Any time I visit my Jersey friends I make it a point to stop at one and get my fix, and this stop in Edison was in my most direct path on my way back to Queens so I gave it a try. I ordered an Italian sandwich which was made fresh and hit just right, plus a giant pretzel to take home with me which was delicious. This Wawa was busy but pretty clean which I was happy about. They were well stocked with plenty of premade items too. I was disappointed they didn't have any of their stuffed pretzels available here, but I was here at a weird hour of day so maybe I'd just missed them. I'll obviously be back though because it's conveniently located on my route back to NY.

No small feat when gas prices can range from dirt cheap to outrageous within a block of one another. Which leads me to Fuel One in Edison, NJ. Right off a particularly manic section of Route 1, this station ain't much to look at and has no convenience store to speak of but it does serve a purpose of saving me six or seven bucks per tankful. So as I pull a Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift at 70mph to exit Route 1, thanks Fuel One and a hat top to GasBuddy for making my stunt driving so exhilarating. Five death defying stars.

The most recent two times I went here, it took around 10 minutes for my car to register any gas was put in. This is weird, as my car shows the gas filling up as it's being pumped and has never had this delay before. The attendant said it must be my car that's the problem, but it's fine with literally every other gas station? I took my car to a dealer later that day, for an unrelated reason, and mentioned the delay in the gas reading that anything was put into my car. The dealer checked my car and said that the meter was fine. He told me that the only other reason this would happen would be if the gas has been watered down or diluted in some other way. Ever since I stopped using this place I haven't had any issues with the gas meter. The attendant also tried scamming a mom who was on the other side of my gas stall. She asked for $15 of gas, and I heard him repeat it back to her. He then puts in $50 of gas and she's furious. He refused to take off the extra charge. I even told him how I heard her give the correct amount and that he repeated it back. He still refused. Really not fair.

Aggressively telling me to pull up my car a little more and then when I did immediately going "turn your engine off." He wasn't giving me time to breathe to follow his instructions. I felt like I was being berated by a teacher. He was really rude and I didn't appreciate it at all. It made me question if saving a few cents on gas was even worth it. I don't know if he's overworked or just a rude employee. It was uncalled for. About 90% of the time I get my gas at Costco but I'm going to reconsider if it happens again.

Every Wawa, I've been, including this one, have been bright, and clean, your typical selection of food, snacks,, sundries, beer/soda etc..... and they also have a fantastic hot food counter, where you can get items for breakfast/lunch/dinner. I heard the tacos are fantastic. They even have ATMs that do not charge a surcharge. (there may be a surcharge from your own bank, but not to use the ATM.) The gas prices are very reasonable, and hey, it's New Jersey. You don't pump your own gas. Just like the old days, you just pull up and say "fill 'er up!! ". I'm a fan. So I really appreciate it and it's one of my favorite spots to get gas in Edison. I always find myself over here because it's one of my favorite Gong Cha locations.
