Radio is a great little bar to plant yourself in and have a good, long chin-wag with a few old friends. It's never too hectic or loud, but has enough atmosphere to keep you there well into the night.
It's kind of hard to describe Radio. While it's not a 'get up and dance' venue, you'll often hear some nice old tunes being spun here. It's not like a true dive bar but it's dark and certainly nothing fancy - the bar has a good selection of bottled beers, an decent but not enormous wine list and basic spirits. The chairs and tables are comfy and offer an intimate, casual setting. I dunno, Radio is just a solid little bar.
Radio is pretty easy to walk past and not even notice - look out for the big playschool-esuqe window with the boom box peaking out. However, it becomes highly visible and noticeably busier during the Gertrude Street Projection Festival when the exterior gets all lit-up with pretty patterns.
