Needed some cash for opera tickets and was scandalized by the rip-off exchange this bank offered - worse than any Change office in tourist squares. I thought Raiffeisenbank to be a decent bank, not an unscrupulous fleecer. read more
I'm sorry but I can't believe a bank has a five-star review and only from one person. Must be some tool.

My recommendation would be to stay away from this bank. The Customer Experience & Complaints Management representative basically made fun of me when I tried to explain that it is literally unacceptable to treat a client in such a way. Worst banking experience I've ever had. I don't know if I'll ever be able to access my account again.
Good place to get money from for the exchange rate.read more

In all fairness, I am not talking about me wanting them to go extra mile I am talking that now days you shouldn't be waiting for weeks for your bank to provide you with service that you are paying for. Maybe I am crazy, but if you are non CZ you will not be treated as you deserve.

But Fio did their best to help in English, and reminded me that their website and online banking is all translated in English as well. Only the messages sent to online inbox are in czech, but writing in easy translatable form, when using google translate, i understand everything. The online banking is fantastic. This is the only one bank I have used so far here in Czechia, and I was amazed by the functionalities and friendlyness of usage and security. Also rates are very reasonable, compared to what I hear from other people. They have almost anything you might wish for banking as indivudual as well as a professional or business. Trading also can be activated and many other useful services that I discovered for the first easily implemented on a self service online banking. People who operate it would differ for sure, from place to place. In my case, I can say, I was lucky to enter a friendly office of a Fio Banka. They seem very transparent as well, regarding rate, change in policies, they will announce months before, and many positives... This bank is my best banking experience so far.

We filled almost all the documents and got everything almost done. But at the very last step they denied me the credit card citing that they can't issue a card to me because of my visa status. Only permanent residents can get a credit card with them. Would be really helpful to know that ahead of time. Instead a lot of time wasted.

Went through the whole process with my girlfriend translating everything for me (no English spoken in branch - that's fine of course, but just so you know). They took my UK passport and UK driving licence and the head office who received a scan of both documents called the branch to say that they thought my DL was a fake! Even with the girl in branch (who was holding it) confirming it had holograms etc, they just wouldn't accept it and told me to come back the next day to sign the contract. When we returned we were told the account was not being opened as they didn't accept it was a real document. I'm sure the bank is fine if you are Czech and have Czech ID but as an expat it's a no-go!
