We rolled into Rainbow Donuts looking for a little snack and left questioning why we didn't show up earlier today (more choices in the morning). Our 3rd time here. The selection was slim (hey, it was late!), but what they lacked in variety they made up for in donut real estate!! These things were the size of your regrets after skipping breakfast!! My daughter went rogue w a raspberry twist, and I dove into a maple glazed masterpiece. Sweet, glorious donut bliss!! These donuts were still fresh & delish!! Would we go back? We always do!! Stopped by here on Friday morning as I was craving donuts and also heard that the owner is going to retire soon. Got one blueberry glazed cake donut and a tiger tail. The donuts are huge and most importantly it's fresh. I like the blueberry glazed cake donut more than the tiger tail. The blueberry glazed cake donut was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside .. it had the perfect crunch to it. The tiger tail was soft as well and there were also some crunchy bits in the chocolate parts.. not sure what it is but I feel like the other ones I've had didn't have the crunch bits in it so maybe this one is a special variety. Inside there are a few tables where you can sit and enjoy your food. This place also serves coffee and drinks and Sing is very nice and polite. This is the second time I've been back to Rainbow Donuts after the change of ownership. Since the change I noticed the donuts are not the same as before. The donuts used to be fresh but now they are not. I would expect donuts to be fresh in the morning but the donuts I ordered were old. I ordered an Apple Fritter and there was hardly any apple on them. In total I ordered 7 large donuts and I used to get them in a box. Now the donuts were placed in sleeves and I had to request a bag to carry them. I will definitely not be back. This place is no longer what it used to be. Wow best blue berry donut I've ever had! This place exceeded my expectations. You can see the fluffiness and gluten development in the coconut donut. Plus I was given an extra glaze donut for free. Super great service. It's open 24/7 and I would definitely come here again. You can tell there's a good following because there's a lot of pictures of happy customers all over the restaurant. I think Rainbow Donuts deserves a 5 star rating, I'm disappointed to see that they are not receiving the full praise they deserve. They have been here for years and are still standing strong. Each time I've been here it was the same lady helping me and she is always very sweet and helpful. Yesterday I ordered a donut for my boyfriend and if you don't know, their donuts are huge!! You definitely get what you are paying for and from the times I have gotten their donuts, they were extremely delicious. I also really like their ham and cheese crossiants & recommend their apple fritter, my dad's favorite. I ordered a coffee because the lady asked if I wanted a drink and I wanted to support them even more, so I caved in and got a Vanilla Iced Coffee. I don't handle whole milk too well & I'm not sure if they have other milk options, but if they don't that would be helpful to add. Inside it is nothing too crazy, but it is definitely a spot where you can grab something on the go which is helpful! Rainbow donuts has been a West Covina staple for over 20 years! My mom used to bring me here when I was a kid when we first moved to the area. I'm 35 now and continue to visit Rainbow donuts for their Chocolate chip rolls. I'm also a huge fan of their ham, cheese and jalapeño croissants. They are the best! The service here is always great! Sing is always so nice. She treat everyone like a friend, and neighbor. The donuts are huge, cakey and full of chewy goodness. You get your money's worth here. Whenever they've added something new, she always let's us know and encourages us to try it. On some occasions has even slipped an extra donut for us when she really wants us to taste it. She is really so kind and generous. Their latest addition is the cronut, and my goodness it was heavenly. I truly believe their donuts are 2nd to none. They still had a nice selection of donuts that evening I visited. Don't know if they bake throughout the day or not. Was kind of worried that the donuts would be stale. No need to worry because the donut I ate tasted fresh and delicious. I bought myself one of those large bear claws with apple filling. Unfortunately, my "go to" donut was already sold out. I usually tend to purchase a Boston Crème donut whenever I patronize a donut shop for the very first time. I ate my apple bear claw at one of their available tables. As I sat enjoying my yummy treat a couple of other groups of folks came in. They all seemed to be regulars, and the young lady assisting them treated them great also. Found this place on Yelp. It's kooky that it's next door to Dunkin. The gentleman at the counter was nothing but cordial, and made my iced coffee fresh. It was served in a large styrofoam cup for $4.50. It is made from hot coffee, which was a new experience for me as I'm used to the product being already chilled. Anyway, it was perfect. He mixed it to his specifications-- the way he thought it should be-- and his method was definitely the right way. Inside, there are many things on the wall, including bible scripture. I just returned from buying 4 donuts at Rainbow Donuts, having gone to this location for the past perhaps 25 years, as they are open 24/7. I have almost always requested a box to put the donuts in as when placed in a bag, the donuts smash together and the toppings and coverings get all over each other. This evening about 9:40 PM my wife and I stopped in and bought 4 donuts, and was quoted a price of $8.00, we asked that the donuts be placed in a box as to not squish them all together, and the male server without informing us, charged us an extra $2.00 and then added another 35 cents which is $2.35 extra just for the box without informing us, as he punched it in and I always look at the receipt and noticed what he did and questioned him about the charges. The donut that I took a bite out of, was dry and probably sat out all day. Lucky me! This has never occurred previously with any of this businesses workers, including the last lady who was delightful and went to work for a veterinarian. We will no longer patronize this business. Either buy in quantity (a minimum of 6 to get a box) or pay an absurd amount for not having your donuts smashed together. As far as obtaining a fresh donut, first go look for a 4 leaf clover. Pay for fresh and get stale. The choice is yours. read more

They made the cherry tiger tail with maraschino cherries when before it was dark cherries. The cashier also "didn't hear" part of our order.
