I have to say, I love this store! I'm so glad it's close to home and I can do my grocery shopping here. The store is always clean and tidy, everything neatly in its place. It's never crowded either so you can do your shopping without trying to beat the crowd, especially on the weekends. The staff is super helpful, and just the other day while I was looking for a rare ingredient, one of the ladies there helped me find it. I was surprised they even had it! Win! Their prices are also super reasonable. Another win. I love that they have fresh local flowers, seasonal beers, and tons of cheese! They also have a pretty big aisle with Asian ingredients. Thank goodness I don't have to drive to Ranch 99! Also a big plus is that they have Starbucks inside the store. And it's never crowded! Yay for Moorpark Ralph's. read more

On the upside, checkers Kim and Johnny, and deli worker Letty are friendly and helpful people. On the downside, the store itself is not very well managed. The deli and meat counters are often unstaffed, and you will often hear "customer needs help at the deli/meat counter", and even then, I've still had to wait for up to 10 minutes for a worker to arrive, with other customers being just as frustrated. Furthermore, sometimes their food is not even out on display to purchase (I went to the deli counter today at about 10 am, and it was completely EMPTY). There was even one case a year ago where the entire deli and bakery were closed, and I was told it was because nobody showed up to work. Twice I contacted customer service at the Ralph's website, and the live person on the chat line gave me the usual "we take customer satisfaction very seriously" and "we are sorry for your frustration" and said they would contact their store manager, but both times they apparantly never did, because I never heard back and their issues weren't corrected. Figure, if issues that customers express are not improved in some way, that shows that the store only cares about customers so much. Despite their radio ads, they do not have "low prices". Their items are more expensive than other local stores, and their produce is not particularly high quality either. Another disconcerting observation, their price for individual Krispy Kreme donuts is 2.59 each. That high price for lousy donuts that are 95% air. The only grocery store in Moorpark with worse customer service is Vons (that's a separate issue for a different review). Albertson's was fairly good, but the Moorpark location, unfortunately, was closed years ago. Smart and Final is probably the best option in Moorpark, as they do have low prices, and their staff is friendly and helpful, although the selection would not be as great. Target also has some grocery, and have fairly solid customer service. read more

Ralph's has finally crossed the point of no return. We've been loyal customers of Ralph's here in Moorpark for over 20 years, but that ends after tonight's horrible shopping experience. To start with, after their remodel, they've shuffled everything to the point where it's extremely difficult to find things anymore. It takes far longer to complete our shopping than it used to. On top of this there are fewer employees available to ask for assistance or directions. The new interior "corral" where they keep laundry soap, medicine, toiletries and personal items is extremely inconvenient. You have to pay before leaving this caged zone and then pay a second time on the outside for the rest of your groceries. The Ralph's digital coupon app, which is supposed to save you money is clunky, slow, not intuitive and forgets everything you finish inputting into it. It has never worked right for us and even the cashiers have trouble using it. It's useless. The paper coupons we receive always seem to arrive 3 days after we already purchase and pay full price for the items listed. By the time we go shopping for these items again, they are already expired. Most of the coupons are for useless things we never buy. However the kicker tonight was when we finished our shopping and filled up our entire cart, as usual, but there were no checkers. None. Zilch... Apparently Ralph's is now routinely shutting down the regular checkstands and routing ALL of the customers to their self-check machines. When you have an entire cart full of groceries, this is a deal breaker. This is especially problematic when there is only one person there to monitor a dozen self-check machines and you have to wait for assistance for everything like a scale error, produce charged by weight or any items you need removed. Of course the biggest issue for us was trying to check, weigh and bag all of our own groceries. This easily took four times longer than usual and was extremely frustrating. The bottom line is this is our last shopping trip to Ralph's and we will be using one of the other local grocery stores in Moorpark instead. They've just lost a customer... read more

I love the work the employees do.... the store is always in great shape... the 1 star is for the new policy of not using plastics bags!!!!!!!!.... I've lived here in Moorpark for ten years, I have been going to Ralph's every week, I've been frustrated many times with the cleanliness and lack of stocking/inventory. The deli is always frustrating due to lack of inventory. The highlight is always the meat department. They are helpful and honest butchers. All that changed yesterday when I accidentally went to Ralph's in T.O. WOW! I realized my local Ralph's is soo ghetto. What in the world has happened? I now understand why my in-laws and even my own senior citizen father absolutely despise Ralph now. The customer service is absolutely atrocious and it's complete nonsense about the digital coupons. It's ridiculous that the mobile app never works in the store, employees won't honor the sale price and if you actually try to attempt to contact Ralphs either by phone or via digitally, you get the runaround. When I voiced my concerns about the digital coupon at the self check out, an Employee asked me to show him the digital app. I acknowledged I deleted the app because it never works in the store as a result, I stopped using it, but what's the point of printing out paper ads, and requesting someone to manually add digital coupons? As I was voicing my concern, a senior citizen also asked for assistance and wanted to speak to a manager, or if it was better to discuss another time- she eventually left. Did I get the digital coupon price despite showing my loyalty member, no I did not. What was frustrating was the employee didn't dispute my argument nor did they try to be dismissive about the technical issues with the mobile app. To me that speaks volumes that Ralphs recognizes their own mobile app and website is not affective. It's bad enough that you more or less have to use the self check out, but you're expecting every single customer to download a mobile app in order for a coupon to be honored? I am 100% in agreement with my 78 year old dad as well as my in-laws, who are in their 70s as well. Thing is completely ageist!!! What do you do if you don't have your smart phone? Are you really really going to advertise items in paper ads, online and in store, but because of a technicality that you didn't download the mobile app you're not gonna get the price? I'm extremely frustrated that I even calmly called the store 10 mins later and was put on hold for over five minutes as an employee had to go get a manager. No one ever came back on the line. I have been a member and have a card, since before moorpark had a ralphs. I am 90 and I can't depend on them keeping my account active. They want me to sign in again so I think I need to stop shopping there. I can't sign in so I'm out. Usually deli section is very good. Today Enrique was working. He didn't want to be at work today. I asked for deli meats sliced very thin. What I got was thick sliced. Even after requesting more than once he didn't do it. If he there I recommend you come back another day. The rest of team very good. My children won't eat this thick cut so I tossed it to the pigs. That's the only solution I could think of. Enrique should go to work elsewhere. Some where that doesn't deal with customers. read more

The store always looks dirty. Their fruits and vegetables are not very good and in cases where I've had it delivered, it has sometimes arrived rotten. As an example, I ordered a bag of lemons and over half of the lemons had mold all over them. It was disgusting. Lastly, forget about sale items! I think they advertise sales just to pull customers into the store, only to find out they are completely out of the sale items. I hope Kroger closes this store. Got a cake and the lady who offered to help write a name on it, said the name out loud and still missed an obvious letter in the name. The baristas at the starbucks were awfully rude and clueless. I asked to reload my membership card with money and it was such a process for one lady to recognize they didn't need to charge me $15 to put on my membership card, in order to get stars. She was unprofessional and seemed like she didn't want to work. There was also a guy barista who made the drinks and didn't call out the many drinks that were made, rather just put them on the counter. Not even a "you're welcome," "have a nice day," "to hell with you," or anything from the dude. Not feeling welcome in this store with the way these people work here. read more

They raised the prices on the beer, then claim to have a sale and the prices are still higher then any other place. This store is crooked and looking to take advantage of people. O Ralph, where art thou? Well, I found Ralphs in Moorpark during the lunch hour and got a good deal on lunch. Ralph must be feeling good these days, because lunch is practically being given away. For only $4.99, you can partake of a fish meal, consisting of 3 pieces of Alaskan cod and fries. Rarely, do I get fish and fries, but with a deal like this, I couldn't resist. The employee working this particular day was ever so nice and friendly. This young lady must've heard the hunger pains in my stomach because she was very generous in offering samples of the food. Everything tasted fine, but I settled on the fish and fries. I don't frequent Ralphs too often, but this particular store serves as a prime example of how this chain's stores should operate. The store is very clean, the associates are very friendly, and the shelves were neatly aligned with products My lunch was pretty good, and for the price, I certainly can't complain. I enjoyed the courteous service from the young lady in the hot food section, the associate that directed me to the hot food section, and the enthusiastic cashier. If more employees in the service industry possessed the rare characteristics and professional demeanor as those in the Ralphs in Moorpark, customers' shopping experiences will be more enjoyable. read more

I stopped in yesterday to pick up some bread on the way home from work. The store was big, bright and clean, with wide isles and well-stocked and organized shelves. The floral section in this store is small, but their deli counter, bakery and meat department are all formidable. There is a starbucks inside and you can find lots of clearance items in the back corner of the store. Employees were all friendly and professional to me while I shopped and I was happy with the variety and brands I saw. Their bakery items were very attractively decorated and I especially liked their candy apples decorated with ocean themes. read more

I started coming to this Ralphs a couple of months ago when I began my job just down the street. The place is well organized and maintained, and they have regular deals. I especially love their deli section; there is even a salad bar! The employees are very courteous and welcoming and always ask if I found everything alright. I also prefer going to the Starbucks in the store over the one down the street. There is never a long line, and the baristas are super friendly. There is plenty of parking, but it can get quite crowded in the afternoons. Overall, this is a nice grocery store with quality items priced reasonably and awesome customer service. read more

I truly and honestly love(d) this Ralph's, but I witnessed some pretty horrific managing from a woman who's name I did not catch. She was training a new associate, Skip, who was a COMPLETE delight and very clearly doing a fine job. She, however, stood at the end of the conveyor belt barking orders and being curt with him during the entire interaction. The customers in Skip's line did not seem the least bit put out by his training yet she felt the need to be stern with every single moment of the transaction. She continued to prompt every action before Skip had a chance to try it himself first. I tried my best to make it known that I was appreciative of Skip and thought he was doing fantastic. I'm usually very happy with the Ralph's associates, but the managers do not radiate the same energy which doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth. read more

I was shopping and decided to get Starbucks. I Immediately noticed that the kiosk was very dirty. The counters were not cleaned and there were dishes piled up. There were two people in the kiosk and Kelsea helped me out, she gave me attitude once I walked up. Ordered a Grande Caramel Frappuccino with no whipped cream. She made my drink and I saw that she didn't wash any dishes. After getting my drink, noticing there was whipped cream. (Clearly she didn't hear me when i said no whipped cream) Kelsea was rude, and lacks customer service. I Don't think I would be coming back here anytime soon. This Kelsea has to be re-trained on customer service because she lacks a lot. read more

Not a fan of this Ralph's mainly because of the attitudes of the staff who work here. I can understand being miserable in the customer service world, but as a customer service worker it is your responsibility to treat customers with respect (even if you don't like or respect them or their job). My other problem with this Ralph's is the quality of the food at the sandwich bar. They look old and frankly disgusting. The woman making my sandwich did a beautiful job with what she had (stale bread, old tomatoes/avocado). I'm honestly disappointed in the management more than anything. It's up to them to keep morale of the employees up. Having people outside the store isn't a problem unless it's weeks in a row, so don't book these charities and organizations back to back. You know your customers don't like it, and it's very clear to everyone that the employees don't like like it either. But again, whether the employees like it or not they have an obligation to be respectful. Personally, I still go to stores and manned checkout lines for the human interaction.
