My only complaint is that when you order a slice they do a cursory job of heating it up and it is still just warm. But to be fair, when asked to really heat it up they got it right and then it was a very nice slice! We order delivery from Ragazzi Pizza every once in awhile. We find their pizza refreshing and delightful. The crust is quite thin but at the same time not too crusty. The toppings feel fresh and tasty, while the pizza itself is not overly greasy. There is a time and place for Pizza Hut, but if you're in the mood for something different but familiar Ragazzi is a good choice. Because they are just the one restaurant, delivery times can vary depending how busy they are. We have had anywhere from 30-90 minutes. Never been an issue as we plan in advance. Pizza is delicious! I've tried their originale margherita and it was so yummy. I got the small size but was well worth it. I've also tried their pepperoni by the slice and that as well tasted yummmy. They'll warm it up for you and everything. In addition, they do have lasagna and I totally recommend it to anyone. It's delicious and would pair so well with a small pizza. Totally recommend. Hands down the best delivery Pizza in town or the whole of Canada. They are fast, friendly and most importantly the pizza is fresh and hot and super tasty. The Prosciutto and Fungi is our absolute favorite. We also love the Caprese salad. The Bocconcini they use is phenomenal. Gonna be honest, not impressed. I ordered a Large Ragazzi, delivered. It arrived cold. There are few toppings, widely spread over the pie. For $23.45, I was hoping for more. I took photos. If I can figure out how to add them, I will. Add to that, the driver arrived, knowing that I was paying by credit card (gotta get my points!) and he had no machine and wanted cash. Called and while the girl on the phone was polite and professional, all she could do was repeatedly apologize. Being a big fan of Neapolitan-style pizza, I was excited to see that these guys had opened within striking distance of my main work office, and today was the day I got to try them out. I'll give them at least one more chance, I suppose, just in case they were having a bad day, but today was not a good one. On the surface they're doing everything right: cozy but adequate seating, a nice ambiance, friendly staff, good prices, a choice of both by-the-slice and made-to-order pizzas. The one thing missing is the pizza itself. While it looked more or less like classic Neapolitan pizza, it didn't taste like it. That would be okay, because authenticity isn't the most important thing, but sadly it didn't taste all that great in general: - The thin crust was bland, dry, and crunchy. No nice chewiness inside, no nice pizza oven char on the bottom, no pleasant sea salt or olive oil notes. Just a flat, hard, white, crunchy, all-purpose flour + water kind of dough. I suspect perhaps they're cooking them for too long, and at too low a temperature? And with too little olive oil to keep things moist? I don't know for sure. But something is wrong here. - The tomato sauce seemed like straight-up passata strained tomatoes, and lacking in herbs and spices, which would be okay for a Neapolitan pizza focusing on the tomatoes, except it was also lacking in tomatoeyness. Again I don't know if it was a poor choice of ingredients or lack of seasoning. But like the crust, the right idea was there, but the execution fell short. - Finally, the toppings: On the margherita, the basil leaves were good, but there was no trace of fior di latte cheese. I think this may have been a quirk, because in other reviewers' photos you can clearly see it, but the ones they were serving today were topped with plain old grated part-skim mozzarella, and not much of it. Furthermore both slices had traces of some peccorino or similar sharp dry cheese melted on top that just didn't quite match, especially on the margherita. [Update: Someone helpfully pointed out that they make and sell two different Margherita pizzas: "Margherita" (which is not a Margherita) and "Margherita Originale" (way down at the bottom of the menu, which is actually a Margherita). Buyer beware when ordering. This would likely fix the problem with the cheese and possibly the sauce, but I doubt the quality of the basil or crust would be any different. Also, I see now that the Originale is $2-3 more because of the cost of the official ingredients, but I still really question the wisdom (or impact to the pizza chef's reputation of calling the cheaper pizza a "margherita" at all when it's just a plain old American cheese pizza that happens to have a couple of basil leaves on it. It would be the equivalent of selling "poutine" with brown gravy and grated cheddar for $10 and also "poutine original" for $12 with authentic poutine sauce and cheese curds -- you wouldn't feel like the first was merely a budget poutine; you'd probably say it should have been named "gravy cheddar fries" or simply not put on the menu to begin with, cheaper or no. Either way, I probably need to give them another shot to see if it was just an off day. I assume the real Margherita Originale is better. Let's hope so.] Anyway, I don't want to beat these guys up too badly. If you live or work nearby and want two large slices of pizza and a drink for $8, it'll do the trick. There's nothing patently bad about it and it's a good deal. Plus you can get in and out of there in 15 minutes if you're in a hurry, and that's worth something. But with the veritable explosion of traditional Italian style pizzerias in East Van and Burnaby lately, all of which I've tried so far without exception have served me better pizza, Ragazzi are going to have a tough time competing if today's food is typical of their gameplay. It's too bad. I wanted to like them, and as I said, I'll certainly give them another shot at least once when I'm nearby. Hopefully the problem today was merely that their head chef was out sick and their supplier was out of fresh mozzarella. Time will tell. read more

One of my favourite pizza places. It's a little more expensive than other places but well worth the price. Not my everyday place but I will get it on occasion to treat myself. It has a nice chewy thin crust, tasty sauce and the toppings are of a much higher quality compared to other places. My only complaint is that it often takes longer than they tell me it will. If they say 20 minutes, I usually arrive 25 minutes later. But I still end up waiting. Other than that, no complaints. read more

I was ordering a tacchino sandwich. But the lady on the phone thought I was ordering the pizza when I arrived to pick up my order she tells me it's going to be 18.99. I was confused because I was looking on a yelp review picture of the menu it said 6.97 for the sandwich I wanted. I told the lady I wanted a tacchino sandwich. She then gives me this attitude of you said you wanted a large over the phone. I don't know the menu well nor was I looking around on the menu. I told her no I want the sandwich I only had 5 mins to get to work and the sandwich was going to take longer. I just ended up taking the pizza and paying. I wasn't happy about the way she responded to me. Saying "well we have two tacchino on the menu" I was not happy with the customer service. The 2 of us snacked on 4 slices and shared a pop for $10 last night after the amazing Renfrew Ravine Moon Festival event! Now that I have two toddlers, I don't have the opportunity to get out much nor do I have the time or patience to put up with crappy slow service in order to enjoy a decent pie like places such as Marcellos. Instead, I've discovered the better alternative-Ragazzi has the best pizza in town & it's exactly like Marcellos style - thin chewy crust with just the right amount of toppings. In my view, the key to a great pie is not just in the crust, but the way the veggie toppings are sliced -- the thin slices of veggies like mushrooms, onions really balances everything out.
