    #11. Cold Chicken Sub
    Cris K.

I got the sub and if I'm honest, everything was really good. Except the bread. It was thick, no bite, just cold baked though. I would've really preferred sourdough bread or even just standard Italian sub bread, not the pizza dough kind. Price was good though, for the size. Anyway, the search for the perfect sub continues!

Good solid pizza that is a 4 or 5 star. What makes it a definite 5 star is the owner. He used to work at a desk job and decided to follow his passion and make pizza. Not only is it a great story but he is very personable with his customers - how a business should treat customers. Only had a few plain slices and heated them at home. Crust could be a bit less chewy but otherwise the pizza was spot on. Maybe ordering a fresh pie right out of the oven and eating then would make it even better. Go to Ralpho's if you are in the area - even if you are not right in the area. It is worth the trip to see how an old school establishment is run and how an owner takes pride in his work and his customers.

I've never been to a pizza place where the owner seem ls so passionate about making great pizza for his customers. I love coming here not only because they are beyond welcoming and warm, but because they make the best pizza in the area.

Baked Ziti pizza. Just look at that crust. And the cheese. Nommmm

While visiting friends in New Jersey, we were told we had to try this pizza place. We called in and placed an order for pickup. Little did I know that we were 30-45 mins away. That's how good this pizza is, and it was totally worth it. We went in and the owner was incredibly friendly. This is the epitome of a wonderful family owned pizza place. While we had ordered more normal pizzas to bring back to everyone else, our friend ordered us additional slices to sit and eat there: the ziti pizza! O.M.G. It was just as amazing as you would expect. It was carb heaven. The sauce, the cheese, the crust... All just perfect.

A Calzone(Sausage) prepared by the owner is inviting. It is definitely well worth $9.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Not only does every ingredient dance in your mouth, but the soft beet infused crust makes this one of the best pizzas I've happily savored.

I was excited to finally order dinner after hearing good things, but my husband and I were unfortunately disappointed with the experience. We ordered takeout for dinner: Toowoomba Shrimp Pasta with Tonkatsu and the Spicy Original Tteokbokki (rice cakes) with Fried Kim-ma-ri (fried seaweed rolls). The shrimp pasta had good flavor but the portion was way too tiny. After only three or four bites, it was gone. There were about 4 pieces of shrimp in the entire dish and they could've added more pasta, given that it's not an expensive ingredient. The tonkatsu was also underwhelming. It was a small piece served in a large container that made the portion size look even more skimpy. I was also disappointed in the tteokbokki. It was mostly sauce with no egg and only a few pieces of fish cake, again served in a container that was far too large for the amount of food provided. The kim-ma-ri pieces were fine but also very small. Overall, the meal was underwhelming. For a total cost of nearly $50, the quantities were just way too small. We were left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry.

The place has been nicely updated and kept fresh with tasteful renovations without loosing its local pizzeria restaurant touch. Service was delivered with a smile and it was good to hear about the original owners Mr and Mrs Franco. My son and daughter had to have a NY pizza in NY - but stated this was better and without the hefty cost and the crazy wait My personal favorites from the past are the cheese pizza and the mussels, and the sausage and pepper heroes This time only was able to eat the pizza since we had already had dinner, honestly it tasted great . Unsure when I'll be back but will definitely make a stop. For reference had gone to school in NYC for 9 years and had plenty of Rays or other NY pizza and Franco's was always my goto. And currently living in Az -- I have enjoyed pizzeria bianco but know what it is like to miss some good old fashioned pizza Thank you Mr and Mrs Franco for the memories

The crust is thin with a sesame sprinkled crust and it was so good that I even ate every single bite of it, which is unusual for me.
