I always get the worst customer service here and last Wednesday at around 8PM topped the cake so to speak. I don't even know why I thought running in here for a few things after a long business trip would be easier and more peaceful than just going to Safeway. I was just tired and not thinking I guess. I needed lettuce for my bunny, Kambutcha, and decided to grab some hard ciders for me and Bud light for my husband. I get to the register where the cashier is already being rude to an elderly lady who questioned why milk was $9 a gallon. Honesty I was curious myself. The cashier pretty much shoved the receipt at the lady and turned to me. I saw the nice lady bagging asking if she can help the other lady find a different milk like the Raley's one that is on sale. Anyways back to me. She asks for my ID, I can't find it and tell her "sorry, my child keeps dumping my wallet out and I can't find it" she then says "well I can't sell it to you then!" in the rudest most condescending matter of fact way. I say "yeah I know, no problem" and she continues to be rude to me and act as if I did something wrong or was trying to scam her. Like sorry I forgot my ID and that ruined your night. Then after I pay and go to leave she cheerfully asks the young man behind me who was clearly younger than me "date of birth?!" Smiling and said it extra loud so I could hear. I don't know maybe she recognized me from a bad situation I don't remember? Maybe she hates women? Whatever it was, even if you're not an overall nice person try some professionalism while at work or stay home! Plenty of people need jobs these days why do we still have to deal with crappy customer service when you can get someone who wants to work? I know some of you are probably like oh she just mad she didn't get her way but I can guarantee this is not that, this is all about the gross way I was treated as a paying customer. This same situation happened to me at Safeway about a month ago and I gave that person/ store 4 stores bc she was very nice about it and even apologized even though it wasn't her fault I couldn't find my ID. So I order from the deli often and the individual tall, white male, with tattoos is always so rude, dismissive, and just doesn't seem happy to help or be at work. This may be your fault as a company maybe you're underpaying and overworking these individuals or maybe he's just not a very happy person. I love coming to this store. It's usually a pleasant experience compared to the Safeway next door. My only issue has been the disposition of the old short latino manager. He does not match that of his counterparts and should not be scheduled during busy hours if he's going to be combative. read more

As far as Raley's stores are concerned, this is a pretty nice one. It's clean, produce is not particularly diverse but it's generally fresh. The frozen foods section is really varied and abundant, and the selection in the rest of the store is pretty good. Meat section could use an upgrade: I don't always find what I need there. But other than that it's nice to have them in the neighborhood. read more

This is a lower cost smaller version of Whole Foods. Like other higher-end grocery stores, everything was well appointed, organized, and visually pleasing. They have a nice selection of meats at reasonable prices. I also noticed some very reasonably priced specials on meat that a Smart shopper could use to organize their meals around and save some money. I will definitely shop at Raleys again, as a better alternative to Safeway in the area and much cheaper than Whole Foods! AKA WHOLE PAYCHECK! read more

The store itself is beautiful inside. It's clean, organized and welcoming. I came in looking for flowers to use for a corsage and boutonniere. Their floral section was very inviting. They showcase their inventory quite well. They had some filler different from other locations. I found spray roses that were 2 tone and were unique. The only bunch of this type so I snagged them. The next day they were all limp. The leaves were brittle. I cut them, put them in water with the flower food so don't understand why they went limp. I was disappointed. I returned them explaining what happened and what they were being used for. The front end lady was less than personable. Gave me the option to find something else or money back. Ended up getting money back but I asked if their other store might have what I'm looking for and instead of providing me with phone numbers or any assistance with this I get the response "you could try give them a call." So much for helpful customer service. Asking too much. Frustrating read more

As I walked into store to grab a shopping cart I was welcomed with a strong second hand smoke taste in my mouth by an EMPLOYEE on his break!! In front of the store and I mean at the entrance door, there was no way of entering the store without breathing his smoke, it's sad because I'm pregnant! I called the store and let the employee know, a young girl answered and would not let me speak with a manager, she said it was complete fine for employees to smoke at the door, her explanation was that "he was on his break and deserved a smoke", I'm appalled that she would respond this way and not allow me to let a manager know. I go here frequently--usually after 7 PM. Going to Raley's is a nice, clean, calm, pleasurable experience. However, in evenings, they always play loud hard rock. I've never been to another grocery store where this is the case. I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud, but it just seems out of place. Almost every night I'm there, I hear other customers laughing or rolling their eyes or commenting negatively about this. I want to shop causally and relax, not listen to "Girls Girls Girls" playing loudly every time (it's obviously a loop or something, because it plays almost every time I'm there--usually the same songs). I certainly hope none of the people who work at our business do this. I love music--even loud rock sometimes--but not in my local grocery store when I'm trying to so my daily shopping, unwind, and go home. read more

Review for the deli... Specifically to the female working the deli ... with dyed colored hair, piercings, tattoos and a bandana in her hair. Your customer service skills are beyond poor. I was very shocked as Raleys generally has friendly people who work for this company but this individual was having such a bad day she decided it was okay to take it out on us. Very rude, no greeting, not even one smile, all responses were very short with us and it's safe to say we got TONS OF ATTITUDE from this person. Someone needs to teach this person how customer service impacts the stores success and can increase or decrease the customer base. One less reason to come here and pay higher prices. I will be avoiding this extremely rude person from this point on. Less money being spent in the deli if I see her again. read more

I had a great experience with the bakery department beanie took my order for a cake and she was very helpful, knowledgeable. Usually i order from local bakeries in the area but unfortunately they stopped doing it, so i figured i'd give raleys a try. I always go and buy their custom made sandwiches and i always love the service. They also provide student discounts. read more

I've been to the Rohnert Park location 4 times now trying to purchase the 8pc bucket of chicken (4thighs/4drumsticks) they advertised the beginning of this month. I'll NEVER step foot in this store ever again. Not only do they not have what they advertise, I waited and waited and waited at the counter to be helped only to see employees looking at me and continuing with their tasks and not even acknowledging my presence. I'm glad that your business is doing so well that helping customers isn't a priority anymore. I want to reiterate that the service I got, or lack thereof, was as bad the first time as it was on my 4th trip. I'll be doing my shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

Can never get service at the lottery section and they removed the customer service button. The food is overpriced and the service is slow everytime. I've been to this location a few times recently because it has a very convenient location. Unfortunately there are a couple issues. Staff isn't helpful at all. Their prepared sushi is the worst I've had. No grocery store sushi is amazing, but usually okay for a quick lunch. I've purchased theirs twice, both times the rice was so overcooked it was just gelatinous mush. I was hoping the first time was a fluke, it wasn't. Got tossed out both times. Finally, they have a cashier who is unbelievably rude and slow. The woman ahead of me at my last visit was having trouble using her debit card, and the cashier kept snapping directions at her, and rolling their eyes, then finally came around the counter to help. They acted like it was the hardest thing to have to do that and the poor woman was obviously very upset at the situation. In contrast, the Santa Rosa location is great with friendly, helpful staff! I'll go there even if the location is less convenient. read more

Most of the staff that's been here for a while is very helpful, courteous, kind and knowledgeable. Some of the new staff exhibits that seem attitude. Some of them do not. But more than anything, many of the people that come here are so self-centered, narcissistic, rude and really some of the last people that I want to be around or associated with and so we're starting to look at different grocery stores. I hope it's not a Sonoma County thing but based on the traffic attitudes of drivers in Sonoma County, it very well could be Sonoma County. there's a selfishness and lack of kindness that's very noticeable when I start crossing into Sonoma County in all my travels. I'd like to be wrong about that but for many many years I've noticed this. Too bad. We live in paradise. Real problem today, at least partially with Raley's and also the grocery delivery service ("Raley's E-Cart, which is operated by Apiym Logistics formerly Food Jets). A $165 grocery order of groceries which about half arrived on time but the other half was LEFT BEHIND AT RALEYS. A call to the store got a response that they were sorry and that the remaining groceries (22 items) would be delivered between 5:30 and 6 pm. Our dinner plans were now ruined. At 6:30 pm the same delivery driver arrived, clueless about the missing groceries. A flippant manager at the store had said on our second call to the store that the delivery folks only had one person doing deliveries all day (not my problem). The delivery driver told me that this was not true. We want a refund of our delivery charge. And we will not be using Raley's For delivered groceries again. read more

I love to shop here because I feel safe with my toddler by myself. And it's a very clean well laid out store. But the gothic cashier girls are so rude. Literally took a look at my full cart and told me to get into a different line. I was so shocked I just said "oh" as I awkwardly backed into a chip shelf trying to get out of her line. When I got to the other girls line she sighed loudly as I was interrupting her phone time and told me how awful her job and day was and how she needed a break. And that I needed to start bagging because she was too tired. Whew! A lot to unpack here. I've worked retail since I was 16 and have never acted like this toward a costumer. Girlie I didn't fill out the job app! That was all you! I'm usually a girls girl, but not when I'm being disrespected. Stop ranting to your costumers, it's tacky. read more

This store is literally on the opposite side of a major competitor Safeway, and the difference reminds me of East and West Germany. Safeway has slightly cheaper prices (emphasis on SLIGHTLY), but it is far more jammed, maybe slightly less quality (not sure), but most important is the clientele. One feels FAR more likely to get killed in the parking lot at Safeway compared to the generally older folks who visit Raley's. One nice little thing about Raley's is that at 9AM, they open up a hot bar that serves bacon, eggs and a couple other breakfast basics. This is similar to how Whole Foods kind of has a buffet. It's pretty good, and usually cost me between $4 and $6. Given that I don't have to: * Prepare the food * Tip a server * Cleanup my food * Do dishes This is a nice option. I wish they would do more options like this. read more

VERY RUDE RACIST CASHIER "Chelsie" I was in line and moved up because the customer in front looked like he was leaving, so I moved up, when the cashier "Chelsie" abruptly told me to wait my turn, as her friend just got COVID, and that i need to respect social distancing (she was NOT wearing a mask, so who needs to respect social distancing when she is an employee at Raleys! and especially if her friend "Just got COVID"). Nice selection of food items in store, although usually pricy, but many homeless seem to spend an inordinate amount of time there, charging their phones and occupying some of the tables and chairs by the windows, which are left dirty, and greasy. Also, the bathrooms are trashed and dirty, with occasional empty alcohol containers left on the floor, (discounted liquor is conveniently left on display by the bathrooms for anyone to grab and chug a lug. UPDATE!!! April 10, 2020. Service was outstanding as always. However! I was shocked to see very few employees wearing masks to protect theirselves AND their customers. When I asked why the lady helping me wasn't wearing a mask she complained that the masks provided by management were too hard to breathe through "they are the type that nurses wear". Really?! The N95 masks are the beat masks in market. Smh. When I needed help at self check out the employee came right next to me, shoulder to shoulder before I had a chance to move. Not practicing social distancing. My suspicions are that management is providing for employees and teaching them, but the employees aren't implementing the procedures. read more

He and I made eye contact several times but avoided to help me. I waited 10min and once he and I made eye contact again and he just looked at the other staff and avoided again to help me even after I saw him assist the pervious customer. I just walked out. I love Raley's. I just wish it were closer to home. Their layout is welcoming and not so cluttered as I find Safeway's can be. They have just the right balance of freshly cooked food and desserts with the regular groceries to be had. I also find their produce section to be well-stocked and fresh. In addition, their prices are reasonable, especially if one hunts for the sale items. What really I enjoy about this store, however, is the customer service. They always have enough cashiers open and enough people walking the floors to get an answer provided. In general, workers look happy and connect with each other. I don't hear horrid stories shared between them about the lack of breaks or the unfair hours they have to work that sometimes I hear in other grocery stores. There's just a good vibe here that makes shopping more than pleasant. Today, I picked up a tart for a girl's night in. Fresh berries and house made custard graced this delicious delicacy and met my friends' taste buds with joy. The person at the dessert counter wrapped it carefully to make sure it stayed in place before consumption. I was able to get in and out within 10 minutes during a busy time which just shows how efficient and effective this store and its workers are. read more

I love this allocation for a grocery store , Lots of parking,the selection is huge especially the organic produce and lots of local farmers items. Also, everything is well organized and often the prices are a little bit lower than Olivers and Whole Foods. my last trip the young man at checkout I had no idea what rhubarb was or how to spell it or how to eat it! quick 101 lesson given on this fruit . I would say be sure with your produce that you watch what they're ringing up, I had to also point out that some of the items i had were not organic just because I bought lower quantities and they're weighed by the pound ( I didn't want a 10 pound bag of cherries) they lose a star for that! They should have some kind of twist ties or something you can write on or to identify the difference, I know they have green bags if they are organic and clear if they are not however that doesn't seem to work for the checkers? bonus was they had a lot of staff when I was there on Friday after work they were all super busy running around and cleaning, everybody looked they were not chitchatting with each other but taking care of business. The store is super clean. I love the very back wall walk-in refrigerator's they have an epic selection of plant-based milk, I was able to pick up cashew almond and coconut milk unfortunately they were completely out of Oatley. I did score some local honey at a really good price and some fantastic produce as well as a few British items like Heinz baked beans that they just got back in stock and they were on sale for $2.95 a can. read more

My elder mom was in Raleys Rohnert Park last Thursday 5/25. She requested $100 cash back with her credit purchase. She is adamant the checker did not give her the money. She reported it to multiple store employees. My mom was advised someone would review the tapes and get back to her next week. We are discussing "Theft" and "Elder Abuse". If Raleys had taken my mom seriously, I would expect the Store Manager to investigate this immediately. There is zero reason it should have to take an entire week to review a tape. I am encouraging my mom to file a police report at this point as the Raleys staff to date have not demonstrated the urgency this needed. unacceptable Raleys.. especially considering a large portion of your clientelle included elders like my mom. read more

So for the first time in a year my wife who has underlining heath issues accompanied me to the grocery store. My previous experience were good. Today destroyed that relationship. A worker was coughing all over weezing and out of breath but still aproching people to ask 9f they needed help .... and i swear to god he actually said "oh my God whats happening to me" he approached my wife to ask her if she needed help i grabbed her went to the front when i told the assistant manager what had happened. Where I was told I was then told he has special needs and asthma. He is not sick. I said i dont care that freeked me out. Im sorry of thats intensive but i work im tested regularly i have alergies that cause me to sneeze or cough so i take extra meds to make sure i dont have an attack at work. If he has asthma maybe he should go i the back or take time off.freeking out me and my wife and seceral other shoppers is Not Cool. I will not return to thos store ever again after 8 years of buying groceries theres always food max or maybe i will just get it delivered that way im not impulse buying things we dont need.
