Not even sure how there was a bad review on here- our experience with her was nothing short of incredible! She told us exactly what to do! I am not used to having professional photos taken of me and felt it would be awkward- but that was not the case at all! She told us exactly what to do with our hands and where to look- and took us to several locations all over the venue to make sure we got amazing shots! She made sure to let us know how much time remained so we could get additional pictures of friends and family it was amazing to have someone so on top of it! I also really appreciated Rae's honesty! My feet were killing me the day of my wedding and I took off my shoes for some photos and she made sure to position me in certain ways so you couldn't tell, and if I did look awkward she made sure to keep it real with me so I would love how the photos turned out! She was so great! Its hard enough planning a destination wedding not knowing anything about the venue or anything else- Rae was super friendly on the phone and touched base with us before the wedding as to make sure she knew exactly what we wanted. "Everything happens for a reason." I don't think it was luck that we got to meet and work with Rae for our maternity shoot while on our babymoon in Hawaii last week. Long story short, we fired our original photographer, lost our $200 retainer, and hired a new photographer less than a week before our trip! We were desperate and Rae literally came to our rescue after I sent out an SOS on IG to find a photographer last minute. From our initial messages via DM to our phone conversation later that afternoon, Rae was like a breath of fresh air, NO JOKE!! I was so stressed, almost to the point of tears, from dealing with our nightmare photographer. As soon as I got off the phone with her, however, I felt such a sense of relief that I didn't care we were going to lose our $200 if it meant not having to work with someone we no longer felt comfortable with. Right off the bat, I could tell that Rae cares about her clients and we weren't just a "job" to her. Even though we weren't hiring her to shoot a large event like a wedding, it was still our "event", nonetheless, and she never made us feel any less important because of it. Beyond her professionalism and her bubbly, down-to-earth personality, Rae's work truly speaks for itself because THEY. ARE. GORGEOUS. She took her time making us feel 100% comfortable in front of her camera and we never once felt rushed or awkward; you could tell that she wanted to make sure she got the right shot, and it truly shows! By the time our session ended, both hubs and I were CONVINCED that we absolutely made the right decision in moving on from our original photographer; had it not been for the other photographer's lack of communication, poor customer service, and overall passive aggressive attitude, we would have never met Rae and we most certainly would have never received such amazing photos back less than a week after our session! Rae is absolutely amazing! Don't hesitate for one second to book her. My husband and I got married 5 years ago and absolutely hated our wedding pictures. We didn't like our photographer (who we didn't meet until the day of the wedding) and I wasn't into my hair and makeup. I was so disappointed! We went to O'ahu for our honeymoon and fell in love with the Hawaiian island. Fast forward to 2018 - I was planning a trip to O'ahu for our anniversary and we decided to "redo" our wedding portraits! I was following her work for a year before I decided to book with her. She was very responsive even though she was on HNL time and she was so sweet! We had to reschedule our trip due to a personal emergency and she was so thoughtful and flexible. Fast forward to the day of our shoot in early Nov - she arrived right on time and had such a happy and bubbly energy! We felt so comfortable with her! She definitely made us laugh and made us pose in just the right directions. The photoshoot flew by! Today, I received an email with the full gallery and OMG...my husband and I are absolutely floored. Every single photo is my favorite (and that NEVER happens)! I can't wait to share with friends and family, and print portraits to hang in our home. We will cherish these photos for many years to come. We can't express our gratitude enough and hope to have Rae take our photos again and again when we visit the islands as our family grows. I booked a session with Rae back in June 2021 for a once in a lifetime opportunity for a family shoot with the entire family. I managed to save enough to get my parents, my sister's family of 4, and my family of 6 over to Oahu for a memorable vacation. Based on all the great reviews and all the pictures she posts, I chose her for the important task of taking our family photos. Prior to the shoot in June (I booked her in May), she emailed once to ask what are the most important shots i wanted to get out of this session. I told her that the MOST important is a family photo of all 12 of us. Come the day of the shoot, she was impersonable. Didn't really chat or get to know us. She didn't tell us how to pose and didn't correct our posture, hair, or clothes when it was flying in weird directions. The sun was blinding us but instead of changing direction or location, she just kept on shooting. Our session also called for a change of clothes with a different location but that wasn't even mentioned or offered on the day of the shoot. Everything just felt super rushed. You can sense that she just wanted to get things over with. Fast forward several weeks when we got our photos online. I was so disappointed. I tried to look for a family photo but only saw one with everyone BUT my sister and her husband. And even with that photo, we realized that she had photoshoped my husband and I into a picture that she took of my parents and the grandkids. When i questioned her what had happened, she said there was a corruption in the card for the first few photos...so she actually DIDN'T have a family photo of us. In the end, she 'created' one by photoshopping my sister and brother in law in as well. Needless to say, they looked out of place and the photo looks 'fake'. What really saddens me was that she didn't even have the decency to be transparent about the situation from the start and tell us what happened before we discovered that she screwed up. Another thing was that I had asked her to take a picture of me with each of my four kids towards the end of the shoot, but she said she already did. Well....that wasn't true either. For the amount of time and money that I and my family had put in for this shoot with her, I had really hoped the experience had been more pleasant and worthwhile. Yes, I am the oddball review and probably will be chastise by some, but just wanted potential future clients to cover their bases if they decide to book. read more

Rae far exceeded my expectations and helped me make my proposal the most perfect moment. She began by suggesting a few locations and I ended up choosing a beautiful private beach near our hotel.
