It would be easy to miss this unassuming restaurant when walking down the coastline inundated with storefronts made for the tourist eye. Thankfully, having walked past it about a dozen times to and from the hotel, I finally gave it a go. And I didn't even have to look it up on Yelp first. The white linen tablecloths that cover the 20 or so tables were nearly packed when first entering. The main server was well-versed in Inglés, Français, and of course Español (from what I (over)heard.) Along with their interior change, their offerings has changed from 2014 to a more streamlined menu. With chef recommended specials written along the walls. Which by the way are quite impressive with it's chalk art as well. Towards the end of the evening, an unexpected digestivo was given: a complimentary shot of homemade limoncello. Mmm, what a way to end an amazing dinner that was eaten to completion. Having given this restaurant very little expectations when I sat down in a rattan chair, I was thoroughly impressed by the time I left the restaurant with only two parties left. I smiled at them and them at me, waved and thanked the staff in my best Spanish. It was a good night. And not to crap on this review, but this night was made even better by the cookie/caramel parfait at McDonald's a few doors down. Dare I say, the best dessert ever bought for about €3. Sorry, I wasn't going to bring it up but I wasn't offered dessert at the restaurant and my sweet tooth needed to be fixed. Why someone who book an Italian restaurant in a Spanish town is beyond me :-) the place was nice and the service was great but the food was ok. We had platters of food arrive and so I cannot comment on the menu. We had quite a few dishes but every single dish had cheese in it. I could not eat another course with cheese in it. We started off with a Burratta which is a super fresh cheese and that was really nice. Then came the cheese wrapped in pancetta, buffalo mozzarella with Parma ham, two pasta course with cheese sauce and then tiramisu. The pasta dishes were very nice but I have never had spaghetti vongole with a cheese and pesto sauce and it was ordinary :-) Service was good and the value for money was a bit low here for me. Malaga has some amazing restaurants and they are also very reasonable but this one wasn't. I may come back here again if I run out of options in town :-)

Upon entry, I was taken to my table right away and greeted individually by each of the staff I passed by. They guided me to a nice spot and even brought me a small lowered table to put my purse on, without my having to ask. The menu was already translated and my waiter spoke perfect English, which made ordering a breeze. The service was excellent. They were on top of everything from the second I walked in. I asked the waiter what he recommended and was told that everything was good so it really depended on what I felt like ordering. I went with the fettuccine bolognese which turned out to be a good choice. Again, the intuitive waiter brought parmesan without my having to ask. The only thing I had to ask for was red pepper flakes, which he brought right away. At this point he offered me chili oil and fresh chili peppers too. The pasta was fresh and the bolognese sauce was amazing! I enjoyed every bite. I'm looking forward to trying more on the menu here but for now, here's my review. I can definitely recommend Serafina to you without hesitation whatsoever. Buon appetito!
