Comfortable room, great staff. Limited menu but it's tasty! Come early as it gets busy.

When we got there, Robert greeted us and, when we asked about them, offered to give us a quick tour (we were the only ones there) for a donation to The Third Option Foundation (how could we say no, especially if it goes to an amazing cause?). To say he knew his stuff is an understatement; he made the complex process so easy to understand! The tasting was like a show in itself; between Brian and him, we really got to know their Bootlegger line of vodka, gins, and bourbons. While all of them tasted great, my personal highlights were the vodka and the bourbon cream. Theirs was the smoothest vodka I ever tried that I almost bought a bottle right then and there (waited until after the tasting, of course). The bourbon cream was like a dessert -- sweet, not too heavy, and, for someone who prefers vodka to bourbon, it made me appreciate bourbon more. Following suit with those who recommended it to me, I also recommend it if you're in/near Roscoe, especially if you want to support the local businesses.

Daytime Hollow is all light through the big windows, happy grown humans, beasts, kids sometimes. Daytime is for morning beverages and baked deliciousness and sandwiches I think later. I haven't tried the food after noon, Just the morning fare. And it's splendid. So many pretty people. I favor the darker Hollow, it's like the woods with owls about. And. Appropriately, I believe, I favor the Black Manhattan, for all the same reasons. Cozy, maybe a half dozen ish tables and as many bar seats. Maybe seven bar seats. My mind's eye is fuzzy. Enough to populate the forest but in a campfire kind of way. Those seeing to your food and drink are attentive, friendly, know many of the folks inside but not me. As I am furtive. The menu changes often and each and every dish I've sampled has been delicious. Price point is very reasonable for what's presented. It's a date night, an evening w friends, by yourself with a book (what's a book), all are welcome, all are comfortable. A speakeasy without a secret word, woods with friendly owls, off a dark but inviting street in what's an ever evolving Delhi downtown. Go.

Let me cut to the chase and say this was the most amazing food at the evening happy hour. Potatoes, fried and duck fat with a great seasoning, a mushroom dish, just the most flavorful and intense delicious bites ever. Several dishes just became a dinner of appetizers. Ambience was very pleasant. Great example of a Gastro pub dining. Friendly locals and a diverse crowd as well as servers. I loved it.

The atmosphere immediately invites you to stay awhile: relaxed, cozy, spotless, and effortlessly trendy without trying too hard. It's the kind of place that feels both comfortable and current. The menu offered an excellent variety, making it hard to choose, but we started with the goat cheese and mushroom flatbread appetizer paired with cocktails, and it was the perfect beginning to the evening. Flavorful, balanced, and beautifully prepared. For dinner, we sampled two outstanding entrées. The wild shrimp dish was incredibly fresh, served over a vibrant mix of garden-picked greens, avocado, watermelon radish, and a flavorful kicker dressing that tied everything together perfectly. The Faroe Island salmon was equally impressive -- perfectly cooked and topped with locally picked ramp-infused butter, served over asparagus and fingerling potatoes. Every bite tasted fresh, seasonal, and thoughtfully crafted. Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with warm hospitality, a welcoming vibe, and food that truly delivers. We will definitely back for dinner and stay for the live music as well.

When we arrived early for our Sunday evening reservation, the restaurant was mostly empty. Cassidy told that the other two-top tables were unavailable because of a large reservation later that evening, so we were seated next to the bathrooms, which wasn't our favorite. About 10 minutes later, another couple arrived, and we overheard them being offered one of those same tables as long as they finished within 1 hour and 45 minutes. That inconsistency made us wonder whether we were treated differently because of our race. Unfortunately, the rest of the evening didn't improve. The live musician insisted that people applaud her although the music wasn't enjoyable, the food was average at best, and when the check arrived, our server Cassidy explained that she had charged us for another party's meal. Resolving the billing error took additional time and confusion. Overall, the experience was disappointing from start to finish, and we won't be returning.

We were seated within 10 minutes which was very nice but the waitress/host seemed a bit annoyed. To be fair there were only 2 women serving the bar & restaurant and as someone in the service business, it's not easy BUT it's not an excuse just understandable. THE FOOD...it was good but I was disappointed in my Smoked Duck app which had three small thin slices of duck. The apricot vinaigrette was the star of the dish. The scalloped potatoes were good & were not soaked in cream & butter which I liked. Hubby had his go to drink, a Manhattan and it was ok. His entree was Pasta Carbonara, it was very good. All in all 3-stars maybe 4 because the ambiance was romantic or maybe that was us LOL.

Don't order the fish! I had the Baked Cod - it was really off-tasting (something you don't want in…read moreseafood!), overly fishy and unpleasant. My dining companions ordered the short rib, which was much tastier and tender. Perhaps this is one of the places that exceeds when it comes to "turf", but you should avoid the "surf." I also ordered an asparagus soup, which was too salty, but had the texture of a bean/split pea soup. They also served generous pours of wines and had friendly service, otherwise. Keep in mind this is a very pricey establishment. For a dining party of 3 people, our bill was nearly $200 for something very middle range -- it's not the glitzy-est of atmospheres for that high price. Instead, it was dark, dank and basement-like. I expected more affordable pub style food with that feel.
