Last week I made the mistake of not checking and trusting the expiration date on yogurt in the dairy section. You may recall that this occurred a year. or so back, and Raley's did a good job of responding and fixing the problem. Fast forward to last week when I purchased Siggy's yogurt and found it was already expired by two days. My fault I should have checked. Today I went back to get some of my favorite yogurt (Siggy's) only to find the same expired yogurt was still there now REALLY expired. And lots of it! (Apparently not a good seller) I don't get it. You would think there was a regular program in place for this to keep customers from buying stuff that could make them sick or at the least would be as fresh as possible. Apparently someone is asleep at the wheel. Buyer beware. And, yes, I did bring it to a managers attention. read more

Checker and bagger completely checked out and indifferent to customers going through line. Manager standing just feet away could care less. Providing even the smallest amount of pleasantness to customers appears to be impossible for this Raley's location. read more

My family and I always go to this Raley's. We love the free fruit for kids basket and the customer service. Yesterday was a perfect example of their excellent customer service. My toddler was melting down and screaming his head off (pre-nap time meltdown) and one of their employees found us and said she'd heard someone was having a tough time. She gave him a balloon with some candy tied to it. It made his day and mine. I unfortunately didn't get her name but I'm SO thankful for her kind gesture! It got us through our shopping trip and home for nap time. read more

I actually like Raley's but my experience has led me to leave them the dreaded one star review. I like Raley's even though I think they are a little overpriced. They are honestly not much different than a Safeway but they are more expensive. They happen to carry a dairy product I like so I went there to buy this and a few other items regularly. Well one time we went and bought three gallons of it and got home and they were all past the date and spoiled. I returned them and exchanged them and let them know. Then my wife went back and I guess I failed to relate the previous story since she also bought a couple of these gallons a few months later and they were also expired. I called the store and talked to someone that said he was the 'manager' though I am not sure which one. He seemed disinterested and had a 'what do you want me to do?" nasty attitude. At this point I was fed up and I wrote to corporate. We returned them and got new ones. A new manager called me and apologized and said he used to be the dairy manager for years and he was very nice and said to stop by sometime and they would give us free stuff. I wasn't looking for a handout but rather for them to not sell expired crap and waste my time. I have been there a couple times since then and low and behold they had expired product AGAIN!!! This is three times in less than six months. Now I go to WIndsor just to avoid this hole of a store. Fire your dairy manager because s/he isn't doing his/her job. read more

Just a regular grocery store, has everything that every other grocery store on the planet has. Reason for the lower star rating is I was in the bakery for about 8-10 minutes with nobody asking if I needed anything. Raleys is a perfectly adequate grocery store. There are no good deals, but no horrible prices either. The layout is confusing and frustrating. I always feel lost. The staff is friendly. Raley's also has an offensive policy of covering up women's bodies in magazines. They find women's bodies so offensive, when the cover of a magazine shows a stomach, they put a black piece of plastic over it. read more

Deli has Worst customer service. Went into deli early in the morning to place an order for the evening. Went in to pick up at ordered time and fried chicken not cooked as their fryer was not working. Would have been nice to receive a call that they were unable to fulfill my order. read more

This is a nice, standard grocery store. They have an excellent selection of gluten-free products for a standard grocer, and their meat department is great - have yet to purchase a product that was less-than-fresh, and the majority are quite good. The butchers there are extremely knowledgeable, especially the fellow who is part-time. He seems to know the meat industry inside and out. Their pricing on most items is not the best I've seen, but for many items it's similar to or less expensive than other nearby grocers like Safeway. It's also usually fresher. A reasonable selection of "natural" and organic foods/care products, but if you're into super-granola stuff, you'll want the Oliver's Market in Cotati. I have to say, if you want organic produce, particularly fruit, don't buy it here. It's always very sad-looking and overpriced. Oliver's has really fresh stuff in that category. The conventional produce is usually quite nice and fresh, though! They have a surprisingly large personal/pharmacy section, and they carry certain items I've had difficulty locating at other stores in the area (including Walmart, Safeway, Target, etc). A nice selection of standard and "natural" baby/personal products. Prices aren't awesome for many of the standard OTC medicines and some personal care, but comparable with other true grocery stores. When they have sales, they're usually a good deal! Lots of random bits and bobbles, like toys, stationary, gardening stuff, and so forth. A surprising array of services, such as loading a Clipper Card (used for transit systems in the Bay Area, like Golden Gate Transit). When asking about special products, the staff have been helpful, and willing to special-order for me if I so desired (unfortunately, that required purchasing a case at a time, and it's a new-to-me product, so I wasn't willing to risk it). I LOVE the cards/floral department!!! Huge selection of greeting cards, and I long to bring half the plants home with me. Most plants/etc look healthy and cared-for, and I would not hesitate to purchase live plants or cut flowers there as a gift. The staff I spoke with was helpful. Overall, a nice standard all-in-one supermarket, much like the one we used to visit when I was kid, at my grandparent's teeny hometown on the central CA coast. A little pricey, but probably has everything you need in one location. The staff are mostly OK - they're human beings, like all of us. I've been well-treated for the most part, and certainly nothing bad enough to keep me from returning. We all have bad days. read more

To give one star to the entire store based on just one food item is probably unfair, but that said, prepared sushi of salmon and tuna sold at this Ralley's was terrible. I've eaten many many pre-prepared sushi but I've never had anything this bad. Most likely, the fish had been once frozen, thawed and frozen again. Texture and firmness were entirely gone. read more

My elderly mother was shopping and wanted chicken on sale but you were out so she got a rain check. She have been back 3 weeks in a row and you still don't have them. She asked the poultry manager if he could substitute another brand of chicken and he told her "NO". I am writing this for my mother because she asked me to let the people of Rohnert Park and surrounding areas that this store is misrepresenting sales items. If you can't get what you put in your ad don't put it in, or offer an alternative.. Shame on you Raley's, top dollars store with bottom level service. She won't be coming back anytime soon. She recommends Food Co, Olivers, Walmart and Costco to anyone who is thinking about shopping there. read more

I've been shopping here for the better part of my life. they have general food stuff, as well as dabble into more of the organics or specialty food items. surprisingly enough, they actually have a whole section of gluten free stuff, which makes shopping for people with dietary restrictions more easy. I know a few of the people who worked here with my dad back in the late 80s and early 90s, and am surprised to see them still around. this isn't a bad thing, and it's actually nice to see somebody familiar still there. it's definitely nice to see Dennis and Howard in produce after all these years. and I've known other employees for years having grown up with them. one thing that was a bummer about this store is that after years of it having the same layout, they changed things up. this has been a mixed bag as when you've been able to find the same stuff in the same place for 30 years, it takes some getting used to when they switch it up. things change and that's okay. one thing that is interesting is that raleys always has tried to stay on top of innovations, such as the electronic maps they used to have on the shopping carts that would direct you to where you wanted to go. as I understand it that short lived idea went away because people kept crashing into eachother.. but the point is that raley's does try out some really innovative ideas that are ahead of their time. now days, the produce department, and affordable pet foods are what I primarily go there for, and every so often I hit up their deli for a sandwiches, which are really good. one hidden secret is their bakery's fresh donuts, which are straight up naughty and not good for your waistline. this has not changed in 30 years and is my goto place for fresh donuts when I'm wanting to spoil myself and coworkers. time will tell where raley's goes from here, but for what they are, I would say check 'em out as one of the two larger grocery stores in the city- even if some things are pricey, you might be surprised at what you find, that's actually a really good deal. read more

This store is ok. I like many of the food choices and find prices on meat to be reasonable. The wine selection is good but over priced if you're only buying one bottle. You shouldn't have to buy multiples of anything to get a good price. As far as the clerks at check out, they say the right things but seem to be more interested in what is going on with their counterparts. read more

This store is pretty expensive. I wouldn't do regular shopping here. However their new remodeling looks great. The coffee counter is always good and it's a great place to get quick groceries if I need a small amount. The location is nice and the neighborhood is friendly, only a couple miles away from my house. The prices here are a tad bit more expensive then target or Walmart, and the clientele at this location is mainly older men and women but it's the neighborhood. I would stop by after I get my nails done to get a couple snacks or dinner made. But I wouldn't pick this as a first choice, maybe when I'm retired I'll be coming to this location more often. Several older couples come and hang out at the cafe during the mornings, it's the hot spot, I suppose. read more

This store isn't bad for what it is price wise but some things are slight bit cheaper elsewhere, but they have some of the the specialty or natural foods items others don't. A big one for me is the Tofutti dairy substitute products that most other stores like Safeway or FoodMax don't have. While some things are a tad more than the other guys the convenience of one stop is nice. the produce section for the most part is decent and fairly fresh too. The only complaint I'd have is the bakery is a bit on the slow side service wise when the store is extra busy but good service once you get waited on. All in all a good everyday store in my books. read more

Visited the stores this afternoon, clean food looks awesome. But, had a bad encountered with meat department attendant. Not very customer service oriented, requested to sample some items, instead samples were throwed at me language used was very aggressive. This is my first and last time purchasing any groceries at Raleys. People, with aggressive behavior should not be exposed to the public. read more

Everyone that works behind meat/deli etc must really hate their jobs. I feel it when I have to force them to talk to me and help. They will intentionally avoid eye contact or helping. The folks in produce are usually helpful, and the cashiers are nice. read more

I work nearby so stopped in today to get a quick deli lunch: coleslaw and seafood salad to go. Tasted the coleslaw and it's sweet like a dessert. Hmmm looked at the ingredients and the ingredients are cabbage and HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. For real? Hasn't Railey's heard that HFCS is about the worst thing you can possibly eat healthwise? But they use it in their deli items where they clearly have a choice *not to* use HFCS. Onto the Seafood Salad and guess what, HFCS in there too. That's pretty much it for me with Raileys: take healthy food and ruin it. I suppose the Coke machine that greets you when entering the store should be a clue that Raley's is not Whole Foods or Oliver's, more like overpriced Walmart. For me it was their was overpriced produce department that isn't even comprehensive (lemongrass anyone?) and now their deli. read more

I went back to Raleys to buy a bottle of rosé wine. All members of the local chapter of AWS, American Wine Society, were supposed to bring a bottle of rosé to the first meeting. I couldn't find ANY rosés so I asked an employee to help me. After 3 employees tried to find a bottle, we discovered that Raleys only had two in the entire wine department - and this is the middle of summer, when rosé is very popular. Both bottles they had available were very cheap. If you want quality choices of wine, cheese or especially bread, do not shop at Raleys. read more

This one is a toss-up for me. Some things Raley's Rohnert Park does really well (hot food to-go, meat department, some bakery items) but others are... what were they thinking! I agree with other reviews that scanner prices sometimes ring up incorrectly, and yes, they've been nonplussed. The recent remodel is nice and produce prices seem higher. read more
