As far as fast food places go, this Raising Canes location is pretty good. We were passing through on a roadtrip and decided to dine in instead of just doing a drive through. The interior is very modern and clean. It seems to have possibly been recently renovated. I loved that there were disco balls - why disco balls ? Who knows ? But they definitely made me happy. Also - there is a changing table in the women's restroom. The food was all fresh and delicious. Canes usually is but it tasted particularly good (maybe bc of the disco ball powers). The ketchup pump was the only issue. It barely worked and everyone was trying to use it. There's not too much parking relative to the size of the inside but we got a spot. As a night owl, I appreciate that Canes is open really late. The staff is so nice and they always have great energy, even close to closing time. Who doesn't like Canes? I normally really like this location of Cane's and can expect the same taste and quality from them som that I why I rate them highly on this post. Their portion sizes do vary from being "way too small it's upsetting", to "this is exactly what I paid for". I was debating on writing this review or not, but the last time I went the chicken tasted very off. It tasted and smelled like cigarettes and the group of people behind me thought the same too. I asked an employee if someone of the staff smoked and they said yes. When I went to ask about it, their explanation was that they had a lot of orders and the oil just needed to be changed and what I tasted was burnt chicken. This is strange because it not look burnt at all. This really disgusted me as the chicken tasted like someone put cigarette ashes in the food, not to mention the smell lingered on my hands after eating those first couple of bites. Went to raisin Cain yesterday. The chicken is actually very subpar compared to other chicken spots. I ordered the sandwich which is obviously not conventional. But I did order extra tenders to ensure I wasn't being rash. The fries were not the best by far. If you've ever made store bought crinkle fries those are exactly how I felt about it. Best chicken strips in town. I've had the chicken strips from slims, chicken express, braums, and whataburger. None of them come close to canes. The strips are always crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Service is fast, and prices are reasonable. I eat here all the time. The only bad thing I can say about this place is the cole slaw isn't very good, so I substitute it for an extra toast. Don't let the bad reviews fool you. Literally waited in line for 1 hour and then when we got to the speaker they wouldn't say anything. We waited for another 15 minutes thinking they're just busy and that they'll say something soon. After the 15 minutes we drove up to the windows to see that there were NO EMPLOYEES IN THERE!! the store is supposed to close at 3:30am and it seemed like all the employees left around 1:30am. After reading the story about Raising Cane's founder working in refineries and as a Salmon fisherman in Alaska to earn enough money and in general, going against the odds to follow his dream of opening his own restaurant, I was even more anxious to try this place. The concept is about as basic as it gets and the menu is limited to a choice of chicken fingers or a chicken sandwich, but I like it. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and located in a perfect spot just across the street from Jones Stadium at Texas Tech University. As for the food, the chicken is juicy, perfectly breaded and has a great flavor. The chicken comes with a side of their own dipping sauce. I was at skeptical at first thinking why can't I have a choice of ranch, Dijon mustard or maybe some type of gravy, but Cane's special sauce is without doubt the ticket. You also get a side of crinkle cut fries which are a nice alternative that I don't see too often. Then the best part of all is the slice of toast. I am not sure what it is about the toast, but it is great. All in all I really like Raising Cane's and even more so knowing the story behind it's founding. I will definitely keep this place as an option on any future trip to the "Hub City." read more

I've never heard of this place before. I spent 3 nights in Lubbock and ate here twice. Both times were after 2am - it may not be as tasty when sober. The chicken is as juicy as Chick-Fil-A, but without the price. My go-to order is 6 individual fingers (buck each) and a container of their sauce (31c). It was curious to me that they charged for the sauce, but I soon realized that it was such a critical part of the experience that this was justified. It has a slightly peppery taste, and I was considering ordering several to fill an empty bottle with and take home to california with me. We've been here several times -- and their other location as well -- just because it is convenient and you always know what you're going to get. -- which is also my biggest complaint. When these people say they do 1 thing, they're not kidding. They make chicken fingers, slaw, fries, toast, and their "sauce" -- and drinks of course. And that's it.. You can get more or fewer chicken fingers -- but nothing else. And frankly, the chicken is pretty bland and tasteless. just a plain flour crust on un-brined chicken. They've got the frying process down so that the chicken is never over or under cooked and never dry -- but since it is your only choice, I'd say that's the minimum they could get right!. My biggest complaint is their sauce which they are so stingy with that they actually charge for it (!) and even that is bland and just a plastic cuplet of fat with paprika and a few spices. The first time I pulled through their drive through -- I kept driving because their menu was so brief -- and I really try to avoid the southern "fry everything" tradition when possible. You really can't get out of here with less than 70% of your calories coming from fat. --Which I guess is okay across from a university. But not for the rest of the world. read more

While I have gone here several times for lunch, it's the midnight and 1am Cane's tradition that I enjoy much more. Honestly, this place is quite terrible. Management is all over the place every time I go. Either someone is crying or they are understaffed. Which they are usually understaffed. Food is okay. Beverages are good. People at drive are usually really friendly. Would have at least three stars if not for this particular Cane's management. I highly recommend this place! On our move from Washington to Texas a few months back we stopped for the night in Lubbock. My husband saw on Yelp that Raising Cane's had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. I was blown away by how good everything was. Its unusual that a fast food type restaurant blows me away with its amazing food. The sauce is what really stands out to me. Their special sauce is AMAZING! Do not forget to dip your chicken strips in it. Its so good. The coleslaw served on the side was also very tasty as was the slice of texas toast and the sweet tea. Do check this place out.
