Absolutely amazing sushi! Felt a little intimidating when you first walk in. We did not have reservations, but they were able to seat us right at the sushi bar (where we wanted to sit anyways). Our waitress was informative, polite, and down to earth! The sushi chefs were super nice. The one taught us how they cut the cucumber (Japanese technique as well as American / or easy way lol!) Had miso soup as well. I will be back! So happy to have a variety of superb and high end sushi in Boise. I highly recommend.... Don't be intimated. It may look "fancy" but they are super down to earth employees, with a fancy menu. They explain it thoroughly though!

Wow! Raibu blew our socks off. Exceeded our very high expectations after hearing from friends and family how good it was. We finally got the chance to get out for a date night and we will certainly the back. The food was too notch. Every piece of fish melted in your mouth. The service was incredible. Server was friendly but Manny was the winner of the show. What a nice guy and extremely informative about their menu. Between him and the quality of the food, we will be back sooner than expected. You will NOT find better sushi in Boise than Raibu. The price is well worth it here. Can't wait for our next meal here.

Gyoza was amazing and the dipping sauce had so much flavor! A must try!

We finally tried Raibu Sushi, tucked away in the Boise Co-op shopping center, and wow... this place absolutely blew us away. Hands down, the best sushi we've ever had, and we cannot wait to go back. This is an upscale sushi experience without feeling stuffy. The service was superior, and the food came out shockingly fast, in the best way. We started with miso soup that had a generous amount of seaweed and tofu, then ordered the gyoza (you get six). They were cooked perfectly, and the dipping sauce was incredible with just the right amount of spice. We almost ordered another round but somehow resisted. Next came the otoro nigiri (fatty tuna) and salmon sashimi, both completely melt-in-your-mouth amazing. Then we tried the Raibu Roll, topped with torched, smoky-flavored wagyu, sturgeon caviar from Hagerman, Idaho, and gold dust. It was stunning to look at and even better to eat, truly unforgettable. The Boise Roll was our other choice, with lobster and spicy tuna. It's lightly fried, not heavily deep-fried like many places, so it adds a bit of crunch without overpowering the fish. You can really taste the quality here. The wasabi is freshly grated, not the tube stuff, and the ginger tasted house-pickled instead of the typical pink version. They were busy on a Monday night around 7 pm, but we had reservations and were seated right away. The restaurant itself is small, intimate, and dimly lit, making it a perfect date night spot. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you're getting. Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. We can't wait to return.

Finally! A high end sushi restaurant and Japanese steakhouse. This is not your typical Idaho California roll; this is fresh sashimi, wagyu, and flavorful rolls. Our servers were very nice and food came out pretty fast! The menu is the perfect size, not doing too much. Would recommend for a celebratory evening!

I was so excited to try this place that we made reservations for a Sunday dinner. We were greeted promptly and give a small table in the corner. The high top table was unleavened like you'd expectation a fast food restaurant. The pork belly appetizer was nicely done. My sake nigiri was good but the tuna belly was not fresh and had a grainy texture and both orders of nigiri were room temperature. My husband ordered a California roll that had a strong fishy taste that was odd. For the price point and hype I excepted better. Our server seemed overwhelmed and didn't check in for drinks or to see how our meal was. We finally went to the hostess to pay. Hopefully they will live up to their marketed expectations.

Raibu has provided Boise an evolving and modern food scene that provides diverse eats and refreshing cuisine. I went here over a month ago and genuinely loved the service, environment and intimate space. It can get loud with how small the space is, however still a great setting for various types of reservations. Food was delicious although the yakitori could be more grilled. Oysters were a hit as the garnishes weren't overwhelming the natural taste of the oyster itself. They portioned it just right. Although the food was great quality, the price has led me to make this an occasional place to eat. This is just a personal preference and should not stop anyone from going to experience this place!:) What stood out was that they are the first place to do Omakase in our city from what I know growing up here which is so exciting. For that experience alone, it would be a wonderful place to experience and try out. In the end, again personally, I would be just as content to go somewhere more cost-affordable with just as amazing quality like Fujiyama in Meridian or the authenticity of Wasabi.

The Omakase experience is so fun. The different varieties of fish were amazing and I looked forward to each bite. I did go another time just for basic sushi rolls after my Omakase experience and I would say the sushi rolls could use some work as they aren't the best that I've had, but they are still very solid and this is a great sushi spot and addition to Boise.

Menu font is way too small.

My husband and I dined at Raibu Sushi last night and loved the food! This is our first sushi experience since moving to ID from NorCal a year ago and it is on point with great sushi restaurants we've eaten at previously. We had Edamame, hamachi, octopus, Boise roll and Stanley roll, plus a bottle of Chardonnay! Our favorite was the Boise roll. All the fish is very fresh with no odor. The restaurant decor is modern and very well done and incorporates multiple elements including wood, fabric, glass and what appeared to be cement or stucco behind the sushi bar. The vibe was upbeat and fun. All the waitresses we encountered were super helpful and friendly. Restrooms were clean but there was no signage on the doors (there were two) which was a little confusing. Our comments or suggestions for improvement are 1. Check the soy sauce pitchers on the tables before seating a new party- ours was empty. 2. Bring or offer to bring ginger and wasabi if parties are ordering sushi; we had to ask for it. 3. A drop of wasabi the size of a garbanzo bean is not enough! Increase the size of the wasabi portion. 4. THE MENU PRINT! I'm attaching photos but we literally couldn't read it. Font size was 8 or smaller and in low light it was extremely hard to read even with our mobile phone light. We asked the waitress if there were reading glasses available and she said not yet but the owners had ordered some! We suspect you were trying to keep the menu to one page but take the plunge and make the font bigger and make it 2-3 pages! 5. Octopus dish- lightly seared but we felt it should've been cooked more? Maybe this was a different type of octopus than we've eaten before. 6.wine selection - great start but can you offer a few more Chardonnay selections? There was one by the glass and a second selection by the bottle. Note: menu price on the bottle was $145.00 and when our bill came we noted it was charged at $155,00, so we asked our waitress to adjust this, which she did. 7. Sushi rolls: can you offer more selections with seared tuna? It's such a great fish for rolls and we would love more choices that contain tuna. 8. The 3% charge to use a credit card for the bill - we understand you pay a fee to process credit cards, but it would be good to post this info on your website so customers can bring cash if they don't want to pay the fee. We would've paid in cash if we had known. We thoroughly enjoyed our Raibu experience and will be back. Our waitress was wonderful and we appreciate the great food and great service!

A mixed plate of nigiri (akami, chutoro, otoro, shiro maguro, hamachi belly, and beni toro).

This is the best sushi my wife and I have had in 3 years since moving from Hawaii. The sushi is very authentic and fresh. The atmosphere is very mellow and intimate without felling crowded or small. The sushi chefs prepared us the best sushi we have had in the Treasure Valley and we hunt for good sushi places.

Best oysters in all of Idaho! I had given up on Oysters in Idaho until now. The sushi menu is curated to bring flavor. Each roll had a unique flavor. We loved them all! I recommend the Gaijin and Stanley roll if you like a lot of flavor. Great design in a quaint little venue.

We got a couple of rolls along with Nigiri and both of them were delicious. The waiter was very attentive. That dining experience wasn't the best. Our server was rude. Our chef cross contaminated his cooking utensils with cooked veggies and raw chicken. We had to look for our server for sake bombs. These were just a couple of the few issues with my first initial visit. As horrible our first visit was, I made sure I came in today with an open mind. Our reservation time was for 5:15. They had our table set up and us at the table by 5:10. We did come early so it wasn't really busy at the time. We sat, got ourselves adjusted and our server was ready to grab our drinks. Our server did take a minute to get our drinks to us. We did have a couple different lemonades which could be time consuming and a hot water pot. After drinks were dispersed, or server asked if we wanted to do at starters. We asked her just to take all of our orders at the same time. Some of us wanted sushi for dinner as well as Hibachi. Soups and salads were dropped off while everything was getting prepped. The soup looked really hot but it actually was at a good temp. The soup was on the saltier side but still good. The salad was ok. The salad dressing didn't really hit for me. It wasn't sweet nor savory. This part of the review will be hard for me since my dad was our chef tonight. He's the most amazing chef on the planet so my opinion will always be bias for my dad. But I'll be honest! We started off with the fried rice. The rice was cooked nicely! It wasn't dry and had great bits of onion, egg and carrots. It could have used a little more soy sauce. My husband opted for the side of yakisoba noodles. They were chewy in texture and slightly charred! So good but it was on the saltier side. My meal was shrimp and salmon. The shrimp was tasty! They were good sized prawns and cooked perfectly. I appreciate that the salmon was grilled perfectly! I love when the salmon is crusty from the grill. I like the crispness on the outside and softness on the inside. My chef did a great job! Our server did an ok job. She checked up on us once while the chef was cooking. She filled up our drinks but miss my daughter's drink so we had to fill it ourselves since she left carafes of our lemonades on the fireplace. I had to fill up my drink as well since she was gone for a while. Boxes were passed out when we were done. She gave us 1 bag and didn't ask if anyone else needed their boxes bagged up. I did see bags on a side table so I grabbed a couple. Bagged up my sister's 4 boxes and my mom's 2 boxes. I would leave this at a 3.5 stars but since my chef did such a good job it's a 4. The silverware could be polished. Nothing like eating your meal with a fork with a ton of water spots on it and looks dirty. Soup could have been hotter since it's cold outside. Overall, it was a good meal with decent service.

It's rather difficult, if not almost impossible, to find delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine in the Treasure Valley. This small food cart is an Idaho gem. I've tried several of their food items, however this review will focus on their namesake dish, takoyaki (octopus ball). For those who don't know, takoyaki is a popular Japanese street food with bits of chopped octopus and dough inside a slightly crispy shell garnished with takoyaki sauce. I was very happy with how similar the snack tastes to the ones I've had in Japan. Genki serves these in 6 pieces ($6) and there are several sauces available. I like to top mine with sriracha to add a kick. It's a wonderful mid evening snack! My only complaint is on a couple visits I found my takoyaki to be rather old tasting, like either the oil hadn't been changed in a while or the octopus was overdue. It's happened less times than more so I'll still continue to eat this unless it becomes more frequent. Genki use to be very active on the Street Food Finder app but this summer they seem to limit their postings to Facebook and Instagram, so if you want to find them you'll have to go either of those routes.
