history of the place. Plus, y'know - Biggar won, so there was that. It's a lovely ground, and somewhere I wouldn't hesitate to return to, either with the kids' team or even just to take in a Premiership match one day.

Holyrood Park is a large park home to a number of historic sites and landmarks accessible via a…read moretrail system, including Arthur's Seat, Hunter's Bog, Dunsapie Crag, St Anthony's Chapel, Duddingston Loch, and The Radical Road. I approached on foot the morning of Friday 19 July 2019, reaching a sign of the park and its trail system at approximately 9:31 a.m. There were a number of cars coming and going already. It was my first visit to the park, so I opted to walk and skip any hassle I might encounter with parking. I was happy with that decision as it was a quick look at the map to get my bearings and I was on my way without needing to find parking. For my final destination in the park for the visit, I chose to hike to the top of Arthur's Seat - remains of a volcano that was active over 300 million years ago. The trails were well maintained and well designed for handling a large number of hikers.
