I really loved the decor inside, everything seemed authentic and looked very well put together. We did have a large round table which really didn't give much room around us but we appreciated the fact they accommodated our large group as best as they could. My dad and I ordered the pork spring rolls to begin, they were so good! Don't know what was so good and different about them but I could've eaten lots more. We all ordered our own mains with the intention of sharing between us all. I don't remember the exact name of my dish but it was #37 which was a lamb stir fry. I didn't even want to share it was that good, cooked and seasoned to perfection. I tried a few different curries that were at the table and can't say one bad thing about any of them. Our servers were quick and polite, although not fluent in English. We brought a cake for my grandma which she didn't know about, the waitress was nice enough to keep it in the kitchen for us and brought it out with the candle lit when we asked. Overall I enjoyed this experience as a first-timer, however, the plates that were brought out with our cake were not very clean. This really upset my dad, there was rice on 97% of the dessert plates. I didn't consider it a huge deal but it was a bit odd. They do charge $6 for corkage! BYO wine only. I am looking forward to the next time I get to go here!

I've been to this restaurant about 3 times now, all for birthdays or special events with my…read moregirlfriends. We've always had to book and the centre where the actual restaurant is gets super busy at night, so it's tough to get a park. So book early... because if you don't book you just might be staring through the window or waiting a very long time. The prices here are on the expensive side with although if you have 4 or more people it's $30 for a banquet and they are very reasonable. Let's get this straight. You go to a Thai restaurant and you order the Pad Thai. The one here is magnificent. The ingredients finely chopped, good amounts of noodle and filling and the sauce compliments everything addictively, so you just want to eat more. It's probably a good thing that this dish always fills you up if you have it by itself and for $18.90 you'd really want it to. Also try the Pad Num Mun Hoi with beef (bamboo shoots, mushrooms and shallots) because it's delicately seasoned and very yummy with some coconut rice. This restaurant is pretty, it's got Thai ornaments all over the joint and the staff wear traditionaly Thai outfits to serve. It's a great taste to go on a first or second or third date.

The roasted pork laksa came in a huge bowl! It was very delicious! The noodles were just right; not soggy, and not too hard. The flavour of the laksa tasted authentic! It was just the right spice. I wasn't a big fan of the roasted pork. It was very chewy and hard to eat. The mango frappe is a mango smoothie and it was pretty good; however, I don't think it was worth the $6AUD.

They don't really feel all that spacious though, because this place was packed! I took this to be a good sign. The wait staff were snappy and efficient. No messing around. Our meals came out in good time, in huge servings- bowls bigger than your head style. My friends who are frequent travellers to all parts of Asia squealed with delight saying the roti canai (($9.20) "tasted just like Borneo." My kung po chilli chicken ($11.50) was the perfect heat. My friend who ate the prawn noodle soup ($13.50) gave audible sighs of pleasure interspersed with "this is sooooo good" while consuming it. For drinks, I'd recommend the taro milk tea ($3.30). It's light, sweet, milky and compliments most meals fantastically. It's true, they don't have credit card/eftpos facilities, however, there's an ATM in the general area, so there's no troubles. Also, for your information, the bottl-o is just across the road.

This place is busy all the time including late into the night so that's always a good sign. We came on a Saturday evening around 7pm and we didn't have to wait too long for a table. We each ordered different types of dishes: two soups dishes and two noodle based dishes. I had the Malaysian Laksa that comes with Hokkien and Vermicelli Noodles, Fish Cakes, Prawns, Calamari, Bean Sprouts, and Eggplant in a Curry Soup. It was SO delicious and filling that I couldn't finish my bowl of soup. It is spicy which I really like as well but you can ask for more spicy if you'd like. Everyone was pleased with their meal and an awesome fact about Malaya Corner is that if you don't finish your meal, you can have a to go box! I was so excited about this fact and will definitely be coming back again. The selection is enormous including vegetarian dishes. There is also complimentary self-serve tea and water at the counter for you.

We had noticed Malaya Corner on previous visits, and the crowds the place drew coupled with the amazing aromas drifting out the door were enough to convince us to give it a try. This place is a lot bigger than some of the other restaurants in Sunnybank, although they have still packed the tables in a little close. Throughout the evening I often wondered what the guys sitting approximately 30cm away, at the table to my left, thought of the intense deconstructing of our lives that took place. Pretty much everything on their menu appealed to me; I was continually flipping the two sided page over trying to decide what to have. There were a lot of dishes I'd never heard of, but which sounded delicious; I almost ordered one of those but decided to go for a safe option and be more adventurous next time. Our food arrived promptly and was very tasty. The quality of food and the atmosphere weren't really anything unusual compared to the other restaurants I've been to in this area, but the service was. All the wait staff were very attentive, polite and clearly intent on doing a good job as they zoomed through the maze of tables. They have a no split bills policy (always a little annoying), so keep that in mind.
