2023 was my first year using this Marina. I really just winter outside in their yard. I had some work done on the fresh water cooling system on the engine which seems to have been successful. So, I was pleased with that. A few other services were done adequately, but not without problems. I expected that. Of note is the fact that they have raised their rates for labor by 25%, which is OK since I can always do those services myself. I expected a significant increase in charges because there really is no longer any competition in Racine for boats of my size. So far, I can adapt to this new environment. read more

I remember when this place was a sailboat dealership. Now it is a powerboat and inflatable facility with one line of sailboats. The owners for the past 25 or so years are at retirement age. Remains to be seen if the new generation is up to the task. I have a sailboat in for storage with a work order on file for some repairs. It will be educational come May to see if the work was done and at what level of quality. read more

Terrible service, boat was in for 7 weeks for minor issues and get it back with nothing repaired. Been 3 weeks since I picked it up and still no answers from the owner just excuse after excuse. Service told me to ignore my engine codes on the ETEC!!! Stay away!!! read more

I have had several boats both stored on and worked on by Riverside Marine over the past 10 years. We are talking from minor to major motor rebuild as well as fiberglass repair. There service has always been solid and staff very fair to deal with. Having been a boat owner for more than 20 years I know how difficult it is to find solid and consistent service on boats. Our boat (1998 Chris Craft 230 Sport Deck) incurred water damage to its transom 2012 summer. After a few missteps at other marine repairs centers we elected to transfer boat to a certified Volvo dealer recommended by Volvo, Main Marine in Racine. After Main Marine removed engine to replace transom seals, they discovered that the transom needed replacement and went to have two (2) estimates obtained. One from Racine Riverside about a block from them. Main Marine played a little gaming to try to secure work where the firm offered a dealer kickback, though Riverside offered a combination discount to complete both transom replacement and deck stress cracks. After I knowledge my acceptance by email to them, Riverside orchestrated additional costs (possibly to match others firm's kickback to Main Marine). Riverside increased the price $776.46 the day after I accepted, "After getting your lastest emails and going over the estimates with the techs I realized a few things that need to be addressed. I did not transfer the same cost of repair materials as the original estimate which was given to Main Marin on 3/7/2013 $450 for the transom repair materials. I also understand the repair materials for the rest of the gel-coat repair materials. It should be $250. I also didn't realize that there was no sales tax added to the estimates you received." (end) On May 3rd I reviewed repairs; the transom looked patched, though they did not replace the transom as required, only repaired some deck stress cracks on port, starboard, and bow. They were to remove windshield to properly repair stress cracks, color match, and repair all areas photographed (showing areas & measurements). Brad Strand, President first stated he would take care of all stress cracks and to mark them off with his yellow grease pencil and start the next day. A week later he did not keep his word and later used this to wedge my accepting not replacing transom as called for. I did not realize at first that Riverside covered up old damaged and stained wood within there piecemeal repair - not a true replacement required. They also used green treated wood which is frowned on and multiple small pieces with leaving about 25% old stained blacked old wood by engine hole. At my first inspection, I request any photographs of repairs or damage discovered. Upon multiple requests unfulfilled, I received one image (5/8/13) that proved my concerns that Riverside covered up required repairs and did not replace transom, as prepaid and authorized by insurance company thru myself. I am missing out on enjoying boating with my family, because Racine Riverside Marine is holding my boat hostage to accept something less than what I agreed to in my acceptance emails (four 4x) of April 5th, 2013. I was forced to accept the increase the following day, because I was leaving town and would not be able to change repair center at that last minute. I never accepted their change of my required repairs shown and detailed by my April 5th email referencing quote from March 28th, 2013. Upon receiving a new write up on April 6th, I called and stated the details were not correct, listing Hull only and not deck repairs. I finally had Sierra Boats completely undo Riverside's Transom repair. Sierra discovered that Riverside left water damaged and wet wood within and clearly covered up by painting over the areas. This should be criminal. I have images to prove my experience. Do not go to Riverside. They did not do a complete transom replacement - only a partial with the wrong green treated materials. It looked like a puzzle. read more

I purchased a new boat in March and was told 4-6 weeks for delivery. The boat arrived at the dealer the last week of April. Its June and still not ready. I have been told every excuse and lied to so much that it's hard to believe another word. I have stood for hours in the office waiting to be taken care of. I originally worked with salesperson Steve who is very good. I was transferred to another sales guy when Steve went on vacation. I won't use his name but he is terrible. Almost destroyed the deal I made on selling my old boat thru the dealer. Didn't order the right trailer and delayed ordering the right one. Still waiting for right trailer to arrive. I couldn't get them to call or email me back. I had to stop in and talk to the owner. Nice guy and promised me delivery by first week of June. Turned out to be another lie. I could go on and on and haven't even addressed the rigging issues. Worst buying experience I have ever had. I read the other reviews and wonder if I'm at the same place. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I bought a boat from here sight-unseen from Florida since it was such an amazing deal, and the entire crew were amazing to work with. Steve especially was very patient and helpful with organizing everything and providing what I needed when asked. Such nice people to work with! And here I am now, back in Florida after an 18 hour drive back picking up my new boat, and thinking to myself that his entire process could not have possibly gone any smoother than it did. I dealt with salesman Steve recently and he was top-notch. I actually bought a Honda Outboard BF225 from the internet. I traveled from Mentor, Ohio. The entire outfit, from sales, to their mechanics, to the gal behind the counter are all great to deal with.
